Description:
Bearwallow Cottage is one of the most popular homes in our Yonder luxury portfolio, as it has been operating for over 5 years(!), and is quickly becoming a favorite retreat for guests! It is not surprising when you put a terrific home together with a private, secure property, extensive outdoor space to walk, run, or ride a bike with views and more.

25 minutes' drive (16 miles) to downtown Asheville, our secluded cottage on Bearwallow Mountain has breathtaking views of Blue Ridge Mountains from spacious front porch. Newly upgraded kitchen and bathrooms. Right-off-the-property, easy-access hiking trails to breath-taking views.on the top of the Bearwallow mountainside; just a short drive to just about everything. It is VERY easy to access the home, via only paved roads right up to Bearwallow Mountain Road, which is gravel, but used by all vehicles. The home affords year round access, does NOT require 4-wheel drive except in Winter.

Open, light-filled interior with bedrooms & full baths downstairs and ample loft space plus full bath upstairs. Inviting, spacious front porch with breath-taking views ideal for lounging, birdwatching, dining, dancing and truly getting away from it all. Cottage is nestled in mountains and is made for people who love beautiful mountain scenery.

Get ready to feel relaxed and "right at home" in this cozy, contemporary mountain style retreat home. With mountain & forest views, high ceilings, vaulted spaces, wood, carpet and tile floors, you will immediately feel at home at Bearwallow Cottage. (That is of course if you can tear yourself away from the relaxing forest views & soaking in spectacle of the Blue Ridge Mountains, & actually venture inside!) The great room, with stone fireplace, and fully equipped kitchen, is where everyone will want to gather to enjoy their time together inside the house. But, if you need some "alone time", there is plenty of space inside and out to find your own serenity. There are outside porches, decks, and patios for ultimate outdoor relaxation & private forest views.

Kids & adults love getting out in and around the expansive neighborhood community & explore the other outdoor areas. While everyone enjoys the home and community amenities, you can pull up a chair and take in the relaxing privacy afforded by the mountainside forest view, observe the night as it fills with stars, and watch the fire flies come out to play in your backyard. Or, toast some s'mores and share stories, well into the star-filled nights at the expansive outdoor fire-pit.

Take a seat and enjoy the sound of nature and the serenity in your own private paradise at the top of the world. The private estate property offers lots of acreage for nature walks and exploring, and other exercise on the mountain without leaving the community property. You also can walk to 2 different off-site hiking trails on Bearwallow Mountain.

You are just minutes from America's favorite scenic byway, The Blue Ridge Parkway, motorcycle touring, biking, hiking, white water rafting, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, zip lining, Segway tour…just about any outdoor activity! Or, take a quick ride to downtown Hendersonville, or up to downtown Asheville to enjoy the first-rate restaurants, shopping, galleries, spas, and entertainment.

Christmas getaway
Our family wanted a getaway after Christmas to go see the lights at Biltmore. We all agreed to stay in something with more mountain "charm", and we were not disappointed with Bearwallow Cottage! We arrived late afternoon and were pleased to see the pavilion decorated with lights, as well as our cottage and very own Christmas tree!!! The kitchen had all we needed, the beds were on the firm side (which we prefer), the bathrooms were just right , we had plenty of room for our family of 7 both watching TV and at the dining room table. There was a bit of dust in the windows, but the view, the pavilion pickleball, the porch and the hot tub more than made up for that. Although it is a bit outside of Asheville, it was close to several hikes and Chimney Rock. The unpaved road was manageable for both our 4 wheel drive vehicles and one 2 wheel drive SUV and the directions were spot-on. We also had plenty of parking for our 3 vehicles. Thank you Bearwallow Cottage for a lovely visit!!

Stunning views from the large windows
We chose a fall time to visit snd the colors didn’t disappoint. The cabin was clean and inviting. The biggest challenge is driving the mountain road to get there as the pavement becomes narrow gravel road with many twists and turns.

Mountain trip with friends
The view is stunning. Very clean and maintained property. Would 100 percent recommend. Only issue we had was the hot tub was not warm the first day. The water was low and had not been heating prior to us getting there. It was resolved by the next day and was able to be used.
