Villa Xagnado

Standing alone on a hilltop just outside the small village of Kato Valsamonero, with outstandingly beautiful rural views, the reason for the name given to this villa is self-evident. Xagnadevo, in Greek, is to be overwhelmed with the viewpoint. Set within a mature garden this is a very peaceful environment to lounge by the pool and listen to the birdsong.
This lovely two bedroom villa is very comfortable and spacious. Ample facilities for spending days doing just absolutely nothing but if the need to explore does take over then it's only a short drive to the nearby villages or to Rethymnon to wander through the narrow alleyways or visit the castle which stands above it.

Location- Kato Valsamonero
Tiny Kato Valsamonero has no facilities to speak of but there's a minimarket just 4 kms away in Agios Antonis plus a taverna owned by a relative of the owner of Villa Xagnado, who obligingly is more than happy to deliver a beautiful taverna meal to your door on request. The picturesque villages of Gerani, Prines and Atsipopoulou with more shops and tavernas are a little under 15 mins drive away and the buzzing town of Rethymnon a 25min drive.
Kamari Beach is the nearest spot to dip your toes in the sea just a 15min drive away but traveling a little further west takes you to the fabulous 7 kms long stretch of sand which is Georgioupolis Beach with tavernas dotted along its length.
The owners, Stratos & Margarita offer their guests a welcome basket of their homemade honey, raki, wine and olive oil on arrival.

Swimming Pool - 3.50m x 6m tiled with a ladder for entry. Pool depths 0.90m -1.30m.
Sun Terrace - Furnished with sun loungers and umbrellas plus a small area of lawn.
Mountain View Dining Terrace - Covered dining area with table and chairs. Mountain and pool views.
Rear Covered Terrace – Built-in BBQ, Cretan wood oven and sink. Wooden table with chairs under pergola with garden views.
Garden – Small areas of lawn with flowering shrubs and trees at the side and rear.
Upper Balcony – Large first floor balcony with views towards the White Mountains and the village of Kato Valsamonero with the peaks of Mt Ida.

Sitting Area – Comfy L shaped sofa, plasma TV with satellite (limited channels/news only), DVD player, glass patio windows to the covered dining terrace with pool and garden view. Air Con Unit.
Dining Area - Wooden table and seating for four.
Kitchen Area - Wooden fitted cupboards, double sink, Dolce Gusto espresso coffee machine, filter coffee machine, electric oven with hobs, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer. Glass door to the covered rear dining terrace with garden views.

Double bedroom – Double bed. Window with pool and garden view. Air Con Unit.

Shower room - Tiled walk in shower, wash hand basin, WC and washing machine.

First Floor
Twin bedroom - Two single beds. Glass door with a few steps up to mountain & village view terrace. Mezzanine style room with sloping wooden ceiling and no door to close off from lower level.
Air con unit.

Housekeeping
Your Villa will be prepared for you on arrival with fresh bath and hand towels and all beds made up.
For stays of 7 nights or more - house towels will be changed every 3 - 4 days.
For stays of 14 nights or more - bed linen will be changed every 7 days.
Pool/beach towels - one per person for the duration of your stay.


Parking - There is space for parking inside the villa grounds which is covered.
