Wonderful Vineyard experience

This was our first time staying at Sue's place and we loved it through and through. It is a lovely home, nicely decorated, comfortable and very airy with lots of light. We would definitely return to Sue's house again. Thanks so much, Sue!

A secluded oasis close to the beach

What an ideal property set back from the road surrounded by trees, quiet and very private. This large airy house offers lovey bedrooms, decks, common rooms, and spacious yard. (think hammock and an outdoor shower) It's rare to find a place where you can really relax yet be close to a fabulous beach, and all the Martha's Vineyard has to offer. We liked it so much we are returning in September for another stay.

Wonderful, quiet stay in Martha's Vineyard

Our stay over a long weekend in June was absolutely perfect. The house is located close to Edgartown but far enough to be quiet and feel secluded. It had everything we needed when we cooked a big meal at home -- kitchenware, a grill, big deck to eat our meal and a hammock to sleep in once we were overstuffed with lobster. Sue was very responsive before and throughout our stay, and really helpful with restaurant recommendations! The Artcliff diner was so delicious! We'll be back the next time we visit MV!

June Wedding

We stayed at this wonderful house for a long weekend to attend a wedding and it was just perfect. There was plenty of space for 8 people to be there and not feel like they were on top of each other. The weather was not great the first two days, but we made good use of the screened-in porch. The layout is fantastic as are the furnishings and artwork. I wish we could have stayed longer. It was very quiet and peaceful. I would definitely stay here again. I hope to return soon to this magical island.

MV is my happy place

This is our 3rd time at the Kurker house and we absolutely love the house. We love the spaciousness, the bike route. the privacy and the additional room above the garage. Sue Kurker provides all the comforts we could ask for. You will want for nothing staying here its like being on a compound.

Wonderful Stay!

We had a great stay at Susan’s home. Our family enjoyed spending time on the deck where there was ample, comfy seating. The teens took turns lounging in the hammock in the backyard. We loved the screened in porch in the evenings. There was plenty of space and there was a/c throughout! I enjoyed perusing Susan’s large collection of cookbooks. Susan was very prompt and helpful when I contacted her on our first day! We will be returning!

A lovely vacation home

We had a great stay at Sue’s home! It is simple and cozy, exactly what is wanted for a Vineyard vacation. Long Point is a great location to access everything on the island. We stayed with a family of two adults and two kids plus one set of grandparents and found the space ideal for that. Plenty of room to be together as well as apart when desired. The kitchen is very well-equipped and the new laundry machines got lots of use from us! There are tons of fun games and book to enjoy as well as outdoor seating areas and an outdoor shower, which is a real beach vacation treat. We had a few occasions to be in touch with Sue during the stay (weather impacting travel plans and a maintenance question) and she was very responsive and helpful.

The host is very gracious and always available should you have concerns or questions

This property is amazing. It is really large with several rooms to accommodate all your guests. Sue has thought of all your needs when staying here. The yard is very large where you can enjoy family time after a long day at the beach on the spacious deck or set up volleyball nets to work out the days kinks. My family had a fantastic time and would absolutely stay again.

Better than expected!

My family and I stayed at the property for a week, and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The house is even more beautiful inside than the pictures speak for. The convenience of the location to the Long Point Beach was excellent (7 mins drive). Easy commute to Edgartown and all surrounding areas. The Owner Sue, was extremely accessible and answered any questions we had throughout our stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience, especially for one of the hottest weeks on the island while being 8 months pregnant!

