Velkommen til Hale Hamakua!

Dette smukt indrettede 4 soveværelser, 2 bad hjem ligger på en privat acre pakke langs Hamakua kysten lige nord for Hilo, hvor der ikke er noget at blokere dine synspunkter på den magtfulde Stillehavet! De store åbne vinduer fylde hjemmet med lys, skønhed og en storslået udsigt. Kom i vintermånederne, og vil du have en forreste sæderække for alle hval aktivitet, som du overhovedet kan tage i.

Køkkenet er stort og let at arbejde i og selvfølgelig har alle de faciliteter, du skal lave til at lave de lækre ømåltider. Det store soveværelse med eget bad, king size seng, privat havudsigt lanai og underholdning center med tv og dvd er den perfekte flugt efter en lang dag med sightseeing.

For de andre medlemmer af din familie og børn er der et fjernsynsstue, også med et andet fladskærms-tv og dvd-afspiller. Der er 3 andre soveværelser med en dronning, en fuld størrelse seng og en tvilling, og 2 dobbelte sovesofaer i stuen. Alle får deres egen plads!

Fra denne bekvemme beliggenhed, udforske gamle Hilo by med sin store bønder marked og historiske museer og skal se stoppesteder. Også opdage smukke Akaka Water Falls Park og Old Mamalahoa Highway, den oprindelige motorvej bygget tilbage i 20'erne, der tog dig fra Hilo byen til det smukke hesteland Waimea.

Fra huset er du kun en kort 20 minutters kørsel mod syd til Hilo, 20 minutter nordpå til Honokaa by, Waipio Valley og derfra kun et par minutter til den smukke hvide sandstrand Hapuna Beach.

The house was perfect for our family of 7. The views are amazing and the property well kept. It's about a 30 minute drive north of downtown Hilo. So quiet and peaceful. The keys were in a lockbox and we had no trouble checking in or checking out. We did not need to contact the host during our stay but did get messages with directions before arrival and reminders prior to checkout. We really enjoyed the local feel of the property and look forward to coming back!

Hilo side tropical paradise

This house was excellent for the 2 of us , our 2 grandsons and our Mother-in-law.Gorgeous view from the covered lanai, multiple whale sitings and easy access to Hilo, Volcano and lots of fun hikes.Well appointed kitchen , good AC and pretty decent WiFi a godsend since there was 0 cell reception!Our concierge was extremely responsive and helpful and we even enjoyed the roosters!

Perfect for our family vacation!

This house was such a lovely welcome for us on our first trip to Hawaii! The house was spotless (our most important criteria) and provided everything we needed for a fantastic week, including beach towels and a cooler. Plus, the view from the back deck is breathtaking! I could have stayed out there all week except that there are so many things to do on the big island. Mahalo for an unforgettable vacation!

Big Island Celebration

The property was plenty big for our party of eight. There were spots for all of us to have time to ourselves after a day of sightseeing or spending time at the beach. Though it is far from the Kona sights, we didn't mind. There is plenty to see and do in Hilo. Volcanoes National Park is only about an hour away as is Hapuna Beach for snorkeling. The zoo in Hilo is well-kept, beautiful, and free! We had a wonderful time celebrating college graduations on this beautiful property.

The location and the view were very relaxing. Loved waking up and enjoying slow mornings with a cup of coffee on the deck. The roosters were a little annoying, but we got used to it. The house was in really good condition. The sliding screens and doors could use a little TLC. So sorry the coqui frogs are now as far north as your location. I would eventually like to see a more bike friendly road system on the east coast highway. There are many narrow spots and some not so friendly drivers on the east coast compared to west coast.

Lovely solitude

The property was clean, if a bit too well-used. Views were wonderful and ocean-oriented. Rooms were airy and bright. Geckos, frogs, and birds were an added gift!

Big Island Adventure

A very spacious house that accommodated 9 of us. We chose this location for a family gathering because we live on opposite sides of the world; coming from the Midwest in the U.S. to Japan. Peaceful view on a bluff with a nice outdoor deck. Quiet setting. Lots of outdoor beauty to explore. Volcanos, waterfalls, incredible ocean shores and even an area with hot pools. About 20 minutes to Hilo.

