Ty Rhos Newydd: Stunning pet-friendly, family retreat on Anglesey

Welcome to Ty Rhos Newydd. The perfect holiday home for peaceful, relaxing family holidays on Anglesey.

Check In: 4pm | Check Out: 10am

The contemporary accommodation features a hot tub (optional extra), cinema, games room and a two-acre paddock. Wake up in the morning and look out to idyllic countryside views as far as the eye can see, and then head out for a brisk morning walk. Your dogs will be in seventh heaven here!
Set in the peaceful location of Pencraigwen on the east side of Anglesey, Ty Rhos Newydd is brilliant, as you are ensconced in a totally relaxing environment, and yet just two miles away you have Lligwy beach, 5.5 miles to Moelfre village, five miles to the Anglesey Coastal Path, and Red Wharf Bay and the beaches of Benllech are just eight miles away.
With five spacious bedrooms, the accommodation is ideal for relaxing family or friend get-togethers and the owners have thought of everything with fabulous special touches for both two and four-legged guests.
What's more, there are three bedrooms on the ground floor making Ty Rhos Newydd ideal for guests who have difficulty with stairs and families with toddlers.

On the ground floor

Head in through the main entrance where you'll find a spacious hallway to hang your coats and leave your shoes and muddy wellies.
There is so much natural light illuminating the ground floor rooms. It has a beautiful light and airy feel, but with the underfloor heating and a wood burner in the living room, Ty Rhos Newydd is a great place to stay whatever the season.
To the left of the hallway is the sensational dining room with its double-height cathedral ceiling and a wall of bi-fold glass windows, which open out to the patio and on to the beautiful lawned gardens.
The bespoke dining table comfortably seats 10 guests and is perfect for family meals and formal celebrations. Can you imagine Christmas dinner around this table!?
For more informal inside dining, you have the option to use the breakfast island with its stylish bar. Your kids will want to eat here every day!
The dining room leads into the living room, which somehow manages to combine spaciousness with a cosy feel. Stripped wood floors, a comfortable leather sofa and armchairs, a large smart TV, and a feature fireplace with its crackling wood burner, all come together to make this a really homely space to relax in after a day's adventure on Anglesey.
The kitchen is also found to the left of the main entrance and what a kitchen it is! Fully equipped with plenty of granite work surfaces to prepare meals, an electric range oven, dishwasher, American style fridge/freezer, and a smart TV, are just some of the great features that you'll find in the kitchen.
There is also a utility room next to the kitchen with a washing machine, tumble dryer and separate guest toilet.

Ground-floor bedrooms

There are three bedrooms on the ground floor:

A King-size bedroom with a zip and link bed which can be separated into two twin beds (on request). This bedroom features an en suite wet room and a Smart TV. Two further en suite double bedrooms with immaculate shower rooms and toilet.

A bespoke oak staircase takes you up the first-floor landing with a seating area and two comfortable sofas. Grab a cup of tea and a good book, or just chill out and enjoy the glorious views.
The cinema room is found on the first floor which features a projector, smart TV, Bose sound systems and ultra comfortable reclining cinema seats.

First-floor bedrooms

There are two further bedrooms on the first floor:
The impressive king-size bedroom has a wall-mounted Smart TV and a stunning en suite bathroom with a large walk-in shower, freestanding bath, washbasin and toilet.
A further double bedroom is furnished with a zip and link bed zip which can be separated into two twin beds (on request). There is an en suite shower room also with a washbasin and toilet. All of the upstairs rooms feature skylight windows with lovely views.

