Island Colony is a few steps away from the building is a large concentration of shopping centers, such as Waikiki Shopping Plaza, BeachWalk, and the International Marketplace.
There is truly no end to the stores to wander through, unique dining options, and entertainment such as Hula lessons or cultural shows closeby.
But, if you prefer to explore more of Waikiki or even the greater Oahu area, there are several transportation options.
There is a bus stop located 3 minutes from the Island Colony building.
There is also a Biki rental bike stand nearby, which can be used to explore Waikiki.
You will definitely enjoy all of the perks of the Island Colony condo itself, which offers a nice pool and Jacuzzi as well as the gym, BBQ and mini shop. - all at an affordable price compared to similar hotels in central Waikiki.

Incredible view from the lanai and the pool was lovely. The kitchen is on the small side which was ok since I dined out during my visit.

Great view and location. A few small cockroaches in the unit but other than that had a great stay.

I’d overall give this stay 4 stars.The property was very beautiful and very convenient location. However there were some negatives. We had a little bit of issues with check in because the registration from the owner informing of our stay was never sent to the front desk. Second, our passcode was given to us incorrectly so we couldn’t get in the unit until the owner answered our call and gave us the correct code. But all that was solved very quickly within 30minutes.The only issue we had with the actual unit was the plumbing. The water in the tub didn’t seem to drain while you were showering so the water would stay afloat and you’d be standing in the water during the entire shower. Second, there is a leak either in the tub or toilet but several times after we returned from being outside and after hours of not using the unit, the bathroom floor would have some water on it. The owner said security had been notified and if he went to go inquire about it. We did not have time and this is not an issue for a guest to worry about it, it’s something the owner should make sure is fixed.Besides that, we had a great time and it was beautiful out on the balcony.

Regarding the check-in, the correct access code was provided at the time of booking through the automatic email. It is possible that the email containing the unit instructions may have been filtered into the spam or junk folder. We normally recommend that all guests make sure they have received and reviewed the unit instructions before arrival, as they contain important information for check-in. We’re also sorry for the inconvenience with the bathtub drain. The issue was addressed and taken care of. Regarding the water found on the bathroom floor, we contacted the building maintenance team immediately after receiving the report. They inspected the unit as well as the area above, but were unable to find any active leak. We also had our plumber inspect the unit, and he likewise found no signs of an active leak. We understand how concerning this must have been, and we apologize for the inconvenience. As part of our follow-up, we would also like to remind guests to make sure the shower curtain is properly positioned inside the tub while showering, as water can otherwise reach the bathroom floor. Thank you again for your feedback. We appreciate your understanding and are glad you otherwise had a great stay.

Great Location and View

The property is in a great location. Both the beds had stains on the sheets when we arrived. Owner responded and got it fixed the next day.

On the surface it was clean but could use a deep cleaning. Beach towels would have been nice or access to a towel service. The staff was nice but couldn't answer any of our questions. Their response was always "you need to contact the host". The host was prompt in replying for the most part but I'm guessing they don't work on Sundays. Place is small and the bathroom is really small. However, we enjoyed our short stay. Location was excellent for us. Close to a bus stop. It worked for my wife and I.

Unit was excellent. Could have used a sink in the main area instead of having to wash dishes in the bathroom. Door code did not work upon arrival at 11pm. Has to rent a hotel room.

We rang the realtor, who had us in a new apartment within the hour. The new apartment was nice and clean fantastic views of both the ocean and the golf course. The only negative was the air-conditioner was extremely noisey. I would suggest that this gets looked at before next guests.It had a really good size balcony, and great swimming pool area which was considerably larger than we anticipated a nice surprise😀

Lovely vacation property

I've stayed in Island Colony condos for the last three vacations. Will return. The kitchen sink in the bathroom is quite doable. A few more coffee cups and glasses would be nice. Overall, excellent value, comfortable, great view. 4 digit access code on entry did not work. Luckily Lei Hawaii Realty (host) had supplied us with a backup 4 digit code. Thankfully it worked, and we used it for our entire holiday.

Wonderful

Ideal location. Really everything in walking distance 5 -15 minutes. Excellent bus experience can also take you to location of interest, $3.00 International Market and Waikiki Market and other markets where you can buy groceries, prepared meals a few blocks away. They have bbq’s on the 6th Floor where you can cook up your own food, you got from the market. I took advantage of the pool, hot tub and sauna almost every day. Hot tub and sauna was great to relax after a day of touring around . They have a small convenience shop on the 6th floor. Lots of laundry machines, reasonable prices to use. They have a place on ground level you can buy breakfast. Nice view from the balcony I truly believe you would also be as pleased as I was in choosing this place!!!

Not satisfied

One of the cabinets fell on my foot and to this day is still very sore and I was down for almaotn3 days not being able to do much walking on the trip. Has made going back to work very difficult. The manager didn’t care. Stains on the sheets, very limited kitchen items to make anything. The pictures of the unit make it look like it’s much bigger than it really is. The AC unit didn’t work after multiple times try to get someone to fix it. Neither one of us slept because we were sweating the entire time. The owner said they were going to send someone to fix it and never did. Miserable stay and would have liked my money back but they ignore that.

Rough Start but Improved

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We got off to a rough start. Arrived at the condo door at 11:30 pm and discovered that the code given did not work. Two tired individuals in their 80's after a six hour plane ride and could not access the condo. Had to rent a hotel room for the first night as no one answered the emergency number given. Received an email early the next morning with a backup code. Checked and it worked. Refund was given for the hotel room. Unit was clean and had a fantastic view and we enjoyed the stay. Just waiting for a refund for the security deposit.
