About this property

STUNNING HOME! RARE views, beauty & privacy. LOCATION PERFECT! Borders RMNP!

Enjoy pure rocky mountain splendor in this beautiful home known as "Estes Peak Retreat." This incredible custom home sits on 31 private acres, bordering RMNP – just over two miles to the entrance of RMNP by car and a 6 minute drive to downtown Estes Park. It is the perfect location! (registration # 6172, Larimer county Approval Number: 20-NCD0254)

From the outdoor porch, relax by the table, fireplace or even in the hot tub and enjoy the spectacular views as well as the wildlife. This luxurious custom home includes three king bedrooms, three common areas, a 1000 sq. foot Brazilian redwood porch, and both an indoor and outdoor fireplace. House features alder wood custom trim and kitchen cabinets. (Alder wood is the same type of wood that the pilings of the city of Venice are made from as well as many Fender guitars.)

House features:

Estes Peak Retreat has a deluxe kitchen that is a cook’s dream. It has spacious granite counters, including a luxurious island with barstools. It is fully equipped with everything from excellent cookware and spices to a gas stove, stainless steel refrigerator, electric oven, and microwave. The dining room has an extended dining room table perfect for family reunions or a gathering with friends.

Estes Peak Retreat has three king bedrooms (3 king-sized beds, + a trundle bed in the open area of the lower level and a twin bed in one of the king bedrooms) and 3 ½ baths. The home is lined with extensive windows that provide mountain views all throughout. Two of the bedrooms offer these magnificent views. Washer and dryer also available for use.

Enjoy the three sitting areas, facilitating a game room for kids, and two other rooms for entertainment. Enjoy Dish TV in the upper and lower living areas as well as in the master Bedroom, WIFI, and an outdoor grill. After snowshoeing, hiking, or skiing, enjoy a warm and cozy time by the indoor or outdoor fireplace or relax in the hot tub. (Snowshoes are provided for winter hikers).

Half-mile mountain driveway prevents curious onlookers from coming up onto the property and allows guests to have the privacy they deserve. (Note: there are three sharp turns in driveway. We go up easily in the summer in a Prius, but wouldn't want to be driving a large RV! Four-wheel, all-wheel drive or snow tires are needed if it snows.) Electric vehicle outlet available in garage if needed.

Preference is given to full week Saturday-to-Saturday for bookings between June and early September. As these months draw closer, we are open to shorter stays if there are any openings left. Minimum stay varies for other months from 2-4 nights. Please contact us if you see an opening on the calendar which you are not able to book. We would love to try to accommodate you and let you experience the beauty of Estes Peak Retreat.

Just as a side note, we strongly suggest getting rental insurance for any vacation in Colorado. Vacationing here is absolutely wonderful and our guests have marveled at the beauty right from our home. But life certainly is unpredictable with snow storms, fires, pandemics, sickness in families, etc. We would love for you to be able to book with confidence.

For the safety and security of our property and guests, basement door is outfitted with a NEST door lock and door bell.

Amazing Location
The house was wonderful with fantastic views from the large floor to ceiling windows, a hot tub and plenty of space. The hosts have been very good at communicating with us and the house was very clean and fully stocked. I would recommend this place for your next vacation.

Rustic Luxury in the Mountains
This home was absolutely amazing. Custom built with a designer's touch make for 'rustic luxury'. The kitchen was fully appointed leaving nothing to be desired, the sheets were soft, extra blankets and pillows from which to choose, a closet full of puzzles, games, and more. Stunning views in all directions and plenty of relaxing places from which to enjoy them. Heidi and Harvey provided detailed instructions leaving nothing to guesswork. They also left a thoughtful gift and fresh flowers as we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. Or maybe they do that for everyone! It wouldn't surprise me, as they've clearly thought of everything. Don't hesitate if you're thinking about staying here. If we get the chance, we will definitely visit again.

Hidden Gem!!
Wow! This place has all the cozy comforts of home wrapped in a luxurious package. Thoughtful touches greeted us at every turn… Keyless check-in was simple, pillows and throws were scattered throughout; a wood-burning fireplace was ready with supplies; the kitchen was well-stocked; an upstairs closet was filled with games, books, and toys; the beds and bedding were super comfortable; there was a large hot tub on the deck; tv’s were in multiple locations; even some outdoor gear was provided! This property is beautiful with breathtaking views located just minutes from downtown Estes Park with a variety of shops and fun restaurants. Our stay was exceptional! Don’t miss this hidden gem!!

Magnificent mountain views and stunning sunsets!
A tranquil haven in the heart of the Rockies nestled amidst the majestic peaks of Estes Park, this luxurious mountain retreat offers a sanctuary of serenity. From the moment you arrive, you're enveloped in the natural beauty of towering pines and breathtaking vistas stretching as far as the eye can see. The exquisite attention to detail and tasetful design is evident from the moment you step inside the cabin. The space seamlessly blends rustic charm with modern sophistication, creating a retreat that is both inviting and refined. Sizable windows frame panoramic mountain views and each room is thoughtfully appointed with every comfort in mind. From sumptuous bedding to luxurious bath amenities, no detail has been overlooked. Whether you're curling up by the fireplace with a good book, soaking in the private hot tub under a canopy of stars, or savoring a gourmet meal prepared in the state-of-the-art kitchen, every moment is one of pure indulgence. But it's not just the interior that dazzles—the outdoor spaces are equally impressive. Expansive decks offer the perfect spot for al fresco dining or simply taking in the awe-inspiring scenery. And with miles of hiking trails right outside your door, adventure awaits at every turn. What truly sets this retreat apart, however, is the impeccable service. From the moment you inquire about your stay to the day you arrive, the host maintains a steady, open stream of communication for any questions that might arise. Can’t wait to go back!

Memorable Family Trip
I would high recommend this property for your vacation. The property is super close to Rocky MT national park. Great view and convenient to the grocery store. Very clean house and family friend. The most important is the owners are super nice. They gave us a lot helps and suggestions for snow hiking. If we have another trip there, we will definitely live there again.

About the host

We love traveling as well as the outdoors. After living for several years overseas, we moved to Denver. Our wedding photographer son (instagram: nateshepardphoto) initially drew us into Estes with his remarkable photos of RMNP. We started hiking there and were in love with both the park and the town.

Why they chose this property

From all of our travels, one of our favorite places in the world is RMNP. Having decided to retire in Estes Park one day, we started hunting for the "perfect" property, and found it with Estes Peak Retreat. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

What makes this property unique

We loved this property as it's so close to the entrance of the park and we can avoid the downtown traffic. We also just cherish the solitude and spectacular views that this setting provides. Finally, the home is a work of art. We're always impressed by the thought and tremendous care which went into the design and building of this home. We have hand-picked items from our travels around the world to add to this beautiful space.
