Portugal, in general, is a laid-back place but Alentejo takes that to another level.
Everything happens at its own pace and people still operate the way they would have done a hundred years ago. It is very pure and full of character.
Just an hour and a half from Lisbon, but city life is completely stripped away.
At night, with virtually no light pollution, the stars are myriad in the dark sky.
That is where contemporary and comfortable Monte do Vale , which accommodates up to 10 adults + 2 kids, is located in the middle of a stubborn, slow-moving, durable nature.
