January Breakaway
Family trip to Vermont could not have been better. The house felt like our home for the weekend stay. Everything was well explained and spelled out for us so we knew the ins and out of the place quickly. Kitchen was stocked with tons of items to make our cooking a breeze. The board games were also much appreciated. Last but no least the fire place was the central piece of our stay - we had the absolute best fires. Great times! Thank you so much !!!

Clean and cozy family-friendly home close to all
We loved our stay at Hathaway House! The property was extremely clean (and I have ridiculously high standards :)) and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. My husband was happy and impressed that the fireplace was pre-setup with wood and paper and all he had to do was light a match! :) The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We were a 5 min drive from Mount Snow which was perfect, and only 30 minutes from Stratton. Curt was so helpful, informative and responsive and the check in process was so easy. Overall a great stay and we hope to return!

Nice getaway
Great house for a group with kids, very little sound transmission between floors, two living rooms for multiple simultaneous activities.

Wonderful Retreat!
My siblings and I enjoyed a fabulous weekend at the Hathaway House. They have thought of all the details here, even having the wood in the fireplace ready to go when we got there. The directions for everything were easy to understand and reasonable to do. We enjoyed the sound system, the deck, the cozy living room, and we each had our own bedroom retreat. It was perfect and we hated to leave. Curt was responsive and we thank him for the delicious maple syrup gift. Great times here and we hope we can come back one day!

Wonderful Family Getaway
We had a great time at this property. We are a 3 generation family ranging in age from 18 - 91. The house accommodated us beautifully. Each generation had a floor to themselves but there was also plenty of space for us to hang out together. There is a lovely very private deck which we also enjoyed. The house is close to very good casual restaurants and fun activities.

My husband grew up in Western Massachusetts skiing with his family and I am a Florida native who now enjoys fishing and waterskiing on nearby Vermont Rivers and Lakes. We live in the New Jersey suburbs. My husband is a professional and I am an interior designer. Vermont is the family escape we look forward to, enjoying outdoor activities and then relaxing by the fire or hanging out on the deck in the summer.

Why they chose this property

We really use this property year round. We call it our Ski House in the Winter and our "Lake" house in the summer. We Kayak, fish from our canoe and taught our kids to waterski all within 5 miles of the house.
It is close to so much more than we imagined. Tucked into the trees on the side of the mountain, makes this spot feel so private, the VAST trail acts as an additional buffer from car traffic. We love that it feels so private, yet you are a short walk to a convenient store , great diner, bakery and hiking trails!

What makes this property unique

We love the intimate feel of this home with its barnwood paneling, and furniture and accessories that make it feel like home and not a rental. It is nestled on the side of a mountain. When on the "L" shaped deck, you feel like you are in a tree house. In the winter , we enjoy hanging out in front of the huge barnwood fireplace on the second floor, playing music and talking with freinds. The lower level is a great Apre-ski spot for shooting pool, playing games and hanging out at the"English Pub" style bar with a roaring fire in the open-flame wood stove . I love that this house "essentially" has two fireplaces. The layout also allows for kids to hang out in one space and adult in another, if desired.
