About this property

Cozy Cabin In Nimpo Lake on Dean River

In 2018 we finished renovating our "cozy cabin" next to our property. lf you are looking for a quiet and absolutely private setting don't look further. This cabin is beautifully situated on famous Dean River about 2 km away from the mouth of Nimpo Lake. The river is very wide in this area and rich in water fowl. When sitting on the porch you feel like being alone midst in the wilderness. This is the home of the loons, pelicans and sometimes trumpeter swans. From the porch or while sitting at the dining table you can watch bold eagles and ospreys catching fish.

There are nice trails for walking and hiking just around the corner. Nimpo Lake is famous for rainbow trouts - there is a public boat launch and boat rental available 3 km away from the cabin. Of course you can fish from your own private dock close to the cabin.

We also can arrange trail riding for you if you wish to explore the area on horseback. There are lots of “wild horses” in our area which are quite interesting to watch. Every now and then we even see black bears and grizzlies foraging on meadows.

The Nimpo Lake General Store is just 3 km away from the cabin where you can get everything you need. There is also a bakery and a cafe in Nimpo Lake.

The cabin:
1 bedroom with a queen-size bed
1 bedroom with 2 bunk beds sleeps 4
living/dining/kitchen area with wood stove
bathroom with shower
fully equipped kitchen (stocked with the basics)
porch with BBQ
canoe available
nice view on the river

Lovely cabin in a wonderfuilly secluded place
We were greetted by our wonderful host Sabine outside the cabin and then shown around the place. A freshly baked Swiss braided loaf, made by Sabine's own fair hands welcomed us into the Kitchen. that was just the best bread and brough back memories of our posting in Germany those many decades ago. Cosy Cabin is a beautifully kept cabin, clean and tidy with everything you could want for a quite stay in the wilderness. We travelled for 10 hours from Vancouver to get to the Cosy Cabin and we'd do it again in a heartbeat, so much so that we're disccussing another visit for Christmas. Sabine is a wonderful caring host and I wish her all the very best in life, good people deserve at least that.

Peace and tranquility
Cozy Cabin, Sabine and the serenity were everything we were hoping to find for our 8 night stay. Sabine is a wonderful host who welcomed us with warmth and freshly baked bread to our very clean cabin that is stocked with everything we needed. She is very responsive, helpful and considerate and provides extra touches to make the stay enjoyable. At the same time she allowed us absolute privacy. We would love to visit again. Thanks Sabine

Cozy Cabin Weekend
My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Nimpo Lake Cozy Cabin. The cabin was easy to find from the highway, but was very quiet and felt private. Sabine was a lovely host, and was very welcoming and easy to communicate with before and during our stay. She made sure the cabin was equipped with everything we needed for the weekend, including delicious fresh baked bread. The lake was very calm and we used the canoe every day. Enjoying the all around beautiful views from the lake was so peaceful. It was a perfect place to relax and disconnect. We would love to visit again and would recommend the Cozy Cabin to anyone heading to the Nimpo Lake area.

Fantastic host. Went above and beyond.
This cozy cabin was everything we expected and more because the host was so wonderful. She was so sweet and made us some amazing bread and cake! Both I've never had before. Really made the whole experience that much more unique and special. We drove a long way to stay in this cabin and she made it well worth it! Highly recommend this place

Relaxation Nimpo Style
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The cabin is warm and cosy and well outfitted. It is in a lovely location on the Dean River that looks more like a lake at that point. We went there to take a break and relax and it was the ideal place to be. Our gracious hostess Sabine was wonderful and made sure that everything was as it should be and spoiled us to boot!! We were there early, before the Tourist season started, just us and the birds singing in the trees. We would definitely go again!

Cozy cabin winter stay.
What a lovely truly cozy cabin. My wife and I stayed for 5 days in middle of winter when temperatures dipped to -34C and were very comfortable with wood stove. Beautiful quiet location in woods on wide area of Dean river. Lovely view from living room. We went snow shoeing on river. Cabin has queen size bed in one room and double bunks in second room. Bathroom has shower. Kitchen has all basic amenities with gas stove and microwave and fridge and plates and cooking utensils. Has fenced in yard for children or dogs. Internet works well. Host, Sabine, was really lovely and helpful! She had baked cake for us when we arrived … what a nice treat! Really enjoyed our stayed and would highly recommend this cabin.

Wilderness riverside retreat
Beautiful property and this rustic cozy cabin is equipped with everything you need for those who are looking for the glamping experience, with the exception of your food and personal items. Not recommended for those who like everything brand new, perfect, or wishing to spend their time watching TV. Power, indoor plumbing, full kitchen set up with microwave, wifi available while at the cabin but no cell service along hwy 20, so no GPS. If you look up your directions before hand it's really easy to find, right of the hwy. Our host, Sabine was a delight and made some delicious baked goods for us. Small water pressure issue when we arrived but it was looked after immediately. We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 days there, kayaking, hiking, riding, and just enjoying the wood fire in the cabin itself. Fenced yard for your pet, an outdoor fire area, and view of the river from the large open windows in the living room. This 2 bdrm cabin is in the woods, private, with easy access to the river, hiking trails, and fishing. Horseback riding, with Rikki, only a 20 min drive away. Highly recommend this little Cozy Cabin and horseback riding with Rikki. Wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely be back.

