At Une BelleVue - Where Eagles Soar, the world softens into a gentle white mist, rolling past the windows like slow-moving clouds. Ocean and sky blend together, and everything feels calm, cozy, and suspended in time.
And through that soft fog, the lighthouse keeps watch.
Head Harbour Lightstation’s foghorn calls out steadily, not every few minutes, but almost every minute, a deep, reassuring voice echoing across the water. It becomes part of the rhythm of the morning, a guardian’s heartbeat. One of our guests, here for a long 16‑day stay, smiled and said, after listening to it all night, “I just love that foghorn,” It’s a sound people remember long after they leave.

There is a Hannaford Supermarket in Machias, Maine and IGA in Lubec. IGA has a Deli Counter and Cut Meat selections. Also for those of you that are coming from the main land (other parts of Canada) into Campobello through the USA can make your purchases before entry.
You might also want to plan your menu, that way you only purchase the essential items you need for your stay.

The Island has no road connection to the rest of Canada and can only be reached by ferry or through the US Border at Lubec, Maine, making us completely secluded from the hustles and bustles of city life and city noises like fire trucks, ambulance and police sirens, and heavy traffic. This makes "Une BelleVue" on Campobello Island the perfect getaway for relaxing, bird watching, long walks and cozy romantic nights.
Come, rekindle your romance, your thoughts, clear your head, sit by our outdoor firepit, sip coffee, tea or a glass of wine and try counting the stars.
Here at Une BelleVue you’ll find a quiet place to rest, relax and be lazy anytime of the year. You can bring your binoculars and watch bald eagles soar the sky. You can laze on the beach (connected to the property) and watch the fishing boats as they sail by with their catch of the day.
There's lots to do or just lazing for a bit is also fun. You can go golfing, sightseeing and on whale watching tours, and lighthouse visits, there are two of them here on the Island.
If you're coming by the East Coast Ferry from Deer Island please know that the last ferry over to Campobello Island is 6:30 pm AST. Keep an eye on the time difference just in case your phone reverts back an hour, so you don't miss the last ferry.

We enjoyed our stay and the host was very kind and responsive to all my questions. The house was in good shape and well-appointed. The only disappointment was the metal staircase going down to the beach, It is in such bad shape that its unsafe to use - you have to use it at your own risk - a few steps were almost entirely rusted through. The information for the place emphasized the lovely beach area, so we were expecting to have safe access to it. Other than the beach access issue, I would gladly recommend this VRBO to anyone.

Regarding the beach access, the old metal staircase is no longer in use due to safety concerns. As noted in my listing...not hidden, very visible with a photo.
Guests use the safe beach access path on the other side of the property as described in my listing. If you had read my listing you would have seen this.
There is also a photo of the stairs, I have over 40 plus photos of the property and surroundings, including the stairs so guest would know what to look forward to before booking.

We rented the cottage for 16 days in July.Magdalen and Peter were wonderful hosts and lovely people.The cottage is very clean with comfortable furniture and beds. The kitchen is supplied with everything you need and more. There are breathtaking views of the Bay of Fundy and a private beach for hunting seaglass. We enjoyed sitting on porch and watching the boats sail by. All in all a great vacation. Thank you Magdalen and Peter!

Campobello Holiday
We had an amazing five days on the island biking, walking and lying at the beach.
Watching the tides was all of our favourite!
Magdaline, was a great host and the cottage had everything we needed including comfortable furniture!
We would highly recommend staying here!

Great experience on Campobello!
My wife and l stayed at Magdalen’s beautiful property located within walking distance to the Head lighthouse on the north side of the island. The property was spotless,has a stunning view of the ocean and access to a pristine beach. Our host was gracious and warm. We look forward to staying there again.

Incredible location, cozy home
Fully stocked kitchen, clean home, comfortable beds and a cozy livingroom with a beautiful view of the ocean. There is a pathway that leads down to the beach and cove. Magdalen was very responsive to our questions and is a perfect host.

Melissa was the perfect guest and it's not easy to find the correct words to describe the characteristics she possess.
She and her husband were pleasant, communicative, quiet and easily approachable and their pet Sage is such a sweetheart.
I must say that if I hadn't seen them, I would not have known they were there. The house was left the way they found it, clean and everything in order...
Such a wonderful couple with the sweetest dog. They are welcomed any time...

Peaceful Stay
My husband, dog, and I had a wonderful time at this property! The unit was clean and well-kept and stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed relaxing on the porch and admiring the view, taking our dog to the beach, walking to the lighthouse, and exploring the island. It is such a peaceful location and a great weekend retreat, which was exactly what we were looking for. Magdalen was a friendly and flexible host. I highly recommend a stay here!

Fantastic Location on Campobello Island
We stayed here during a family reunion on Campobello Island. The cottage was very comfortable for the 3 of us. This rental had everything that anyone would need. There is a gorgeous view to the East. The lighthouse is 0.5 miles up the road. Be sure to ask the host about the trail to the beach!

A cozy cottage in the perfect spot
The cottage is perfectly located near East Quoddy light and isolated from other houses. It has direct access to a gorgeous, calm beach that was just for ourselves.
The cottage is fantastically equipped and has a big kitchen and very comfortable rooms.
Magdalen made us feel at home and was always accessible if we had any questions!
A very special place. We’ll definitely come back to Bellevue!!

