Great weekend away
This cabin was just what ge doctor ordered! We really enjoyed our weekend. The cabin had everything that we needed, minus what it tells you to bring, but we had already prepared for that. Everything was clean, the kitchen had lots of cookware and the hot tub was nice and hot! Thank you very much for sharing your cabin with us!

We had an awesome vacation here!
Cabin was everything it needed to be and more! Awesome wrap around porch, huge living area, huge kitchen table, huge main floor rooms, lots of land to explore, very quiet, and tons of space to just relax and enjoy the company you brought with you. I was not expecting it to be a 5 star hotel and i was right... it wasn't. It was a cabin in the middle of the woods. Could it have been cleaner? Yes! Did it ruin my weekend because it didn't pass the white glove test? No way. I swept the floor one good time and moved the couches swept under them and it was all I needed to be comfortable. The cabin had a lot of extra towels and bed sheets for your stay. Kitchen had anything you would need to cook for a large size group. TVs have been updated since the pictures were taken and cabin has a large flat screen in main living room. I would definitely come back and stay here again! Wendy and her crew was fairly quick to answer any questions and I even lost access to my email during the rental process and they sent me everything that I needed without any question.

Would not rent this property again
The office staff was terrific and I really appreciated their responsiveness. I was however very disappointed with the cleanliness and condition of the property. The bathrooms were very clean but the other rooms were not. We couldn't turn the ceiling fans on because the amt of dirt that came off of them. The coffee maker was full of old coffee. The screens had holes in them in the doors in the kitchen and bedroom- Dead flies were all over the cabin- when moving the furniture, there was dirt under the couches and the chairs in the living room. Upstairs in the loft and downstairs, the sofa beds were broken and we had to use blow up beds- there were several other issues such as dirt you can see on the kitchen walls and many light bulbs were burnt out. We couldn't use the grill since it was so rusted out and had to bring in another ourselves. Obviously I would not spend money on renting this property again....

4/10 Poor

Not quite up to par
This is not our first VRBO North Carolina mountain rental. At this price, I was expecting more than what we got. The location is okay, about 30 minutes from Tweetsie, which is between Boone and Blowing Rock. The property is also okay, in a secluded valley which was good for walks, and would be good for kids riding bikes. The town of Todd is very close by, with a few water activities and fishing available on the New River. The house has a very nice close range view of a wooded mountain on the other side of the valley, but not the long-range views with folded mountains that I prefer. When we entered the house, the windows were all open and the ceiling fans all on, but the house was still very hot and stuffy. First surprise: no air conditioning. At this price, I expected it, and never thought to ask. Nothing was included. The info I received after paying for the cabin includes, "Bring your own toilet paper, paper towels, toiletries, dish soap, trash bags, and detergents (should you have laundry needs during your stay)." The house has 4 bedrooms which slept the 10 of us very comfortably. But one of the upstairs bedrooms is VERY small, with a futon, and the ceiling fan in this room shook and made so much noise it was unusable. There is a loft between the upstairs bedrooms with pullout sofas, a double and two singles. The screens were generally in poor repair, several of them not closing all the way. Most of the doors did not close smoothly. There were utensils and pots/pans, but the silverware was remarkably cheap, several dishes chipped, and everything was mismatched. Everything seemed to be on the cheap. Again, not what I expect at this price point. The wood trim below the eaves on the front of the house, on the main deck, was riddled with wood wasp holes. There was non-stop wasp and bee activity, making it impossible for some of us to enjoy the deck at all. The picnic table on the deck is warped to the point of being unusable. There is a nice rustic fire pit outside. We did enjoy a fire after I cleaned up all the beer cans from previous users. All in all, this is okay if you do not expect luxury of any sort. Cabins are often rustic, even more so than this one. But they should be priced accordingly.

Great Weekend
Wonderful weekend. The house had lots of room for our 3 families. The kids loved the hot tub, they are already planning a trip back for next year. They loved exploring outside. Very comfortable, kitchen was fully stocked. Sunrise from the deck was beautiful. The 2 oversized leather recliners were great. Very nice.
