Secluded Beautiful Home on Deerskin Lake!

Seclusion and relaxation await you and your family on Deerskin Lake in Eagle River. Shangri Lodge is a full log home surrounded by woods and sits on the sandy shores of one of Vilas County's wonderful lakes. The home has a covered porch that runs along the front of the house and offers you spectacular views rain or shine. The stone fireplace and log beams inside the house set the tone for a north wood's experience like no other. The home recently has added central air conditioning!

The home comes with a private pier and a beautiful stone fire pit that overlooks the lake. The master bedroom (on the main level) has a King size bed, a wall of windows that provide awesome views of the lake, and a patio door that exits to a secluded stone patio. The second bedroom (also on the main level) has 2 full size beds and a crib; a pack 'n play is also provided. The third bedroom is in the lower level and has a Queen bed. The walk-out lower level has a rec room with a wet bar for those late night gatherings! Musky Bay also has a washer and dryer, dish washer, WI-FI, a DVD player and gas and wood-burning fireplaces.

Shangri Lodge rents from Friday to Friday during the summer months and is pet friendly for a $100 fee per dog with a max of 2. Undisclosed pets will be charged at a minimum of $150 per pet.

It was a fabulous visit!!! The cabin was stunning! So comfortable for the 12 of Us! The decorations where beautiful! I wish whom ever decorated would do my barn in Tennessee LOL! The kitchen was FULLY stock with food processor, crock pots etc!!! Very nice job! Would like to know where or who made the rock chair on the front porch, SO comfortable. You can’t go wrong by renting this cabin!!! We will be back for sure!!!!

Great winter stay
We had a wonderful time here. The cabin was nicely decorated and updated. We had plenty of room for 6 adults and one dog. We rented snowmobiles from Boat Sport. The trails are close to the cabin and easy to get on/off. We loved the natural wood burning fireplace and the gas fireplace downstairs. We definitely would stay here again.

Family Summer Vacation 2021. Stayed 7 days, last week in July
Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cottage had a nice floor plan. Tastefulll up-north decor. Loved the front porch. Downfalls would be, we have three toddlers and the carpeting and throw rugs were filthy. Should be replaced. Even front door glass was full of finger prints. We were told there were storms the week before and they lost electricity. Still should have been cleaned. We also had an issue with the garbage. Website said to take garbage out to receptacle which was at the end of the driveway. We had a neighbor knock on out door, and told us we shouldn't do that because of animals. We made a phone call to Hiller to straighten out issue. Lake was also a disappointment for swimming. We ended up going to other beaches. Despite the downfalls we enjoyed our family time together!

House was in great condition and matched the description online nicely. View to lake has also been improved with the removal of a number of trees between house and lake. Property was well maintained and well suited to our group of 9. Our only "complaint" was that the lake bottom was shallow and very mucky around the dock and not ideal for swimming. We took the kids to the sandbar around the island for better swimming conditions.

The house is located in a very private area which was nice. The kitchen could use more dish towels and dishcloths especially when one is staying a week. The frying pans could use some replacing with non stick ones. Also the recyclable garbage can needs to be much larger. Had to empty it several times into trash bags and use a big marker to write recyclable on it.The lake was nice but not suitable for swimming. Very mucky bottom at the shoreline so our younger ones could not swim. Overall we had a pleasant time.

We loved the huge covered porch! Anytime we weren’t on the water, we were on the porch...rain or shine. The fire pit area is nice too! Even though you can see a house right next door, it still felt secluded and the pier is private. The only suggestions I have are that the grill is a bit small to cook for a large group and the people before us filled the garbage cans so we had nowhere to place ours. The cleaning service should have noticed this and taken care of it. Overall the place was fantastic!

We had an amazing time! With our business being open 365 days a year my husband works every holiday. This was a great 4 night stay with our adult kids to celebrate Christmas on our own time. We couldn’t have been happier with the property.

Wonderful weekend getaway!
We had lots of fun with kids, beautiful fall colors and as a bonus we got snow showers too. The only thing we were not so happy about was the pets hair everywhere(blankets, sheets, couch) We are a group not used to having pets around and we had kids/babies. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay for our families. No complaints.

Didn't like we could check into the rental until after 3 pm on Monday and that we had to leave by 9 am on Sunday, when I had confirmed a 10 am check our time. I paid for 6 days and only were there for 41/2 -5 days. The whole day Monday is shot and Sunday you have too leave early and you pay for both days. Other than that it was awesome. Quiet, calming and close to town. Site seeing was close by and so were some awesome eateries.

Musky Bay stay
Beautiful home, had a great stay, dusty downstairs and downstairs floor was very dirty and pull out bed mattress with large stains downstairs needs to be replaced. Only issue we had was locating the paddles and life vests for the canoe and paddle boat. Hiller was responsive to all of our concerns and addressed our concerns promptly. Great fishing on the lake, 10 pan fish caught in less than 30 minutes right off the dock. All in all it was a very nice place to spend time with our family.

The home was clean and the perfect size for our large group of 11. Its an easy walk down to the water and plenty of space for enjoying the fire or water activities. Only negatives were the lake is shallow and quiet, so maybe not ideal location for families looking to be really active on the water. (better for canoeing, kayaking, slow boat rides) Also, the neighboring house is close. The service by Hiller was great, they answered all our question and were available the entire weekend by phone or email.

I went with an assumption and did not ask, so that was my mistake. Phone service for US Cellular is not existent at the rental, we had to drive towards Eagle River to get a connection. We were able to snowshoe around the lake, as well as ice fish, for outdoor activities. The interior of the lodge was spotless and had everything we needed. Although we couldn't communicate via cellular service with the Hiller Vacation staff, they were available via email and responded very timely. Thank you! We'll be back!
