About this property

Contemporary 18th Century Barn Conversion with Gym and Games Room

Roost Barn was originally a 1740’s farm building and transformed into a luxury barn stay in 2019. The barn has underfloor heating, a wood burning stove and two private courtyards. Full of character including exposed oak beams, the barn sleeps 2 to 6 people with a bright and airy downstairs king size master bedroom, a further upstairs twin bedroom and an additional double sofa bed in the vaulted ceiling lounge with separate WC. There is a gym and games room on-site shared with our other barn.

Located on the Somerset/Wiltshire border in the semi-rural hamlet of Woolley Green, Roost Barn is within a short walking distance of historic Bradford on Avon and only a 20 minute drive or 15 minute train ride to beautiful Georgian Bath. You can also catch a direct bus to Bath less than half a mile away. There is a spa hotel 100m close by with restaurant and treatments available. 800m away is an excellent pub/restaurant and half a mile further on are a number of good restaurants and pubs in picturesque Bradford on Avon. The barn is close to a public footpath leading to open fields and panoramic views of the Wiltshire downs and Salisbury Plain.

The barn was converted to the highest standard and has everything needed for a luxurious, relaxing break. The kitchen/diner is fully equipped to feed and seat 6 people in comfort. For those who need to work or complete their studies, there is separate work area with desk with wi-fi throughout the building. Outside are two private patios/courtyards with a barbecue and wooden dining furniture.

The barn is child friendly with fitted stair gates, fireguard, cot, highchair and bed guards. (on request)

The kitchen was well stocked with any thing you would require for meals, including an outside bbq. The beds, linens and towels were just right. The bathrooms were clean and well equiped. We call it the "bardominioum"! It has everything you need. The games room and gym are wonderful additions. Originally we looked at staying in Bathe and I am so glad we didnt as Bradford en Avon was a beautiful village with some excellent dining options and lovely walking paths along the river. Beautiful medieval architecture. The local pub (The George) which is a short walk away was perfect! We met lots of locals and the staff were friendly and the food amazing. Highly recomend this property.

A wonderful Place
Our stay at Roost barn was wonderful. The place was incredibly well appointed, and the location (an easy stroll into Bradford-On-Avon) was perfect. The kids and my Dad really enjoyed the games room as well. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. I will recommend Roost barn to anyone needing to stay in the area. Thank you for the memories.

Perfect!
Birthday weekend for my son who lives half an hour away but no room to put us up so we booked Roosters Barn so we could all stay Arrived Friday to the most stunning courtyard and on entering the Barn were blown away by the accommodation. We dined out at The George about half a mile away. The meal was truly amazing and I would recommend you to try it out. Where ever we stay we always dine locally as we like to support the community we are staying in. Saturday evening my daughter in law cooked a lovely meal for all of us, helped by the fact everything she needed in the form of pots pans utensils baking trays and much more was provided for in the beautiful kitchen and we spent the evening chatting by the log burner. Truly wonderful place to stay and we will be back
