About this property

Spend the Coming Summer in a Private Home in Round Pond, Maine

Built just after the Civil War, 6 Mollys Cove Road is an iconic Maine village house, once a parsonage, that has been carefully renovated to maintain its historical character while adding a level of modern comforts. The house is in the heart of the village, only a five minutes walk to the town landing, lobster shacks, harbor, public boat launch, shops, and restaurants. And yet we are tucked away on a quiet private lane, surrounded by tall pines that offer a rare sense of isolation so close to the harbor. There is a charming screened front porch just off the kitchen where you can enjoy coffee and the newspaper, or go online with our wifi connection. And at the back of the house, an enormous cedar deck is there for relaxing as you watch the lobster boats come and go. The main floor includes the kitchen, dining room, library, a full bath with laundry, and front parlor. Upstairs there are two full bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed. There is also a half bath off the upstairs hallway and a reading room. A doorway leads out to the second floor deck, for a full view of the harbor and Muscongus Bay. Sunrises from this vantage point are spectacular. Our home is filled with rare books, original artwork, and furniture, all reflecting our varied interests and passions. If this appeals to you, please email for further details, and to tell us more about yourselves.

Lovely house in Round Pond
We had a very enjoyable time staying in Mark & Kim’s lovely house. Within walking distance is a coffee shop/wine bar, gift shop, ice cream spot and 3 places for seafood on the wharf. The upper deck of their house has a beautiful view of Round Pond harbour to enjoy over coffee in the mornings and drinks in the late afternoon! The beds were comfortable and the kitchen is stocked to do your own cooking if you wish. Lots of beautiful scenery and activities just a short drive away. We would recommend staying here to our friends and family and would love to come back again in the future. Thank you Mark & Kim for sharing your house with us!

A Village Beauty
We enjoyed everything about this 1865 home. Just beautifully done. As a couple of quiet seniors, it was the perfect place to cook, read, walk to lobster and ice cream, and go for beautiful walks.

The perfect house for a gathering
The house was beautiful, fresh, clean and comfortable. The ocean breezes that blew in the windows were cool and refreshing. The screened in porch was a perfect place to relax in the evenings, no mosquitos bothering you! The hosts were exceptionally accommodating to us. Thank you for allowing us to experience your wonderful house.

Maine at its Finest
We loved our week in Round Pond. There is so much to explore on the peninsula. The house is wonderful. We enjoyed suppers on the screened porch every night and this beautifully kept historic house delivers a true Maine experience. The neighborhood setting is quiet and an easy walk to ice cream, coffee, gifts, and local market. This was a big appeal for us. There are great walks along quiet roads to take from the house. The nearby lupine field is a great place to watch the sunset.

We enjoy the quiet life here in Maine as well as in the small medieval village in the south of France where we live during the winter. Kim restores antique furniture and creates sculptures from objects found around the world. I spend most of my time writing.

Why they chose this property

Kim is from Maine and our home was passed down to her from her family. Round Pond has a special place in Kim's heart. We were married in the Little Brown Church and her grandmother came here as a very young girl to live with a sea captain and his family.

What makes this property unique

You'll have to visit Round Pond for yourself to understand why we love it here. Summers are great fun and winters can be peaceful and quiet, if that is what appeals to you.
