About this property

Limestone House (4), Burnham Market, Norfolk

Luxuriously-appointed and fabulously indulgent, Limestone House will hold you in awe the moment you step inside. Situated in Burnham Market, this stunning detached property is perfect for those seeking a very private, peaceful and spacious retreat from the outside world. The location offers numerous fine dining options, with the North Norfolk's best beaches and sailing harbours just a short car ride away.

Oozing relaxed laid-back style and sitting behind a gated and walled front garden, this large detached property is the ultimate luxurious pad. With top-notch furnishings, immensely comfortable beds, crisp white linens and beautiful bathrooms, Limestone House is the ultimate boutique retreat. But it's not only the inside that delivers, the pretty walled rear garden with large terrace and outdoor seating and large barbecue/stove is something that will make entertaining a breeze. With fresh local fish and lobster available from the village fishmongers and straight from the boat at Brancaster Staithe, you might not want to stray too far.

Decorated inside in a very soft and calming palette of limestone and white, this house has a timeless and classic ambience. Very much a grown-up house for one or two couples or a group of friends, it would be perfect for guests who are seeking a house with large rooms and oodles of living space which also provides the opportunity to work from home. The ground floor, open-plan living area is divided into three rooms; a whiter-than-white sitting area featuring large Georgian-style windows, french doors opening onto the garden and a beautiful limestone fireplace with wood burning stove, creating a wonderful warm and cosy ambience on an evening, whilst you and your guests relax on the lush and comfy sofas. The soft white/ grey kitchen is a complete joy, offering a social entertaining space beneath a vaulted ceiling with three huge lanterns. With every appliance to hand including two fridges, two freezers, a large stove, dishwasher and Nespresso coffee machine, you will be never short of anything. And with a separate utility room too, you can be assured that every practical need is catered for, including a wine fridge. Between the sitting room and kitchen you will find a stunning dining area with more french doors to the garden, so if you want to cook and eat-in, or indeed wish a private chef to visit, you are well-catered for.

From the stunning entrance hall with huge lantern, there is a beautiful limed oak staircase and galleried landing, with access to two large and light bedrooms; one super-king size master with a large en-suite bathroom with a luxury doubled-ended French-style slipper bath and dressing room; and another super-king size bedroom with luxury shower en-suite and dressing room. The beds are beautifully dressed in White Linen Company luxury linens with luxury mattresses and soft as down pillows. The bathrooms have underfloor heating and the finest of fixtures and fittings and drench shower heads. The copious amounts of hot water and deep baths will ensure everyone is dressed and ready for supper when you want to head out. On days when you don't need to rush, star gaze or storm watch from the tub.

After a peaceful night's sleeps, wake up refreshed and take a short five minute stroll to the village centre, where you can buy good fresh coffee, warm bread and croissants from No.33 bakery and something for lunch or a picnic from the Tuscan deli. Make sure you make a reservation at Socius, No.Twenty9 or The Hoste, which again are just a short five-minute walk away. But if you want to be a tad more energetic, then drive just 5-10 minutes to feel the sand between your toes on Holkham or Brancaster beach. Sail or paddleboard from Burnham Overy or Brancaster Staithe and then watch the sun go down as you return on a high tide. Or simply book a table at The White Horse to enjoy a sundowner or two, whilst watching others on the water and enjoy the mesmerising views across to Scolt Head Island. To the front of this handsome property there is parking for at least four cars.

Limestone House is also available as a sleeps eight option including a downstairs bedroom, and an additional bedroom on the first floor: Limestone House (8).

8/10 Good

Lovely house, very comfortable and warm
Really lovely house, great location. Comfortable beds, amazing kitchen and cosy sitting room. The only issue was the Hideaways folder…inaccurate information for area. One taxi firm listed have not worked for 7 years. Farmers market in Sandringham is said to be 4th Saturday of month, this seems to relate to Sandringham in Australia! Market was actually on the Sunday.