Beautiful Campobello!
We loved this little cottage, on the very quiet side of the island. Very clean, and well appointed, with views of the water. In walking distance to the Head Harbor Lighthouse. Magdalen was a wonderful hostess, and went above & beyond to help us book a whale watching tour with East Quoddy Tours (which was a great outing! saw many whales, porpoises & seals). We enjoyed the fire pit (which Magdalen had set up for us!) and the peace of the area. We would definitely stay here again.

First visit to Campobello with a buddy!
Comfy two days of hanging with a friend, visiting the Rooseveldt "cottage" for the tour and "tea with Eleanor", walking the 1/2 mile to the very scenic lighthouse, poking around on foot and by car seeing the TALL docks to accommodate the tides, eating on the deck and talking about our husbands and families, far away. Great beds, fully stocked kitchen - Bring bug spray for the skeeters! Magdalen is a great hostess! Nice quiet place to hide and write your doctoral dissertation!

This property was very beautiful as was the hospitality of Magdela. We would highly recommend staying here. The tranquility mixed with solitude was exactly what my wife and I were looking for. Finding so many beach treasures was the biggest highlight for us each. Especially the red and blue seaglass pieces, along with rose , brown , white , aqua, turquoise , and green. I hope you all enjoy it as much as we did.

Lovely
We’ve stayed at this lovely property two years in a row and plan to visit again in the future. The host is so lovely and helpful, but is not at all intrusive. The view of the ocean is wonderful and it is fun to watch the boats going to and from the harbor. There is a family of eagles that make regular appearances. The kitchen has all the equipment you might need, coffee maker, blender, even a springform pan! We had a lovely evening watching the full moon rise while sitting around a fire in the fire pit. What great memories!

Heli was a wonderful guest. She arrived with her daughter and their dog, and from the moment they checked in, everything was smooth and easy. They were super pleasant, quiet, tidy, and very friendly, truly a joy to host.
They treated the cottage with great care and left everything clean and in perfect order. Communication was easy, and they were respectful throughout their stay. I would happily welcome Heli and her family back anytime.

Where do I begin? When writing reviews it is said that we should always tell the truth however, person's like me, with a soft, kind heart try their best to overlook certain things because life is worth making the most of and not dwelling on the negatives.
I have seen reviews of other host and they have prompted me to make a difference and am sure I does, since my place is equipped with items that no other host carries at they place.
I have been fair in my pricing and I don't have a cleaning fee. However, I do have a pet fee since I have to get all evidence of pet out for the next guest and since I don't know who's allergic I have to clean and clean some more.
This young lady, when booking disregarded the pet fee. I over looked that, she left the dog alone a couple times and am assuming in the back bedroom because he took his anger out on my gueen size fleece blanket and tore it almost to bits. She took one of my shopping bags, another disrespect and threw the blanket in the garbage (I was outside when I saw her throwing it away) and she was not going to say anything if I did not ask what was that she was throwing out, again I told her not to worry about it.
Since I did not know a dog was coming I did not put out the necessary things to accommodate the dog. She took out the dog mat, used it with the dog water and food bowls and after using them she folded up the dirty dog mat, I also overlooked that.
The night of her arrival around 10:30 pm I went to wash my hands and there was no water (we're on a well). I message her, got no answer so I went knocking, my husband fix the problem by adjusting the water pressure.
When I went to clean after check-out, I saw some of the boards around the tub was showing evidence that there was an overflow of water. I overlooked that (I know I shouldn't have)
She left a very good message in the guest book about the wonderful stay she had. Later when I ask about a review, this is what she said, " I did not realize I was spending it with you, therefore I can't give a review.
What was I missing here?...there is nothing in my listing that says, anything different than I am next door. Even some guest mentioned that" Mags" is right next door if needed. (don't people read listings and reviews) that's where she would have known I lived on the property, it's not a secret. (guest have the entire house) I live next door.
And if I was not next door when she drained the well of water what would she have done? that water had to be running non-stop.
I also allowed her to charged her electric car at No cost.
I find her selfish for after letting her off the hook for, the dog fee and the ripped up blanket and the wet floor boards, and I did not mention that there was a 2kg bag of lavender bath salts, she opened and used the entire bag.
What a selfie person.

I am from Barrie, Ontario, originally from Barbados. I enjoy long walks everyday. This is my fourth year hosting and am still in learning mode.

I chose Campobello to retire. I love the fresh ocean breeze coming off the ocean and it is absolutely beautiful here. Going for long walks, bike riding, watching the fishing boats out at sea, wading my feet in the water down by the beach, bird watching and simply enjoying my surroundings is just a few of the many things this Island has to offer.
I love this Oceanview property with the beach right in my backyard, which is accessible with no obstructions of rocks and boulders with seaweed to cross over to get to it, just a beautiful almost private beach which is enclosed in it's own little cove. I love the property for its serenity, beauty and secludedness, the nature of the surroundings, the fresh sea breeze, the deer's I see occasionally, the whales and bald eagles and other beautiful birds, the spectacular views of the ocean from the house and the feeling of peacefulness.
