About this property

Vecchio Frantoio, Gaiole in Chianti, Siena and Chianti

Vecchio Frantoio is a beautifully restored two-storey stone-built villa in the hamlet of Casanuova di Ama, surrounded by vineyards and olivetrees, near Lecchi in Chianti. You'll find the property has been lovingly restored to a luxurious standard from the ruins of an olive press. With a small cottage also included in the grounds, this is a good choice for a slightly older family or a group of friends marking a special occasion. Inside Vecchio Frantoio, you will be greeted by a pretty pastel colours, terracotta floor tiles and brick archways and a generous sense of space. Bedrooms feature stunning oak floors; the only discussion will be which of your party gets the four-poster. Compensation awaits for the rest of your party in the form of ornate double beds elsewhere.

Both buildings have private terraces, meaning you can enjoy some privacy or mingle as you wish. Either way these are places to simply sit back and take in the superb views. The split-level garden is a delightful place and where you will find a luxurious Jacuzzi - as well as a third terrace. The private pool is another show-stopper, dramatically perched on the edge of the property and with views gazing away across the Tuscan hills.

Vecchio Frantoio is bright and beautiful inside and out. A truly tasteful eye has guided its transformation from ruin to high-end villa. The location is particularly appealing, surrounded by vineyards and the olive groves that used to supply the raw material in the villa's previous incarnation. When you wish to stretch your legs beyond its gates, the village of Lecchi in Chianti and the town of Radda in Chianti are close by.

We spent two beautiful September weeks at Vecchio Frantoio where the spirit and tranquility of Tuscany warmed our hearts and rejuvenated our souls. This property exceeded all our expectations! We were two adult couples seeking a quiet relaxing vacation and this home was perfection. The property is located in a very quiet little hamlet situated perfectly between Siena and Florence. You will need a rental car to fully enjoy this location. This villa had everything we needed and more. The main building housed two large bedrooms each with their own bathroom and a fully functioning kitchen and laundry. The second building was is a beautifully appointed studio with a small kitchen. This provided the right amount of privacy for adult couples but still allowing us to enjoy each other's company. The whole property is meticulously maintained and beautifully appointed. The beautifully landscapes terraces provided endless options from which to enjoy the stunning Tuscan views. The pool and hot tub were just the toppings on the cake. One of the first things we noticed was how quiet the property was. Sitting on the patio, taking in the glorious sunsets with a glass of Chianti Classico...Well, is just doesn't get better than that. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Ms. Erjolla was a pure delight and took wonderful care of us. Booking through To Tuscany was a breeze. Communications and directions from To Tuscany were easy and efficient. This was the perfect vacation and we couldn't be happier.
