About this property

1/2 mile to the beach, private pool, dog friendly, and a park!

Our second home is nestled into a quiet cul de sac off the beaten path yet with an easy two and one half block walk to the beach. We're also a short walk to the pier and all the shops downtown. Since this is our second home, we've done our best to include all the "stuff" needed for daily living - pots and pans. iron, slow cooker, beach toys, skateboards, board games, towels, outdoor grills (both gas and charcoal)....

We also have a whole house water filter - no need to buy bottled water! And the water gets heated by an on demand gas water heater.
The home has three bedrooms. The master has a kingsized bed and bath. The second bedroom has a queen sized bed and the third bedroom has a bunkbed with a full sized bed, a trundle with a twin size mattress, and the top bunk is also a twin size. There is even a rollaway bed in the closet for more guests! The second bathroom is in the hallway between the second and third bedrooms.

Great Vacation!
This was our families first time on SSI and we couldn’t be happier with the location of this house! We enjoyed our time on the island and loved how easy it was to get to everything! The house easily accommodated our family vacation and we all enjoyed spending time in the sunroom and on the patio at the pool when we didn’t feel like going to the beach!

Great Spot
Great location next to the park. Management was extremely responsive and the house offered pool and beach towels and plenty of pool toys for the kids. Very kid friendly.

Another great stay…
We had another great stay at the Toluca Whale House! This was our 2nd year staying here and we plan on happily booking a 3rd, if they’ll have us. The place is a great size with a wonderfully warm and relaxing pool. The location is great. I’d highly recommend this place to everyone.

Great property highly recommend!
The house was perfect for our family vacation. The pool was a nice added bonus. The property owner was very quick to respond to any messages and very accommodating to our special needs son and service dog. I highly recommend this property. We will definitely be back!

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with the island but didn't want to be surrounded by all the hustle and bustle of beach life. The home is the perfect fit. It's an easy walk to the beach yet it's in on a street that only sees traffic from the neighbors coming home. The fenced in yard gives our dogs a place to run without us worrying that they might wander off to chase seagulls. We walk or ride bikes everywhere - the best places to eat on the island are an easy stroll away and the grocery store is less than a two-mile drive (or bike ride you want). Most of the neighbors are year-round residents who are happy to suggest a place to eat or explore.

What makes this property unique

Our home has all the "stuff" you need to do your daily tasks - cook, not that you'll want to... The pool (with a table IN the water) is calling you to take a dip; the short walk to the beach is asking if you want to hunt for seashells or to go fishing; the skatepark across the street wants to know if you can still shred; the quiet, peaceful walk to town is also inviting you to not bother cooking - grab some fresh seafood from one of the great restaurants maybe some ice cream...
