About this property

Tranquil Barn Conversion in Helford Passage, Nr Falmouth

Summary:
A unique, renovated barn just 10 minutes walk from Helford Passage beach and Helford Estuary. This historic property is packed with original features and full of character - perfect for those looking for classic Cornish architecture!

The Space:
The house has a master bedroom with double bed and bunk bed - great for families, plus two twin rooms and two bathrooms. There is also a large farmhouse kitchen dining area, living room, outdoor seating, garden with trampoline. And if that weren't enough, there's also an outdoor games room with table tennis, TV, games console and music system!

Once belonging to a local farmer and falling into a state of disrepair, Eve's Barn is now a beautifully renovated barn house that has retained lots of classic Cornish features including original beams, wooden floorboards, stone walls and slate roofing. It is the perfect property for those looking to experience some Cornish architecture in a quiet and peaceful setting.

The house is suited for families and has a large well-equipped kitchen and dining area plus a separate sitting room with a flat screen TV. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, consisting of a ground floor master bedroom with a double bed and a bunk bed, a twin room and a bathroom. The other twin room and bathroom are located at the top of a spiral staircase. There are two travel cots and a high chair available for those with younger children.

Outside, the barn sits in the centre of a large garden with a tranquil pond. This is fenced off, but those with younger children should be aware of this potential hazard. There is also a large outdoor dining area for enjoying outdoor meals, an outhouse games room with speakers and a table tennis table, a trampoline and ample free parking.

Guest Access:
The whole house is available for access, but there are two storage sheds that are locked.

The Neighborhood:
The barn is perfectly situated for exploring the surrounding area and wider Cornwall. Just 15 minutes walk or a 3 minute drive is the fishing village of Helford Passage and beach. Quite literally round the corner you can also find the stunning Trebah Gardens. Mawnan and Mawnan Smith are also nearby where you can find pubs and cafes.

Further afield, but still closeby, is the large town of Falmouth to the north and the Lizard Heritage Coastal area to the South.

An Idyllic Stay in Cornwall
Eve's Barn just down the road from Trebah Gardens and up the road from Helford Passage was the perfect getaway location for us. The place is charming, quirky in all the right ways, comfortable, and well-designed, in a country setting that was just what we were looking for. With a bus stop nearby and public walking paths, even without a car it worked for us.

Wonderful!
My parents both live a few minutes away so I rented the barn to quarantine in for 14 days, with my children and husband, before Christmas. The barn is utterly gorgeous and well-equipped; great kitchen with everything you could need (we only brought a food blender as I have a young baby and toddler), the sitting room is pure hygge perfection, and the bedrooms are all cosy and with good storage. We absolutely adored our stay. The only down side was the management of the barn - the clothes dryer was broken and I messaged the management but never heard back from them (we borrowed a drying rack from my mother in the end). Also, the recycling schedule is not clear at all - it would be really useful to have a highlighted and laminated calendar page to say which days the recycling is collected. I ordered the recycling bags from the council for us and, after we left, I went to the barn to put out the recycling on the appropriate day as I knew there was no-one else staying there, and then returned to put the containers back at the side of the barn when it had been collected. The barn is complete heaven and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in this part of North Helford. Just the management team need to be a little more helpful and proactive.