Island Treasure

Please know that the pictures do not do this property enough justice. It might’ve been the first thing I said when we walked in. Beyond clean, spacious, well maintained & bright. You felt like you were far, far away from all your worries and yet right at home. When Sue says the kitchen has everything, she’s not kidding. I wasn’t missing a thing and I cooked several meals during our stay. The refrigerator has a water dispenser and an ice maker so I didn’t even have to run out for more water bottles. The beds were very, very comfortable which is important to me. There is no a/c which is always important to consider when renting on the island but that was fine for our late-June stay. There were several oscillating stand fans and several of the rooms have ceiling fans. The loft gets very warm but mostly during the day and it has windows. My teenage kids enjoyed having that space. Having our car made everything much easier so I do recommend bringing or renting one. Taxis and Uber were expensive considering the location. With the car I was able to easily transport the linens and towels (not provided in this rental) and we were 15-20 mins from most points of interest which made being centrally located nice. Stop & Shop grocery store is 11 minutes from the house. You won’t regret renting this property! It’s just as described, if not better. We hope to return next year for even longer.

Great house for family or friend weekend

THE house which has anything that you can think of for any age in a vacation. The owner is very kind enough to answer any queries you may have at any point of time. I didn’t regret for anything to have been in this house except that I wish I had couple of more days to spend there.

Very well maintained, spacious home

We always have a lovely time during our visit to this home ! It is such a perfect spot for our entire family to relax, enjoy each other's company, and the perfect "launching point" for the rest of the Vineyard, too.... I am from a family of cooks, and appreciated the well-stocked kitchen, and I love to browse the cookbooks (and novels!) throughout the home. (BTW, the new washer/dryer are also great!). We also enjoyed an occasional ride on the bikes in the barn...

Fantastic

Having been a repeat renter for the last six or seven years, we continue to return to Vinyard Haven Meadows as not only is it a fantastic location close to Long Point Beach but is within easy reach of Oak Bluffs, vineyard Haven and Edgartown . Long point is our favorite beach, the house is our favorite house and Martha's Vineyards is our favorite location for a relaxing week on the Island.

Wonderful Stay in MV. Do not look any further!

Location: This wonderful house is less than a mile from the airport and only a short drive from either port that the ferry drops off at. While off the road and secluded, it was very easy to find and access. Additionally, it is a very short drive to a public beach, which we found very enjoyable as well. Because of the central location on the island, all localities are easily accessible and if you do not have a car, the bus stops just a short walk away near the airport. We ended up walking over to the airport to rent a jeep for a couple of days. The Owner: I cant say enough about the owner and the communication back and forth and the ease of the overall renting process. This was the first time I had ever used VRBO or any kind of online rental process in finding a place to stay for a vacation so I was very hesitant and skeptical going in. After the fist email all the way through to the returning of the deposit, communication was top notch, prompt and very helpful in every step of the way. The listing on VRBO is very accurate and my expectations were definitely exceeded. Bottom line, if I can ever make it back to the island, this is the first house I am going to try to stay at. Definitely a great place to stay for its serenity and it's central location for activities. Thanks Again! House: All the amenities you could really ever need. While there is no air conditioning, the amount of windows and fans available throughout the home provided the perfect temperature to enjoy our stay. Full kitchen, full compliment of appliances, and all the dishes, utensils and cookware to handle all of your meals. Fully accommodated 3 adult couples and children in the loft and we did not take advantage of the bedroom above the garage except for showering purposes. With the television available, screened porch, and all of the beach equipment and bikes available in the garage, you have everything at your disposal. The house was very clean and I will say in lieu of the washer and dryer available, I highly recommend using the linen service at the airport for sheets and towels.

Not just for summer

What a wonderful large generous house which in addition to 4 bedrooms offers a family friendly open kitchen, a comfortable living room, den, screened in porch, deck and huge yard with hammock and outside shower. It can easily absorb a very large group with nooks and crannies where everyone can find a place for reading, lolling, and dreaming. The ultimate test was some rainy Fall days which ended up feeling cozy and comfortable in this Martha's vineyard gem.

