With every detail crafted by the area’s top home builders, with sustainable practices in mind such as cork floors, this light wood-paneled home creates a bright and airy feeling. Large windows allow in natural light while the foliage and fencing surrounding the home providing solitude and privacy.

Just two blocks from Grand Marais Harbor, you are easy walking distance to downtown Grand Marais art galleries, shopping, and sites, while being centrally located to many wilderness outdoor activities available on the North Shore. Only a few miles away are state parks, beaches, the Gunflint Trail, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, biking, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling trails, and so much more. You will find adventure year-round in Grand Marais.

If you are traveling with a large group or arriving for a family gathering, the properties Downtown Treehouse, Grand Marais House of Light, Grand Marais Retreat, and Hillside Harbor are all located near one another. Each family or small group can have their own space while still being near one another. Construction is going on in the detached garage, which is currently being converted to a master bedroom suite. The completion date is TBD. When booked, our construction team will not be working on the property. When the suite is completed, this addition will make this home a 3-bed, 2-bath.

Solo getaway
I decided to take a few days to myself and found this little gem last minute. I've used a lot of VRBO's, but this one really exceeded my expectations. The cleanest place I've ever seen by far. I don't know how new it is, but it actually smells new. Well decorated. The space is super cozy, tons of windows. Close to downtown, so I walked everywhere. And really quiet at night. It would be nice if there was a grill....I didn't see one. Grand Marais is so small that some restaurants are randomly closed certain nights, so I likely would have grilled out if there was a grill. But otherwise, they have everything you need. I appreciate they have most of the essentials already. But do pick up some coffee! When it came time to leave, I was actually sad. I could have stayed another week easy. I will 100% be back.

The property was perfect! Loved everything about it! Nicely appointed, great location and very comfortable. Only thing I wish was different would have been higher quality sheets :-).

Fabulous setting
Everything about this beautiful house is spot on. Great location too! We were really delighted by the detain and privacy of this home. Very thoughtfully done! Being central in grand marais was a lot of fun. No car needed unless we we were out hiking.
