It is so easy to get to the beach, we rented beach equipment and walked right to it, maybe took 7 minutes to walk there. The house is so fun, we loved the games in the garage and the hot tub. This really is a great house to stay in close to the beach!

This was a great, relaxing place to stay with our family of 7, ranging in age from 2-82. Lots of space and close to the beach. We loved doing puzzles together.

Relaxing stay, beautiful place

Spacious, clean, bay view from outdoor deck. A quick walk to the beach. Hot tub nice in early mornings and evenings. Full kitchen but you need to bring all your own spices etc to cook with.

Overall, we really liked staying at Cair Paravel and we would return! The location was what we really appreciated, since we were close enough to the beach to walk there and also walk to the bay, where we were able to leave our 2 kayaks. The house fit our needs overall and a few other things we wanted to note that we like are: the reverse osmosis water kitchen water system, the greenpan (because non-stick pans shed plastics into foods), good grilling utensils, nice to have a bamboo cutting board, hot tub was wonderful, nice outdoor shower, it was nice to have games and puzzles and ping pong. It was nice to have some suggestions listed for places to go and eat at as options. We enjoyed the 3 options for sitting on the decks and porch...nice bay sunsets!Here are a few suggestions and also some things to note for other travelers to plan better: It was nice to know that there are no "spices" that are provided and that means salt and pepper too...so bring those. The internet service went in and out some, so working from the house was a bit of a challenge for online meetings.Make sure you bring detergent for the dishwasher and clothes washer and dishwashing soap.If you like to cook, bring an extra cutting board...unless you want to use plastic ones.It really is close to the beach and bay which is fabulous!

Great breakaway

It was close to the beach and to places in town for other activities. You could relax or be active, and the neighborhood was quiet. The house had plenty of room for everyone.

Great Getaway

This home has a beautiful kitchen, beautiful windows that allows the morning sun to fill the whole house and the outdoor decks and sunroom have great views and is a nice place to gather with family. The garage Rec room was a great hangout too.

Cleanliness

Although the property is listed for 12 people, we didn’t feel it even accommodated the 8 people we had comfortably. The dishes had burned food I guess from the previous guests, the double sink bathroom had some black like feces around the toilet, and there was dirty blanket in the closet thrown on the floor.

Sorry you experienced some issues during your stay. Next time please be sure to let us know at Sandbridge Blue and we will correct issues right away. Just to be clear the house is 4 bedrooms, and 12 is the maximum occupancy allowed. Your observations about 12 people being a lot for the size of the house is appropriate for future guests to consider.

Loved it!

The property is huge and bright. The kitchen is very well stocked. The house is really close to the beach and the area is quiet. Oddly, there are no dressers with drawers, but there plenty of shelves and the closets are big. Also, the only ways to get to the main floor are a spiral staircase inside and a long flight of steps outside, so if you have trouble with climbing stairs this might not be the place for you. The house is a short drive from restaurants, shops, Rudee Inlet, and other attractions. The property manager checked in with helpful tips and was readily available if needed. We'd love to stay there again!

From California to Virginia Beach

We had a wonderful time exploring beautiful Virginia Beach while visiting our son who is in the Navy before he is deployed this month. We have family in Maryland who came to stay as well, and the house was perfect for all. Since we came from out of state it would have been nice to not have had to buy so many of the basics though - only one roll of toilet paper left in each bathroom, no liquid dish soap or sponge in kitchen. Other than that, it was quiet, and we loved exploring the neighborhood & beaches with spectacular properties often exclaiming to each other "who are these people and what in the world do they do for a living?" Would definitely recommend!

Good but could be better—3.7 stars

The VRBO pictures did not tell the whole story. This was an extended family vacation over the Thanksgiving Holiday. The check in process was seamless and well explained. The pictures did not show the dated house aesthetics. The carpets were egregiously dirty, several large stains on the furniture and the bathrooms and kitchen were dated. The neighborhood was fine with good beach access. The note about the stairs is very true. The inside stairs were not appropriate for the elderly. The sunroom was excellent and the WiFi was adequate. The manager was very responsive. Overall, not a horrible experience but we would not rent again.

Very good property, love the upstairs features and space. Not too keen on the swirl stairs, as we had little children...but it was nice. The playroom in the garage was an added bonus and we raised the doors for some cool playtime with the family. All in all, it was a wonderful weekend and good place to stay. The beach was two streets away, which took only a couple of minutes to get to. Answered all questions on time and even came out to look at a problem we thought we had within 10 minutes of calling. So I would come back and give my stamp of approval for this listing!

Everything was perfect!

The home was lovely and close to the beach. It had a very well equipped kitchen and details like fun family games to play were so thoughtful. The game room, sunroom, decks, and outside grill were great. The veiw was lovely. The outside showers were great and comvenient for cleaning off beach sand. Customer service was excellent! My family had such a great time. I would definitely book this home again!

Peaceful piece of heaven

Sandbridge beach is a quiet spot near Virginia Beach. The home was perfect for our ladies get together. Plenty of beds and bathrooms. The game room was a pleasant little gem. Views of the bay and the porches were fantastic.
