We loved this property. The house was very well equipped, including the kitchen, sporting goods (kayaks, paddle boards, fishing gear, crab traps), and comfortable furniture. The property has good privacy and a great view of and access to the water. We hope to stay here again in the future.

Everything about this gorgeous waterfront home is perfect! The location, views, comfortable beds, tons of games, outdoor activities and all in a very spacious luxurious home makes it the nicest VRBO that our family has ever stayed in. Truly can’t say enough nice things about this rental home except that we will be back next year!

Lake view was spectacular making the back 2 rooms extremely peaceful to relax in for our group of 8. Bedrooms spacious, beds comfortable and entire home well equipped (even provided paper towels and forgotten essentials basket). Lots of table and seating options...great for games! Highly recommend this property!!

We went as a group of 8 and had a fantastic time. The house and property are amazing. All of the rooms are oversized, large beds, so much room to spread out and relax. The location was great and peaceful. Would definitely stay again!

Waterfront Oasis!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home over the holidays! Very comfortable beds, sparkling baths, beautiful decor and spectacular water views from almost every room. And Jonathan our host was professional, friendly and informative. A 10 out of 10 booking for sure!

Beautiful, peaceful get away

The property is perfect for a family vacation. The host provides all you need to stay entertained and enjoy the property. The small town near by is quaint and easy to access, and the community beaches are clean and very lityle traffic.

Lovely setting; beautiful home

Extremely comfortable, well equipped home in a gorgeous location. Relaxing spot on the water with plenty of entertainment for all ages. Highly recommend.

The perfect getaway!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this charming restored historic home. It had everything we needed and more. From cleanliness to comfort, incredibly spacious, and a view to die for!

Great accommodation and amenities. I wish beds and pillows were more comfortable. Rest all worked really well. Has the best sound bar !

Best rental !

This home is a wonderful mix of country charm and waterside views. We enjoyed all the amenities- kayaks, paddle boards, game room with ping pong table. Will definitely be back in the future!

Pleasant stay

Our visit to Matthew’s was wonderful. The home was pleasant and spacious. Plenty of room for our crew! The kids enjoyed the peddle boat and kayaks, even in November! Plenty of relaxation, playing and food prep areas! One of our better rentals!

Relaxation on the water

A group of 4 friends from VA, NC, OH, and the UK met here for a few days of reconnecting and relaxing! The house is very spacious and well appointed. We loved the views of water all around! Puzzles and meals on the screen porch, morning coffee on the dock, and quiet time in the kayaks on the water made for a wonderful get away. We also enjoyed exploring Gloucester.

Best house!

The property was very nice! We love the house and the dock as well as all the fun games, fishing equipment and water activities found in the garage. It was very clean and all of my friends love it!

Jonathan thought of everything . The house had all the amenities of home. the view of the lake was incredible. The house was clean and there was more than enough room for 5 adults. We had a wonderful time and we would stay here again.

Holiday Away

The property is beautiful and well set up for a family getaway. Rooms are large and spacious with multiple bathrooms that can accommodate several generations. It has beautiful views of the tranquil water within the house and out. It was well equipped in the kitchen, and lots for kids of all ages to do (multiple yard games, water equipment, and indoor room with ping pong).

Great place for family stay

Owner thought of everything for a comfortable stay. Lovely updated house with large window views of inland waters and enough space for everone. Grade school kids were never bored with pingpong, games, books, gameboy, crayfishing, etc. Close enough to go to Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. We have stayed at other houses and this house is one of the best and we will want to return.

Annual Reunion

Friends from the North and the South met in the middle at this historic property. The 270 degree view of the Morris Creek from the glassed in living space picturesque and exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed the game room above the garage and watching the eagles and herons from the dock. Ten minutes from downtown Mathews was a plus. We recommend this property to anyone who enjoys nature, the water and peace and quiet.

Our 5-night stay here was everything we could have asked for! What a beautiful and peaceful setting on the water! My wife absolutely fell in love with the house which is both charming and elegant... we instantly felt right at home! Our 4 kids ages 11 thru 17 gravitated to the ping pong loft and the kayaks and paddle boards. Plenty of rooms to spread out in and relax. The views of the water are incredible from the big pane windows in the main floor TV / living room! Large comfy couches, bright airy sunroom with a solid table for playing board games, huge kitchen with an attached breakfast room... plus an expansive formal dining room! The outdoor patio adirondack chairs and grill overlook the substantial dock with a smaller floating dock attached for getting in and out of kayaks. This place is perfect for a fun family getaway - even if you live nearby! The beds are big and comfortable and the bathrooms are updated with modern conveniences. The host has thought of everything and made sure we were well situated and not in need of anything. Thank you! We enjoyed exploring the town of Mathews as well as Gwynn's Island... our favorite places to eat at night were "Southwind" and "Hole in the Wall". Highly recommend staying here on your next vacation! We never wanted to leave!

The property managers thought every single item, detail, amenity, anyone could ever need or want. We only spent 2 nights but could easily make a weeklong vacation here or more. This place has it all. Very spacious. We had 5 adults, 2 teens and a toddler. Location is ideal. The water views, seating, dock, etc. are amazing as the house is on a point. Jonathan, the contact person, was easy to reach to help me w the entry system (which works great). He even followed up just t confirm all was good to go. Highly recommend this property.