Moelfre Village and coastline

Situated on the east coast of Anglesey in North Wales, Moelfre village is one of those quintessential destinations that stay imprinted on your mind forever as a happy holiday memory. The picturesque maritime village is nestled within a pretty bay with its quaint pebble beach, working Lifeboat Station and the Moelfre Seawatch Centre. It's also a great spot for amateur and skilled fishing enthusiasts, and for dolphin spotting! Small but perfectly formed, the village itself has a selection of cafes and small stores, but it's what surrounds Moelfre that attracts visitors during the summer.
The village sits on the Anglesey Coastal Path with its myriad of cycling and hiking routes and footpaths. What's more, there is a stretch of the coastal path at Moelfre which is accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs, so that everybody can enjoy the spectacular scenery.
Just a few minutes along the coast is beautiful Lligwy Beach, one of Anglesey's best family-friendly beaches. Backed by sand dunes, the wide, clean sandy beach is perfect for paddling in the shallow waters and sand-castle competitions. It's also popular with water sports enthusiasts, so whether you want a relaxing family day on the beach or an adrenaline-filled day of windsurfing, head to Lligwy Beach.
To the west of Moelfre village is the larger village of Benllech, a popular Anglesey beach destination, and further along the coast is the gorgeous natural reserve of Red Wharf Bay. If you want to explore the culture and history of Anglesey, there is plenty to see and do in the local area, such as the Gwylfan Moelfre Seawatch (RNLI) in Moelfre, the Copper Kingdom Museum at Amlwch (17 mins), and Beaumaris Castle (25 mins).
Treat the children during your stay with a visit to Pili Palas Nature World (17 mins) or Anglesey Sea Zoo (32 mins).
Our holiday homes in and around Moelfre village on the east coast of Anglesey are ideal as a base to explore everything this wonderful North Wales destination has to offer.

10/10 Excellent

Beautiful, modern house in the stunning Anglesey countryside.
The house was beautiful, modern and clean. It was down a country lane which could have done with a sign post but was rewarding when we arrived. Was warm and comfortable, well stocked and really lovely place to stay. Nice walks and friendly locals

Excellent half term stay ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ty Rhos Newydd is a stunning short break getaway. The house is amazing and the children loved the games room and cinema room. There’s lots of room and the kitchen is incredibly well equipped! The property is a short drive to various things to do, so whilst there’s nothing locally to walk to, you are never far from something to do!

8/10 Good

A lovely weekend but a bit Disappointing…
We arrived at Ty Rhos Newydd as it was getting dark, so hadn’t spotted the multiple signs on the neighbours vans, car & house - “Residents against Holiday homes” etc… on arrival the house smelt of drains & and the WiFi wasn’t working. I have the same bt hub at home, so tried resetting it multiple times but couldn’t get it to work. Non of us had any phone signal so we had to walk to the shared driveway to get 3G. This was annoying the neighbours. But we had no other way of contacting maintenance re the WiFi being down / TVs not working. There were also some new mums in my group who were wanting to check in with partners & kids at home…paid extra for the use of the hot tub, but the key to unlock the hot tub straps was stuck in a jammed key box. The house has lots of positives too! Comfy beds, bright and airy. Well equipped kitchen etc. I got in touch with customer service after our stay - really defensive and suggested we were basically lying about the smell and WiFi. They also said we had caused damage to the hot tub and this was a blatant lie. Unsatisfactory!

An amazing house
This house is amazing. Big and spacious for our family to be together and also to break away. High quality home that has a WOW factor. The only downside is that it is situated quite a way down a dirt/ grass track

8/10 Good

A Wonderful Stay
This property was exceptional, and suited the needs for our family celebrating a big birthday/anniversary. The house was exceptionally clean, well equipped internally, and matched the pictures/property description. We loved that each bedroom had its own en-suite, and there was a toilet in the utility (close to the hot tub/games room). We spoke to the owner on our last day, and made some suggested improvements which would have put the icing on the cake for us. These included a BBQ (we had thought we had seen that one was available) along with comfortable seat pads for the bench seats. It would also be good to change the pans with metal handles (for safety, as they can burn your hands when in use), the bean bags in the lounge are a great addition for guests use when everyone tries to sit in there, but could use the addition of some more beans for comfort. Finally, the games room is looking a little tired, and some improvements here might be necessary in the near future. We also found a few anomalies between the literature supplied by the owners/Anglesey Holiday Lettings, which needs to be addressed. These are generally just some little niggles we encountered that could be improved upon easily, guests are paying a premium for a quality stay, and we understand expectations are different for all. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and loved the isolated location (if you’re a future guest, don’t think you’re heading in the wrong direction down tiny lanes, the instructions provided by the Lettings Company were ideal). Thanks go to the owners for giving us a magical week making memories with 3 generations, who all enjoyed themselves. For any future guests looking for a nice meal, head to the Bay View Restaurant in the Gwesty Gadlys Hotel, Caemes Bay. We enjoyed an amazing Sunday lunch and midweek meal there, well worth a visit.
