Waterfront Chalet in Val-des-Monts. The chalet is 45 minutes from downtown Ottawa. This new 3 bedroom 3 bathroom Chalet sleeps 6-8 people. Safe for Children and elderly with a sandy beach front. (0 steps) Kayak, paddle board and 2 tubes are available for your aquatic enjoyment.
Hot tub in private enclosure and interior fireplace are available.
Only ecological logs are permitted in the interior fireplace.
NOTE: Ecological wood NOT supplied. Keep your mind at ease during power outages as there is a Generac generator connected to the chalet. Bell Fibe Highspeed internet will increase your browsing capability while staying with us.

We have been vacationing in the Val des Monts area for a number of years now, and this cottage basically had it all! Finally a cottage with an actual nice lawn area and easy smooth and level access to the lake on a sandy beach which was also weed free. Inside the property is very comfortable and exceptionally clean. And the hot tub with a private surround gazebo was fantastic as well. One of the best stays we have ever had in Val des Monts.

This cottage surpasses so many others in the area by a long shot. The home is clean, comfortable, well maintained and well stocked for all to enjoy a fabulous stay. Lake access is just a few steps away, with a small beach area and lots of kayaks and SUP for use. The firepit is stellar, and the hot tub set up is one of the best we've seen in a rental by far. The indoor fireplace is clean and well maintained and offers a super cozy atmosphere. Wifi service is incredible and far surpasses our own home service. Air conditioning units worked great in the high humidity and heat of the stay. Lots of dining area options and the screened in porch area is a must for those dusk hours that bugs love. We would definitely return in a heartbeat and highly recommend this rental.

Truly a slice of heaven. The cottage is well stocked, was clean, had games and toys for the kids, heated floors throughout the ground floor kept us toasty (was -30C the weekend we stayed), all streaming services on tv…. We couldn’t find something to complain about if we tried!

Beautiful cottage and property with all the amenities you could need and more. We had a nice, relaxing stay with paddle boarding, bbqs, campfires and cozy movie nights. Jay was very responsive to the few questions we had while staying and check-in/check-out was easy.

Great weekend away

I visited the chalet with my family over the thanksgiving weekend and we had an amazing time! The location was great and the chalet was was beautiful.

The cottage was one of the most luxurious, cleanest and most beautiful cottages I have ever been to. In addition, Mr. Jay was very respectful and always there to help.. I recommend it because it is worth it.

Great accommodation

Lovely place - it had everything we wanted. Lots of parking space, all the amenities, even a generator that kicked in automatically when a tree fell in the road and took the power out. Only flaw was some geese that dirtied the beach area but we were not there to swim. Thanks for everything!

Thank you for your response. This year we newly installed sod which the geese must be fond of, however we have remedied the situation with fencing and a proper cleaning. More importantly I’m happy to that you enjoyed your stay. The automatic generator is a key factor in keeping guests comfortable for reason of A/C, heat, lighting, internet and running water. Beautiful chalet, lake, hot tub, fire pit - what more do you need?

Couldn’t have asked for a better place for our family summer vacation. Perfectly designed chalet with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The lake is amazing and kayaks and a paddle board are available as well as floats for relaxing or enjoying water sports and exploring the lake. Cooler nights were spent grilling on the patio followed by a fire and s'more's around the spacious fire pit.

Absolutely beautiful house and scenery. However the kitchen stuffs are a bit less clean and handy. We realized the quilts were without covers until the last day.

Thank you for leaving a comment. Quick note, all of our “quilts” are washed and dried after each and every stay. Family getaway

The house was great. Loved the Canadiana decor, and the bathrooms were fabulous. Loved the heated floors! Hot tub was really nice. Too bad there was so much snow, that the outdoor area was inaccessible.

Another great stay!

This is our second summer staying at this property and, once again, it did not disappoint. We were thrilled to find the extra kayak this year so now 2 family members can go paddling together. The lake is beautiful, the proximity to Wakefield is fantastic, and the property has everything you need for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful, private cottage with lovely lake views

The cottage was perfect for our group of 5. The kids fished and played on the lake every day and the cottage had all the amenities for a very comfortable stay. The owner was incredibly responsive the the cottage was spotless when we got there.

