A very candid review
The owners of this cabin should get out of the passive income business. The cabin was full of condescending notes and instructions (over 30 notes taped all over creation). Not to mention sheets of paper with fine print littered around containing even more instructions. Meantime you’ll love all the locked doors and closed off areas you can’t go in, the misleading switches that all turn on and off the wrong lights, handles missing on all cabinets and drawers in the kitchen, dysfunctional WiFi, and overall the feeling you’re intruding on someone’s personal space rather than enjoying a vacation. I’ve stayed with vacasa many times and most people know how to style and feature a cabin for guests. This place is more like a weird museum of junk that is way too highly valued, you’re not allowed to touch, and have to tolerate as you try and maneuver your way around without disturbing anything. Again, the owners should not be renting for passive income. They don’t embody the spirit of renting a cabin in McCall.

Worst rental experience
I am not one to write a bad review but this was such a mess that I had to share. We rented the cabin for a quick little family weekend get away. The area is beautiful. Not far from town. Cabin is very spacious. We brought our boat and atv with us and within hours of us checking in The neighbor down the road an older gentleman -followed us and stopped us while on the ATV and told us that we could not ride on the public road. And that he will call the sheriff. We were not speeding or being reckless simply taking the kids on a joy ride. He was very rude and confrontational. When we first arrived We decided to park our boat down at the end of the driveway since the road was very narrow And would be hard to back out. So We left a note with our info in case there was an issue with it. Not to long after We got a message to move it and we parked it in our driveway immediately. An hour later at 10pm we got a knock at the door from the sheriff Telling us we had to move our boat… which we had already done!!! He was polite and told us we were fine to have the boat where we had moved it to. We also asked about the atv and riding it on road which he also said was fine. Next morning we get a visit from the maintenance lady and asked us what was going on we explained what had happened she was very understanding but she had to relay the message that we are not allowed to have any atvs or boats on the property (Which that was not written anywhere on the site!!! ) according to The owners we were to remove them from the property and if the sheriff was called again they would fine us for trespassing and remove us from the property! It was all so very frustrating and put a damper on the entire weekend! The cabin itself was nice.. there were however soo many notes staying don’t do This and don’t do that. The outdoor light to the patio did not work! The wooden latter for the bunk bed has a loose step and falls off my daughter fell and bruised her leg and arm! I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you wanna be harassed by rude neighbors and feel uncomfortable about touching anything! I definitely understand wanting your home to be cared for when you’re not there but if you’re that worried about every little item and detail then maybe you should not have it up as a rental!

Uncomfortable and broken
Everything was old and broke , the beds were uncomfortable and it was 80 degrees at night which lead to poor sleep. The windows had labels saying not to open and there was junk all over the property. I’d neee recommend this place to anyone.
