Enjoy a unique Waterfront Cedar House on the Potomac River with spectacular sunset views from the deck or porch looking across the River to the Appalachian Mountains’ foothills of the undeveloped C&O Canal National Historic Park. A truly relaxing “getaway”.

Located only 60 miles from D.C. through either Leesburg or Frederick, and 3 miles from the center of historic Harpers’ Ferry. Once there, you have the option to stay and enjoy one of America’s great rivers or explore the beauty and history of the Eastern Appalachian Mountains and Shenandoah Valley. Just outside of your door is direct Potomac River access where you can fish, canoe, kayak, just float on the River, or enjoy a book or glass of wine on the deck. You are only minutes from ziplining, river riders float put in and whitewater rafting, biking on the towpath or the winding West Virginia farm roads, or hiking on the Appalachian Trail. Feeling like a little more exploring, you are centrally located within 20-25 minutes of Frederick, Berkley Springs, and historic Shepherdstown, which means you equally close to the famous Antietam battlefield (and an easy drive from there to Gettysburg), the Virginia Wine Trail, the local college atmosphere around Shephard University, and one of the last weekly horse racing tracks at the Charlestown Races and Casino.

Nice river view but close to neighbors
House was not very clean. Houses very close on both sides and that was an issue at times. House was worn and smelt like they had a dog. River view was nice. Swimming and Kayaking was great. Lots of loud boats and jet skis in river. Not posh but good location.

Beautiful and Relaxing Setting
We are from Seattle and the house was a great location close to lots of places to see and do. The view and location of the on the Potomac River was perfect having our morning coffee on deck or in screened in porch was a great way to start the day! The golf cart was fun addition to check out along river or neighborhood. Connie and Steve are great host and so nice to meet look forward to keeping in touch. We stayed at the house for about 2 months out in area for work would definitely come back and stay again I bet fall is Beautiful that time of year also. Thank you for great stay Carol & Matt

We are a Washington DC area family that has raised or children and love travel and outdoor activities.

Why they chose this property

This is a unique area because it is only an hour from DC and Northern Virginia to this incredible wilderness like river setting close to the Appalachian trail and the Virginia Wine Trail. Not too far to go out for cocktails or dinner in Shepherdstown or Harpers Ferry or just stay put for beautiful views.
