Good for big groups and water fun
I’ll start by saying that the owners were easy and nice to communicate with. The house is a good size for big groups and the location on the water with the double decker dock and all the water toys we brought made for TONS of fun in the water! Hot tub, ice maker, grills, and appliances worked great! It is a LOT of stairs to get up and down to the water, but that seems typical for Norris Lake. Our biggest issue was that due to a recent storm, one of the steps in the stairs leading down to the dock was completely missing and was taking several days for someone to fix. Although there are lots of rooms, most of the bedrooms don’t have closets, and the one closet in the master was full. The beds are very loud/creaky and one of the beds in the basement has a broken frame. We did well cooking for a crowd, but there is not much space to sit and eat. We brought a folding table which really came in handy as extra counter space. It may just be that the house gets lots of big groups and we came in toward the end of the season, but there is definitely some wear and tear to the house and furniture. It could use a deep clean as well to get rid of the dust bunnies that have accumulated under much of the furniture/on baseboards, and cob webs in the corners. Since there are no closets, the pack and play provided was stored on top of the basement refrigerator and covered in dust. Lastly, the lowest level bathroom has no fan and stayed humid. But over all, we had a great time!

Updates needed - Listing Outdated
House was clean, plenty of room, bare min bath towels, no kitchen towels. AC worked well on main level down, top 2 floors were very hot. New dock & fire pit were amazing, remaining amenities outdated. Wi-Fi password supplied was incorrect, we had to drive to find a signal twice until we got correct data. Only small appliances were a coffee pot, keurig, toaster and a crockpot the was cracked so not usable, a couple small pots and pans & a larger pot, hardly stocked to cook for 22. The Blue Moon website stated a blackstone & new grill, VRBO listing said 2 new grills. One of the grills was far from new and there was no blackstone. The ice maker never produced ice and hot tub was murky & in need of draining with no chlorine in the floater. The cover was broken & soaked with water, we couldn’t open it fully. Was told a new cover was on order but coming after we left. Mid-week someone came, removed the cover and cleaned the hot tub but since the cover couldn’t be put back on the water temperature never went over 92 degrees so we were unable to use another advertised amenity. There are some new boards on the deck but many more with dry rot, wiggly posts, railing being separated from the base, holes in floor behind hot tub & a step on outside stairs is supported by a rock & a stump. The neighborhood is gated but was never, and our trailer was tampered with when parked in the neighborhood lot. We did bring up many of our concerns when we arrived. Recommend owners go down to review.

It was perfect for us.
The house was perfect for our large, 4 family, group of 15. All updates from the previous review were done. The homeowner was very responsive to all my questions before arriving and during our stay. We were looking for a place to stay that wasn’t too far from the riding trails and allowed us a getaway with a change of scenery. The house met all our needs.

Filthy! Property is not as described.
This property is nothing like the listing. It was absolutely filthy and looked like no one had cleaned it in a long time. There was mold in the showers, on the ceilings, on the walls, and in the dehumidifier machines. The hot tub had dirty green water in it and the filter looked like it was never cleaned. There were two grills and both were completely rusted and unusable. There was a hole in the deck, broken plexiglass on the walls of the stairs, broken bunk bed boards, broken outdoor chairs, loose indoor chairs, non-functioning out door light, and holes in the couch. Ceiling fans, tables, etc. were covered in thick layers of dust. The ping pong table was broken, the microwave was coming apart, and there was no ice or water working on the fridge. The pillows were stained yellow and you could feel the springs in the mattress. The kitchen trash can still had trash from the previous guests and the outdoor trash cans were half full. The home is also infested with lady bugs. We had to clean, purchase bed sheets, pillows, and a grill just to make our stay decent. The wifi and constant hot water were great features. I took photos of all of the above and sent a message through Vrbo to the property owner. They have yet to contact me and it’s been 5 days. This home is listed as “newly renovated” and has a list of amenities that sell you into booking it but there is nothing new about it and the amenities were unusable. The photos in the listing and the previous reviews are nothing like what you will encounter when you arrive at this property so be aware before you book.