Three weeks of heaven!
I didn’t want to leave and will hopefully return! Beautiful well-serviced cabin, beautifully situated with lazy river only 100m away with gorgeous view from deck. Fenced yard for my dogs which were welcome. Short walk to river and canoe. Peaceful solitude. I never wanted to leave the deck on sunny days. On rainy days the wood stove was cozy and walls of windows offered the river view from the couch. Amazing generous and thoughtful hosts (and cinnamon rolls to die for!). Lots of adventures in the surrounding area including some great trail riding! Many thanks to Sabine and Clemens for such a relaxing get-away!

Amazing
Staying at Sabine and Clemens' cabin was truly amazing. The place was exactly as shown in the listing but it's the small touches, like the fact that Sabine baked us bread, that made it perfect. When our car got stuck in the ice they both came out and helped us make sure we would be ok. Sabine also checked in with us afterward to make sure everything was ok. I would definitely recommend their cabin. We hope to be able to visit again!

Cozy Cabin Nimpo Lake
The whole family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin is cozy indeed, clean, and all we needed was there. Communication with Sabine was excellent, and even though due to circumstances we were prevented from meeting in person, she made sure we were well looked after, and got all our questions answered. We enjoyed being out in God's creation: walking, hiking, canoeing, fishing, horse riding and bird watching. On top of that the weather was lovely!

Quiet Get Away!
Our family had an amazing stay at the Cozy Cabin. The communities of Nimpo Lake and Anahim are both friendly and welcoming. The trail rides with Paul were amazing and his family wonderfully friendly. The cabin was bigger than needed for our family of four. Reminded me of my childhood cabin and was clean and had every thing we needed to live comfortably. Thank you Sabine and we hope to come stay again!

Wonderful week
We had such an enjoyable stay. Sabine is lovely and the Cozy Cabin is just that... cozy. Very clean, well stocked. Sabine left us homemade bread and jam. We loved canoeing and horseback riding in Anahim Lake. Also explored the area as far as Bella Coola. None of us wanted to leave and will definitely come back.

That is why this place is called “Cozy Cabin”
Cozy Cabin equals warm welcome, relaxation, comfort, fresh baked welcome pie, very clean, fresh bed linen and towels. Fishing and boating and hiking . We will definitely recommend this our friends and family and we will stay longer next time around. The hosts, Sabine and Clemens are a living example of kindness and hospitality..

Highlight of our Road Trip
Whether you are looking for privacy and tranquility or a base from where to explore the Chilcotin wilderness you have found it. The cabin is spotless and, while charming and rustic, holds everything you might need or want. The wood stove is toasty when the evening is crisp. The setting is pristine. Your hosts Sabine and Clemens are genuinely welcoming, kind and generous...ready to help or leave you to enjoy your alone time as you need. Truly a highlight of our Mountain road trip!

Lovely long stay
My family and I--partner, 3.5yr old toddler and 10yr old dog--stayed for nearly a month and had a wonderful time. Sabine is a great communicator with the right balance of checking in to make sure we had everything we needed and giving us privacy. The cabin was cozy and fully equipped with everything we needed for a long term stay. We took the canoe out just about every day, grilled on the back deck in the sunshine, roasted marshmallows in the backyard campfire, pitched our tent in the just for fun, and the fenced in yard was great for our dog. Directions made it easy to find, wood stove was toasty, horses were beautiful, quiet and peaceful property. Definitely recommend.

Family Vacation
The cozy cabin was perfect and Sabine is a wonderful hostess. The cabin is in a great location in close proximity to countless fishing opportunities. We were able to rent a boat on the lake multiple days. The fishing was also fantastic - good enough to happily entertain two teenagers all day for a week (no cell phone access when not in the cabin). Our family had some of the best time together since before the pandemic started and it was priceless. Sabine was communicative and helpful before and during our stay. She made sure everything was ready for our arrival, including starting a fire in the wood stove (it was rainy and cool when we arrived) and baking us fresh bread. It is hard to describe how nice it was to enter the warm, cozy cabin to the smell of fresh bread after a long day of driving. The cabin was clean and spacious enough for our family of four. We enjoyed dinners together looking out over the Dean river and the internet in the cabin kept everyone connected (as needed with teens), but the lack of cell service meant we could leave the devices behind when we went out hiking, fishing, or on our float plane ride to Tweedsmuir Provincial Park. If you are looking for a beautiful and peaceful place to go, the cozy cabin is an unbeatable choice. The people in Nimpo Lake were welcoming and Sabine is delightful. You will not be disappointed with this place.

Amazing cozy cabin
Sabine and clemens really are the perfect hosts. The check process was smooth, and on entering the unit we found an amazing Austrian chocolate cake for my husband's birthday. They showed us around their property and answered all questions and more to our inquisitive questions. I'm taking back some wonderful memories from the cabin and looking forward to returning soon!!

A lovely getaway
Our family stayed here as a rustic getaway close to great hiking, canoeing, and fishing. The hosts, S &C, were welcoming and very helpful with local knowledge. The accommodation isn't fancy, but it's everything you could hope for, being clean, comfortable, and well appointed for a (moderately) rustic stay. The abundant hot water, good lighting, and good propane stove and oven mean it's definitely not roughing it. There is a weak Wi-Fi signal you can get at the window, great for syncing up, but this should be considered off-line living in most of the cabin. That's a good thing. Also, there is no cell coverage for many miles (hundreds). The general store a couple of km away is well stocked with essentials as well. With the warm hospitality, numerous outdoor activities, and cozy indoors, the whole family were very sad to leave after a week. We would definitely stay again if we were anywhere near the area.

Tolle Umgebung!
