About this property

Charming Apartment, Antibes Old Town, Ramparts.

Whatever the season, the Mediterranean climate of the Cote D' Azur allows you to enjoy the daily market and shop for your fresh produce. The marina and town beach are only a short stroll through the arched entrance to the old town. The Picasso museum, situated on the ramparts is a short walk from the apartment.

The apartment is tastefully decorated and comprises a comfortable lounge with adjoining dining area and a separate fitted kitchen which includes, fridge, cooker and dishwasher, there is also a washing machine . A spiral staircase leads onto the first floor landing of the apartment where there is a double bedroom with vanity unit and 4 speed ceiling fan and air-conditioning . Off this landing there is also a shower room with 1200 by 800 shower, washbasin and toilet. A further staircase leads to the attic bedroom which has a 200 by 90 single bed situated beneath the exposed beam and a single chair bed which can be opened up if necessary to provide an additional 190 by 80 single bed; this bedroom also has air-conditioning.

There is a wide choice of restaurants within a short walk of our apartment. The Provencal market is open each morning (except Mondays) from 6.00 a.m. with an extended market on Thursday and Sunday. Craft stalls are open until late and there are usually bric-a-brac markets twice a week. If you wish to travel further afield, Aix en Provence is easily reached by road within 2 hours, whilst Monte Carlo is under an hours train journey away.

Charming apartment in ideal location
This property could not be better located. It is a stone’s throw from the market, the Picasso Museum, the ramparts, the lovely Gravette Beach, etc, all while nestled on a very quiet little street. The property was clean and comfortable for a 6-day visit. Throughout, Sue and Norm were very easy to communicate with, and we appreciated them checking in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Merci!

Perfect for some
This apartment is in a prime location for the adventurous tourist who is looking for crowds to mingle with and parties to attend at night. Sadly, my mother (70 yrs) and I (46 yrs) were hoping to find relaxation and comfort in a rental. I see this rental as being one that is used as a stopping point between adventures. Due to the heat, my mom and I chose to stay indoors during the day and the apartment was hard to navigate at our ages, with our stereotypical American waistlines. The spiral staircase was very difficult to ascend on our own and impossible to ascend with luggage. We used the dining table to hold our suitcases and clothes. There is no A/C in the living room and the bathroom is on the 2nd level, so we had to use the spiral staircase to find relief from the heat and to use the restroom for any reason. The Q-Park was very user friendly to use, but is often very full, regardless if you have a reservation or not. For this rental, I'd suggest avoiding having a car. The location is beyond beautiful, but due to our personal situations, we will not be returning. I hope this helps with making the right choice for everyone involved. Norman and Sue were very kind and helpful throughout our stay.

Antibes
A great apartment in the heart of old town Antibes. A quiet residential street, but also near all the main attractions. Air conditioning and fan were great additions.

Sue and I are Francophiles and have holidayed in various parts of France for over 30 years. Having since relocated to live in the Luberon area of Provence not far from Avignon, we have made France our home and have been here permanently since 2009. We have nearly 20 years of rental property management and have an apartment in L'Isle sur la Sorgue as well as a rental gite at our home here in Provence

Why they chose this property

We bought this lovely property in 1999 having fallen in love with Antibes on an earlier holiday there with friends. The apartment's charm won us over immediately and it's location met everything we could have hoped for. It is situated on the first, second and third floors of a typical Antiboise house and this very much appealed to us.

What makes this property unique

It didn't take us long to fall for our lovely apartment as it is perfectly located on a narrow and cobbled pedestrian street with no through traffic on the Ramparts of Old Antibes. It is only a couple of minutes from the wonderful daily Provencal market, the plentiful restaurants, bars, the beach and all that Antibes has to offer. Our street is one of the prettiest in the Old Town and even has it's own "hanging garden" owned and tended by our neighbours just across the street from our apartment window!