Beautiful house and amazing view

The house is gorgeous and was perfect for us 3 adults and 4 kids. The lake is at the end of the backyard and we just had a blast.

Amazing getaway! Vraiment super!

Jay was an amazing host. Quick to respond and has created a wonderful getaway space niched on a lake with such an attention to detail for our comfort it was SO appreciated. Excellent stay!

We had a wonderful time at this property! I have absolutely nothing negative to say. The property was well equipped with everything you could need. We have two children and the shallow entry into the water was perfect for them. We swam, kayaked, and paddle boarded every day. The host was excellent and very quick to respond to any questions or concerns that we had. Highly recommend.

Fantastic Luxury Cottage Getaway in the Gatineaus

We stayed for a week at Chalet Paradise in Val-des-Monts, Quebec, in the summer of 2023. The property was absolutely fabulous, and the setting on the lake was perfect. We really enjoyed the paddleboard and kayak provided. The ameneties were excellent, including a fully equipped kitchen, bluetooth speaker and really luxurious bath and showers. The wifi worked really well too, especially considering the rather remote locale. The entire property was immaculate and well maintained. This was truly a luxury chalet! The host has been very thoughtful and thorough, including almost everything you need for a vacation home, such as ample firewood, lots of kitchen utensils and even those little things like cling wrap and condiments that are such a pain to have to pack in yourselves! The host was very responsive to queries, and did check in with us to ensure we had everything we needed. We had a thoroughly excellent stay and will definitely return when we are next in the Gatineau area!

Friends Getaway

This cottage is beautiful and so comfortable. Went there with a group of girlfriends (5 people), and it was large enough to comfortably give everyone their own bed and no line up for bathrooms. Jay was incredibly helpful and really quick to reply to any questions, and the cottage was so clean. Was perfect for a weekend of lounging around and catching up with friends. I will definitely go back again, and definitely recommend it for anyone else. One thing to keep in mind for May travel is that it is mosquito season and they are insane. I am just mentioning it in case a family with kids want to go to a cottage in that sector with the expectation of being able to enjoy the lake or hot tub, or have their kids play outside. You will 100% end up staying inside due to high volume of aggressive mosquitoes coming after you the second you step outside. This is not a constant problem, its just the current season. This cottage is still wonderful, and one of the best properties i have come accross.

You are absolutely correct, this time of year can be bothersome to the great outdoor enthusiasts due to mosquitoes. For the comfort and enjoyment of our guests we have built a 3 season screened room. Although some years are better than others, I’d like to recommend using insect repellent to anyone travelling in the 2 week period when the mosquitoes are aggressive to avoid getting mosquito bitten. Horrible Experience

Do NOT stay here. The place may appear nice but the house us not ready for people and the owner is not interested in your experience. We arrived and noticed there were NO blinds in any part of the house - including the bedrooms. The water was not drinkable (we were never told this), there was no furniture in 2 bedrooms other than beds (no closet or dresser or tables, etc), the sheets were dirty and needed to be clean. The towels has never been washed and when we tried to get help from the owner he pointed to blinds on back order and had no solution. Mattresses were stained and the pillows looked like the dog slept on it. It was disturbing. Further conversations with the owner shower his disdain for customer service - he blamed us for not being prepared for the water situation, he wouldnt refund the money and continued to blame us for the house being in the state it is in. He also looked in our car and used any excuse to hold on to cash versus help us. We were doing laundry for hours the first night and I'm hold with VRBO looking for a solution. We left the next morning and the owner continues to ignore his responsibility. Never again. If even this house gets fixed, dealing with the owner is a nightmare. I would never recommend this place or any other he owns.

We are sorry that the property did not meet your expectations. The property and everything in it is brand new. Including all furniture, linens, utensils and appliances. As a reminder we do not allow pets as some of our guests are highly allergic. We also have stringent cleaning standards in place and hold this service to a high degree. As we strive for a seamless memorable experience we understand that honest communication is an integral part of your stay. We do not misrepresent the property in any way, shape or form. For your convenience we had 24 bottles of water in the pantry of which we hope you enjoyed. As a final note, no one including the owner was on the property during your entire stay, we use an electronic keypad to gain entry to the chalet for the convenience of our guests. We hope you have a sincere and genuine day!
