We went towards early fall and it was amazing! Such a nice clean place with a beautiful view of the marsh and very quiet! You don’t even hear the neighbors and see alot of wildlife. The house was great for us and check in and out went very smoothly! We had no issues at all and would love to come back! This time of year was great because it wasn’t too crowded at all and a lot of restaurants were still open! Parking is a little tight if you have a bigger car but was perfect for my SUV. Very close to everything too!

The house was wonderful. Great location close to all the attractions but far enough away you don’t have a lot of in and out traffic. The parking was tricky with a bigger truck but very manageable. It definitely exceeded all expectations. Definitely plan on returning for another trip in the future.

We had a wonderful week here. Found the property exactly as described - this is a duplex unit with plenty of space for a family of 4 and pet. The marsh views are incredible. It is walking distance to everything!

This was a great home for a family of five! Plenty of room to relax when not at the beach. It was in a great location close to everything, but still secluded from all the chaos that comes with beach towns. The Pony Centre was right next door which is great to see ponies every day on your way to the next adventure. The balconies were a perfect place to unwind and have some quiet time in the mornings. The loft bedroom for the parents couldn’t have been more ideal to ensure adults have a little reprieve too! The parking was tight for a truck but we made it work. All the neighbors were so friendly as well. We couldn’t be happier with our stay!

My wife and I and our dog Sandy Koufax enjoyed our two night stay at the Island Retreat. The views of the marsh from both decks was great and the place was nice as advertised. It's a great base to explore Chincoteague.

The unit was very nice, and had a master upstairs bedroom suite with a full bath, couch, and reading chairs. Both the living room (screened in porch)and the master suite (deck) opened to the outside. We are thinking of returning in September.

Beautiful marsh views, sunrises, screened balcony was perfect for meals, morning coffee. Dogs loved the walks and patrolling from the porch!

Property was a great location, centrally located and a beautiful view. Pet friendly , even having a nice, plastic dog bowl waiting for us. Our dog is a 15 year old husky and she had difficulty managing the stairs into the house and defiantly could not handle the stairs to the upstairs bedroom but we were warned about this so it was fine.

Great location. Great property

Excellent stay over long weekend with family and dog. Absolutely hassle free plus excellent communication from hosts. Thoroughly enjoyed the pitches overlooking the marsh views. Easy bike ride to town or the beach!

Beautiful View

We loved the view from both the screened porch and the balcony. The property is close to many attractions, restaurants, and the Chincoteague refuge.

Wonderful experience

We could not have been happier with our stay. Everything (except food) we needed was provided, the accommodations were clean, well maintained and thoroughly enjoyable and just as represented. We like it so much that we booked again for next year!

As Birders, we loved our view of the marsh.

The house was lovely. Everything worked; and the location was perfect. If its available, I would rent it again.

Nice winter getaway to Chincoteague

Nice house, great view of the marsh and the lighthouse at night. 50 degrees and sunshine beats the heck of the subzero and the snowstorm aftermath we returned home to. Lots of great seafood, visited the Wallops Island NASA visitor's center, walked some trails at one of the parks, enjoyed the sunrises over the marsh. Great getaway.

Totally peaceful

This is a gorgeous location, right on the marsh, in a quiet neighborhood but just blocks from restaurants & shops. We were perfectly comfortable & enjoyed watching the geese & herons on the water. We’ll be back!

I would stay at Islam Retreat again. It is an older duplex but has a lovely setting. The kitchen was small with very little “prep” room. Parking was a challenge with full-sized pick-up and van but not impossible. Loved the screened porch which held a full- sized table and chairs and a lounge area.

Lovely marsh view

House wasn't as isolated as I'd anticipated from the listing, nor did I understand that it was a duplex. But it didn't really matter. Our stay was wonderful. Great sunrises and sunsets from the upper balcony and comfortable beds. The upper bedroom suite was beautiful. Great birdwatching opportunities. One morning I heard splashing in the marsh. Seven deer were cavorting and having a great time chasing each other.

Poor maintenance

The place was nice until we started to check things out before we brought in our luggage. The first thing we noticed was that the cleanliness that they say is a professional service is not to what I expected. The shower curtains in guest and master were moldy, the guest bathroom had mold on the ceiling above toilet in guest bathroom and the smell of piss in the guest bathroom when you walked in was noticeable.There were cobwebs on the coffee pot and on ceiling fan in kitchen. There was water downed hand soap in master bathroom. These may seem minor but when you claim PROFESSIONAL CLEANJNG SERVICE
