This is a gorgeous house. The vaulted ceilings and expansive windows in the main living and eating area create a beautiful, welcoming space. Eating meals at the main table while you look out at panoramic mountain scenery is a joy. There are three large living/seating areas: the main floor, the top floor overlooking the main floor, and the lower level with TV and pool table, which can be closed off from the main floor for privacy and quiet. The 2 bedrooms on the top floor, master on the main floor, and 2 on the lower level are nicely separated so if you have different groups/families staying at the house you can have considerable privacy and not bother each other. In our case, we had a couple staying downstairs that needed to work for part of the time they were there, while kids played upstairs, and they had no problem doing so. The kitchen is well-stocked with dishes and utensils and the appliances are in good condition.
Outside, the large porch (plus a smaller one off the master bedroom) and very large patio with numerous chairs and a fire pit are great for lounging around, if you’re staying during a season that accommodates that. The landscaping is immaculate, with lovely flowers surrounding the patio. Our kids enjoyed playing in the large yard. While this property is part of a development, the houses are separated by distance and thick trees, and you’ll feel very private and secluded while staying here.
The owner, Linda, is very responsive to any issues that arise. We had some minor things come up with a circuit breaker that wouldn’t reset and a smoke alarm that went off unexpectedly, and she had the property management company stop by very quickly to fix it.
Is it perfect? No. Some of the beds, particularly the one in the large bedroom downstairs and those in the kid’s room upstairs, are overly stiff, and the living room sofa sheds feathers at a prodigious rate. The wifi signal can’t consistently reach the top floor bedrooms. In really hot weather (we stayed there during the summer), the top floor bedrooms get a bit stuffy, though there are fans available (no A/C). On the whole, these are minor issues and we’d wholeheartedly recommend this property for those looking for a large, comfortable, and beautiful place to stay in the Sunapee area.
