About this property

Asgard House - Modern, Cosy, Highland House in the Cairngorms National Park

Asgard House was built in September 2020, and is part of an exciting new development located in Grantown-on-Spey. The house is fully equipped, including underfloor heating, WiFi, dishwasher, washer-dryer, fresh linen and towels. A maximum of 1 well behaved dog is welcome.

Please note that the estate the house is situated on is still under development and this is reflected in the price. This means that some house plots are still being built near to the house, and construction workers may be visible during working hours.

Asgard house is ideally situated to access the Malt Whisky Trail and the wonderful Cairngorms National Park. There are golf courses close by in Ballindalloch, Grantown, Carrbridge and Boat of Garten. For walkers, the Speyside Way and the Dava way are on the doorstep and the River Spey offers excellent fishing for anglers. It is a short drive to a wide range of other outdoor pursuits, museums and castles.

Grantown has a nice mix of independent shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways. A local Co-op store is located on the town square for larger grocery shopping. The town square is a 5 minute walk from the house.

The property has a No-Smoking policy inside the house. The property consists of a driveway for 2 cars. I will arrange to meet guests at the property at a convenient time to hand the keys over. We do ask that dogs are not left unattended at anytime. We would prefer that dogs are not allowed on the sofa or beds.

The nearest airport is located in Inverness, which is located 29 miles away. Cars can be rented from the airport. The nearest train station is Aviemore, which is 14 miles away.

Grantown is accessed via the A95. The A9,which is the main road to Edinburgh or Inverness,is located 9 miles away. Grantown is serviced by regular bus routes connecting to Inverness and the surrounding villages of the Cairngorms.

Lovely newbuild house
The house was spotlessly clean for our arrival, minimalistic Scandinavian style decor and the most comfortable beds and pillows which are often forgotten about in holiday homes and are so important, we all want a good sleep after a busy day exploring! Kitchen was well equipped (only thing missing was a cheese grater), showers powerful, plenty of storage throughout the house and loved the patio doors out to the garden which were open moat of the time. The only downsides for me were the sofas were not overly comfortable and a fan would have been helpful in the extremely hot weather. Although this is unusual it's becoming more common and the house is so well insulated it retains the heat. Lots to do in and around Grantown on Spey so this is a great place for a base for many outdoor activities. Would recommend Craggan outdoors just down the road and so many other places to visit.

A great house in a beautiful town close to the River Spey
After four days in Edinburgh, this was just the right contrast program for our last week of vacation. Grantown is very centrally located. All activities: hiking, whisky tasting, sightseeing, ... . On site there is everything necessary for daily needs. Some nice restaurant and bars are within easy walking distance. The house is very new and the equipment coincides with the ad on booking com. The owner has written a small manual, a kind of instruction manual. In addition, the contact details of all important facilities are included and, how nice, the menus of the local restaurants. Also very good suggestions for leisure activities are included. Everything was very clean and well prepared. Dishwasher and washing machine tabs, as well as coffee, tea, and milk were available.

Excellent!
Beautiful, spacious and immaculately clean property. Kitchen well equipped. The only thing which would be useful is a garden shed. My husband took his mountain bike and had no where to store it when it rained. Other than that, couldn’t fault the property in any way.

Why they chose this property

Asgard is a lovely, newly built property in a desirable area of the town. The house is pet friendly and is within a 5 min walk of the Dava Way, Speyside Way or Anagach Woods. The space is a well insulated, triple glazed and comfy 3 bedroom property with under floor heating and consists of all mod cons.

There is a spacious shower room and WC on the ground floor, along with a modern shower and bathroom upstairs. The Kitchen is fully equipped and is open plan to the dining/living area. French doors give access to the Garden. The lounge comprises of 2 sofas and comes equipped with a 43 inch 4K Smart TV.

Upstairs consists of 3 bedrooms and a bathroom. The master bedroom has a king size bed and is equipped with a 43 inch 4K Smart TV. The second bedroom also comes with a King Size bed. The third bedroom has a single bed. All bedrooms have built in wardrobes with hangers. The house has an accessible south facing garden. Reliable BT WiFi is available in all rooms and download speeds average around 50 Mbps.

Please note that the estate is still under development and this is reflected in the price. This means that some house plots are still being built near to the house, and construction workers may be visible during working hours.
