Heaven on Earth
We loved this little cabin. The best part was sitting on the porch looking out over the beautiful valley and watching the humming birds fighting over the sugar water. Would love to visit again and bring my kids and grandkids.

Breathtaking
We stayed in the Moose cabin for 4 nights and didn't want to leave. During the day, the view from the porch is heavenly: gorgeous, quiet, and spectacular. That same view at night is magnificently star-filled. The cabin is very well equipped, expertly decorated, very clean and extremely comfortable. There's a building out back for big meals and groups. Really wonderful. Very close hiking trails, trail rides and even a show at the Arts Center. We absolutely loved this trip. I can't wait to return next summer.

Breathtaking!!
Wow!! This place is absolutely gorgeous! The views are stunning. The property is well taken care of and the cabins are adorable. The main kitchen room and large fireplace were great for cooking larger meals and enjoying relaxing while soaking in the valley. We had the place to ourselves and it was magical. I will be going back.

Can I Give a 6-Star Rating?
Not just a "Slice of Heaven", Dancing Winds is truly Heaven on magnificant plot of Earth, just 30 minutes north of Pagosa Springs. Everything, I mean literally everything about our experience at Dancing Winds, from booking, to departure, was perfect. The property is simply magic. The pictures just cannot capture the immense beauty of the viewshed of the San Juan Mountains. The cabin (in our case, Saddle), was amazing. Saddle is rustic, yet modern. You can cook meals, you can relax on its front porch, you can sleep deeply in a comfy bed, you'll love the custom made, cowboy-themed decorations. My wife and I kept saying to each other..."we could live here." A few words about our camp hosts, Mark and Misty: They're amazing and wonderful people! You have a question, they have an answer. You have a need, they will fulfill it. We love those two. Mark and Misty aren't just good hosts, they're really good people. We made friends for life and next time we're at Dancing Winds, we're coooking them dinner! Location = perfect. Far enough away from Pagosa Springs to make you feel "off the grid", yet clsoe enough to go to town and enjoy all that Pagosa has to offer, like great restaurants, bars and of course the hot springs! There is a cool general store at a nearby campground that is just 10 minutes away if you really need something, but don't want to drive 30 minutes into Pagosa Springs. Again, perfect. Dancing Winds is literally on the front porch of the best hiking, mountain biking and horse trials the San Juan Mountains have to offer. Again, perfect. The hot tub is an awesome addition for soaking legs sore from hiking, the full kitchen and extra fridge/freezer space in the Dinner House is on-point. We cooked and ate dinner both in the Dinner House and in our cabin. Perfection once again. We WILL come back to Dancing Winds, perhaps many times. Sometimes, when you discover something special, you just say THAT is enough, we don't need to look further. If we could give Dancing Winds a 6-Star Rating, we would. So we'll settle for 5-Stars and this final thought: Dancing Winds is an extraordinary place. If you're on the fence about booking a stay, jump the heck off that fence of indecision, and book your stay. We promise you, you will not regret that decision!

Family Spring Break
Our family had an exceptional experience at Dancing Winds. We were close enough to Pogosa Springs to enjoy the offerings of town while experiencing the beauty of the backcountry. We were fortunate enough to see a large herd of elk and the Piedra River is only a few hundred yards from the cabin. Great experience and great hosts.

Just what we needed
We stayed in the Moose Cabin during a beautiful sunny, muddy, Easter weekend (first time visiting Pagosa Springs area). Some of the hiking further down the road was not accessible (road closed) but we loved the Piedra trails, and exploring one of the lakes down a bit. So quiet and so comfortable. Spotty wifi, but that was just what we needed. Owners were awesome at responding right away when I called with questions. Would love to visit again.

Spring break retreat
We couldn't ask for a better property to escape to for spring break. The cabins were just far enough away from the city but close enough to get our ski slope fill in either direction. Our teenage son loved the loft area in the moose cabin and our pups loved running around in the snow away from the Texas heat. Thank you so much for sharing your property and helping my family make lasting memories! We will definitely return.

Labor Day Mini Vacay
My husband and I made the last minute decision to travel to Colorado for the weekend. We were looking for cooler weather and less crowds. So I did some research and came across this property. I was pretty limited in my options because we wanted to bring our pup, and of course, it was a holiday weekend. So I was surprised such a beautiful place still had availability. Our stay at Dancing Winds was absolutely PERFECT and just what we needed. We didn't get to make much use of the pavilion, since we spent most of our day exploring, but If we ever stayed for a longer period of time, or came with more family/friends, that area would be a WONDERFUL perk. The Moose cabin was clean and adorable, and our 7 yr old son loved the loft area. The property was very well maintained. The cabin was well insulated so it was cool during the day, and warm at night. Also, James, the camp host, was extremely nice and helpful. He knew the area well and made sure we were familiar with all the fun things to do and see. Even though there are three cabins on the property, each area felt private and secluded. The property is close to rivers, lakes, hiking, you name it. But the roads out to the property are well maintained and make trips into town easy as well. But that view sealed the deal for us. You just can't beat waking up to it. We will be back for sure, and hopefully with more family and friends in tow! -The Griffins

Great place, epic views.
Awesome place to spend spring break. Family really enjoyed the nice little cabin. Road crews were great had no trouble getting in and out of the cabin with the 20"+ of snow in two days. Place was plenty warm with the fireplace. Only downside to all the snow was the group pavilion was closed so we didn't get to use it or the grill. Tip. If you stay at moose cabin. Lift up on the door handle when hitting the unlock button of you will become very frustrated trying to get in late at night in the cold.
