About this property

'The Nook' at Further Harrop Farm

This beautiful property has been lovingly and thoughtfully converted from our once traditional stone barns into the luxury living space we have to offer today.
(We also have available our 3 bed property 'The Cottage' which sleeps 5 adults for any larger parties wanting to book both.)

The Nook is a quaint cottage which comfortably accommodates 2 adults.
Beautifully fitted out to the highest standards, it is immaculate, warm and very welcoming.

With it’s upstairs/downstairs layout it means you have lovely views of the countryside bringing in natural light but maintaining your privacy at all times.

Upstairs is a newly fitted Kitchen with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric oven and hob, fully equipped with new appliances, cutlery and crockery.
The kitchen features a breakfast bar seated for two and is open plan to a cosy living area with wall mounted TV.
As you sit relaxing you look directly out of a glass door, which provides wonderful natural light and lovely views. This door also leads outside via stone steps that are positioned at the side of the cottage where you will find outdoor seating to enjoy the peace and tranquility of this beautiful area and perhaps even catch a glimpse of the varied wildlife that often visit the farm.
Downstairs is a welcoming double bedroom with fitted wardrobes and dressing table and off the hallway is a beautiful newly fitted bathroom with wet room shower.
There is also underfloor heating throughout downstairs which means there’s constant warmth when needed.

Essentials of tea, coffee, milk etc provided for your convenience.

There is free onsite off road parking and for those cyclists wishing to bring their own bikes we offer a secure lockup and wash off area.

For those who wish to be connected to the outside world you can do so with ease with the benefit of high speed internet.

Although the gardens are for private family use their views can be enjoyed from the Nook and there are several other seating areas around the grounds for you to enjoy. Guests also have use of our newly planted orchard which has a picnic bench and fire pit area for you to sit out with a glass of wine or enjoy some alfresco dining or a quiet spot to read and reflect on your day.

With 70acres of farmland you certainly won't be short of outdoor space!

The area:
Situated in the Peak District National Park you would never think that you were only 20 minutes from Manchester Airport and 18 miles to Manchester City Centre with its thriving attractions of great restaurants, bars, museums, galleries, theatres, concert venues and shops,

Less than 5 miles away is the attractive village of Prestbury with its cobbled streets, assortment of timber framed Tudor buildings, acclaimed restaurants, wine bars, boutique shops and historic pubs all clustered around it’s sandstone church.

For those wanting the convenience of a larger choice of shops and supermarkets the town of Macclesfield is just a 10minute drive away.

On the doorstep the selection of restaurants is equally as good with The Swan that serves great food and beer situated in the picturesque village of Kettleshulme which is less than a mile away. The larger and very popular village of Bollington is 2 miles away which again has a choice of lovely restaurants and pubs including ‘The Lime Tree’ which serves all local produce and ‘The Vine’ that brews its own beer!
Bollington also boasts a fantastic selection of local Butchers, Bakeries, Coffee shops, Newsagents, Florists, Fish and chip shop, Post office, Pharmacy as well as a Co op supermarket.

Basically everything you could want all on your doorstep whilst feeling like you really have escaped to the peace and simplicity of the hills and countryside.

First class cottage in a rural setting.
Thanks to Sara's directions finding the place went without a hitch. We had no trouble finding all the walks we wanted to do from here. Returning at night we were welcomed by a lovely long and winding driveway down to the farm and our cottage. The cottage was cozy and perfect for two people to spend their evenings relaxing to the quiet of the countryside. I was impressed with the level of details that went in to making this a truly exceptional accommodation.

Klein aber fein! - Small but nice!
A lovely little cottage flat that has everything you need for two. The apartment is very well equipped and comfortably furnished. It is in a nice quiet location and is a good starting point to the countless walking routes of the Peak District. But it is also not far to the shopping facilities, e.g. in Maccelsfield. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Marvelous
This place is the perfect place to go and enjoy time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The location is beautiful and the owners are super helpful and made our stay super enjoyable. They gave us suggestions on where to go and get things we needed. There are also so many hiking trails all around! If you visit this area and are not an avid biker, you will definitely will need a car. We rented a car at the airport and it was perfect to move around. FYI: the smaller the car the better for all the rural roads in England. Also, read the notebook the owners provide at the beginning of your stay so you know how to leave the place afterwards. You will not regret staying here. It will be a memorable holiday/vacation.

Great stay at the nook
First time in the Peak District for us. Fantastic stay at the nook at further harrop farm. The property, people, views, everything was great. Unbelievable setting with picture perfect views. The Nook had absolutely everything you could wish for. Modern living in a rural setting. Fabulous. Would also like to mention the local celebrity “dolly the dog” who visited us every evening at the nook, she was lovely but not forgetting Alfie and Charlie (dogs). All in all perfect, can not say anymore. Thank you Sara and Wilson.
