For shopping and The Metro Centre and city life, Newcastle City is an hour’s drive, and there are many bars, restaurants, art galleries and museums to while away the time.

Church View is ideally located in the Wear Valley, an Area of Outstanding Beauty, so you can expect beautiful landscapes and views. There is golf and horse riding nearby. Shops and restaurants are within 1 mile of the house and the pub is only 10 yards away! Just 4 miles away is Hamsterley Forest where you can enjoy lovely walks, cycle trails, and sporting and leisure activities.

Durham City is just 6 miles from Church View. Known as the ‘perfect little city, Durham has the best mix of everything and it all blends seamlessly. It retains its medieval heritage but it also has a modern and vibrant twist. It boasts lush green landscapes but it also has busy cobbled streets with independent shops, bars and restaurants.

The beautiful Durham Dales of Weardale and Teesdale with High Force, England’s highest waterfall, are half an hour’s drive away. The magnificent Northumberland beaches and ancient Castles, the Lake District or Yorkshire Dales are easily reached for superb days out.