Secluded Oasis

This property is exactly as it's described. It is outside of town (Hilo) by a bit but we knew this going in. The views are spectacular and if you love the sounds of nature this place is for you. The directions are spot on and check in was very easy. The house is perfectly appointed and we loved having the use of beach chairs, boogie boards and the beach umbrella. I would highly recommend this place for groups and families!

Private and Comfortable

We enjoyed our stay at Hale Hamakua. The view and grounds were beautiful. We loved the birds and geckos. We had two couples and the two beds we used were comfortable, and we appreciated the beach towels, chairs, and ice chest (although we could have used a smaller one...). The labeled light switches were a nice touch. The kitchen had everything we needed as far as cookware and dinnerware although it would have been nice to have a few spices available. The main road was close, but the road noise was minimal. We would stay here again!

Gorgeous view

Quiet, peaceful, with plenty of space for everyone and an incredible view of the ocean enjoyed every morning and evening on the deck. It was a perfect location for exploring the Hilo side of the island, something I think too many people overlook. The only down sides were the AC—located only in the bedrooms, the wall units were old and noisy. The place is a little older—careful on the deck—the wood on the railing is rotting and detached in one place. Cleanliness was a little iffy. Overall though, none of these issues kept us from enjoying our stay. Really, sitting on the deck overlooking the water and the beautiful yard was one of the best parts of my trip.

We cooked most of our meals at the house and found that it had what we needed in regard to pots and pans etc. The main disappointment in that regard was the lack of a good gas BBQ (although there is a small grill).

Beautiful location and wonderful views

This is a correction, my last review was for the wrong place, but listed under this house. This place is a very nice size, very nicely appointed, and has a good supply of linens, tableware, silverware. Parking is good. The layout is very nice for bigger groups. The house is quite clean, too. There are two reasons for not giving the fifth star....the water pump is VERY noisy. We were traveling with a pregnant lady and had to institute a no-flush rule after we all were woken up the first night by the water pump at 4am. We have never heard such a noisy pump. The other thing that was not ideal was how far from Hilo it is. The mile marker as you leave Hilo is 3, this is off the road between 20 and 21. Great if you want seclusion, not as convenient as we had hoped for restaurants and shopping.

Amazing view, perfect getaway!

We checked in late (about 9 PM) and it was dark, so we were so excited to see the views the next morning. We were not disappointed when we woke up! Amazing views in every direction!!! Away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Hilo, this home is exactly as described - comfortable, peaceful and relaxing. This is a fully equipped house that has everything you need to enjoy your vacation so you don’t need to go shopping before you arrive. There is a resident chicken (who we named “Bart”) which we got a real kick out of seeing each day when we went outside. There are also resident geckos which again we got a real kick out of spending our vacation with! The property manager is absolutely A++. We are kind of wimpy mainlanders and are used to AC so we did book this home because it had air-conditioning for sleeping (and for the views!). We discovered that the master bedroom air conditioner was not working when we arrived so we sent a text to the property manager Jeana. She got back to us within minutes and had it inspected and replaced literally within a few waking hours. It is clear the owners love this home and want to share it with their guests, and the property managers are the top notch. Mahalo for an amazing vacation!

My hale hamakua experience

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Difficult to find the road to the house, not well marked. Extremely difficult to identify the turn to the home at night or in inclement weather.Upon entering there was a musty smell. Turned on the ceiling fans to circulate the air. Only 2 were capable of multiple speeds the rest were stuck on low speed. Opened the first patio door and the screen door fell out. This happened with each patio door. Not all of the windows had screens and some were not able to open due to needed repairs orr replacement. Found excremental on the floors from geckos presumably. Found hair on all of the dish towels in the kitchen. Also found hairr on bath towels. When reaching into the closet to grab a towel in the master bath. My hand hit something. It was an outlet just hanging out. The master bath shower leaked water all over the floor, almost fell when getting out. The internet coverage cannot handle streaming and cell phone coverage is poor at best. While everything in the house worked. The house overall in my opinion needed lots of TLC. I would not recommend this location to anyone who enjoys their technology or for a family. It is better suited for adults who wish to unplug. Be aware you may have to haul away your own rubbish at the end of your stay. Also keep in mind this house is 20 miles from Hilo and about 26 miles from the Hilo Airport.