Wonderful Fall Weekend Getaway

What a perfect spot to celebrate our daughter's 16th birthday! This beautiful home has an ideal layout and location. Although not in town, the home is central to Edgartown, Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs - so great for shopping and exploring all aspects of MV! The kitchen is extremely well equipped with top of the line appliances, granite counter-tops, etc. We hosted a lovely dinner party for our daughter and were delighted with the platters, plates, glasses, etc. that were at our disposal (definitely not something you find in typical rentals). Additionally; as we have young boys and a 16 year old, having the studio space with its own bathroom was ideal. It allowed the girls some privacy (to stay up late, chat, play music and watch movies) and afforded us a peaceful, quiet house in which to relax (ie/ no issues with getting the younger ones to bed!). Speaking of bed, the bedrooms are all very well appointed and the master bedroom is a dream with its high ceilings, private deck and en-suite bathroom with jetted tub! The main floor has plenty of room to spread out and with the added bonus of the screened porch and deck, you just couldn't ask for more. This house is a prefect choice for a multi-generational family or a family that just wants to spread out a little like us. With its multiple bedrooms and baths (including a fantastic outdoor shower), spacious living and dining spaces, this home really is an incredible island retreat. We can’t wait to return!

Total Perfection!

This family compound is perfect. The description on line does not do it justice. Only minutes from one of the most beautiful beaches on earth. The home is both spacious and extremely clean. I would highly recommend this listing to anyone that wants to enjoy Martha's Vineyard!!

Best week on Martha's Vineyard!

I really enjoyed my time at this wonderful home! I stayed with my friends who were renting, and loved having a private studio apartment all to myself. This house is spacious and beautiful and so well stocked. I love to cook and was able to enjoy preparing meals for my friends in the kitchen which had every tool I needed! I loved hanging out on the large, private deck after days at the beach. The hammock wasn't bad either. Long point beach is so close and honestly the most gorgeous beach on the island. I hope to come back every summer. Thanks so much.

Beautiful, tranquil spot

We had such a lovely early fall stay at this great house. The property is so beautiful and the amenities so complete, we spent the majority of our time staying put. In particular, I loved the big, well appointed kitchen, the great deck, the amount of light throughout the house, and the overall sense of ease we enjoyed. The house is very well maintained, very clean and no detail overlooked. The property is lovely, large and private. We were very happy with everything. I would most definitely recommend this listing to anyone looking for a place to feel right at home on the Vineyard. Hope very much to return soon.

Peaceful and Private Vineyard Retreat

This Vineyard home is set in such a beautiful and quiet place. It is impeccably maintained and is bright and sunny and airy. Everything is updated and the yard offers plenty of room for volleyball or badminton or other yard games. My favorite thing about it is how close it is to my favorite beach. We took our bikes down the street and rode for about 20 minutes to Long Point. Probably not a good ride for a younger child and in the summer it might be crazy with the traffic to the beach. The beds were very comfortable and it has plenty of room for a family to spread out. The back deck opens up to a beautiful tranquil setting and has a screened in porch off the side for those rare buggy nights. The owners have rented themselves and understand that it is important to come to a place with toilet paper and saran wrap and other necessary assundries so you don't have to stock up on your visit. While West Tisbury may not be in the heart of all the action it is a 4 mile bike ride to Edgartown and you can easily get to Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs. It's best for those who want to enjoy a more peaceful side of the island.

Our home is privately set; We love the woods and natural beauty of this property. We can play all day and come home to the outdoor shower, hammock, and quiet times on the deck. We enjoy cooking local seafood and sharing meals with friends and family on the screened porch and back deck. Long Point and Lambert's Cove are our favorite beaches on the island so we enjoy being close for easy access. Many memories are being made each time we gather at our island home.

The house is spacious, and bright! We love having the private queen bed studio bedroom above the barn for our visitors. We live on a paved street. Being close to the bike path is an added bonus for family rides to the library, Alley's, Morning Glory Farm, and 7 A bakery ( or long runs! ). Long Point and Lambert's cove are two of the island's most beautiful beaches! With your lease you can access passes to Lambert's Cove.
