Nice and Peaceful
We have been taking a lake vacation for the past 6 years. Our first trip to lake murray. This home is in a nice, peaceful cove. It has plenty of room, a nice kitchen for cooking and a pretty screened in porch for anytime of the day. The big man marina is one mile from the house and they have the best burgers and fries! Our family enjoyed the dock, foosball table and air hockey table. We had a wonderful family vacation!

Second straight year we have stayed here. Nice location for playing in the water and lots of amenities such as kayaks, foosball and air hockey. Clean home. We enjoy it!

Graduation family visit.
We stayed three nights for our grandson's graduation from college. The house is in a great secluded location, very quiet, great lake view, nice boat dock. It has a large screened back porch where we spent a lot of time. The house is very nice, but it needs some (TLC) tender love and care. We would stay there again if the occasion arises.

This was the best stocked kitchen we’ve encountered and the foosball and air hockey games were a hit with young and old. Lots of room for family of 9. We will definitely be back!

Lake House
We enjoyed just about everything except for all of the bugs. The house had quite a few spiders inside and out, then the lake area was swarming. Usually around the lake they were gone by the afternoon but the mornings were the worst. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

Great location on a quiet part of the Lake
Clean place with plenty of kitchen items and comfortable family room. Screened in porch overlooked the lake and made for a sweet place to drink coffee and have dinner. There was no ladder off the dock which made getting back onto the dock very difficult to impossible.

Loved the Shellcracker
We absolutely loved everything about this house. It was very roomy and had everything we needed. The location was perfect. My husband doesn’t ever want to leave our house, but when I told him it was only 18 minutes from home, he said he would try it. Well, he didn’t want to leave when it was time. This was the most vacation I think we ever had. Thanks for making it that way.

Great Place to Recharge
Excellent size cabin for a family of 4+. Everything needed for a weekend was there, and plenty of kitchen items to get you through a few meals. Outstanding outdoor dining and patio area! We spent half our time out there when not on the water. The dock suited our 24' boat with ease and had plenty of depth for jumping, swimming, and kayaking. The only negative item is the access road to the house. Very narrow, single vehicle width and a sharp hair pin turn had it difficult to bring our truck and trailer to the property. Excellent location to Big Man's boat ramp for launching and recovering of our boat made this a winner place to stay!

Relaxing lake retreat
A quiet spot in a comfortable house, with a well-outfitted kitchen, large screened-in porch overlooking the lake, a dock for sunning on and jumping in the lake. Oh, and an air hockey table! We had a fun and restful time.

Even better than described
The description of this property is very accurate- actually , it is even better in person than in pictures!!! It’s a little tricky to find at night do to hidden signs ( dirt roads in excellent condition), but GPS got us there. When typing in address, make sure to type in exactly as listed. There is another Shellcracker in Lexington 😂

Fabulous Weekend!
We had a wonderful time at Shellcracker! The location was perfect, tucked away and private yet not too far from a couple of fun little towns or places to pick up groceries. We had a great time paddling and swimming off the dock and were able to explore the area without fear of boats whizzing by. We enjoyed paddling to Big Man's Marina for a snack. The house was clean and layout was great for a family gathering. I only wish we were able to extend our last day's stay by a couple of hours to enjoy the beautiful day with less rush to get checked out, but it was not an option.

Peaceful and beautiful getaway
Sitting in the screened in porch looking out at the lake is so peaceful. Kayaking and boating are fun daytime activities with family meals and games at night make this a wonderful getaway.

Fun time with family
My family has rented this house before and the accommodations are good for a large group . We had a very nice time and there’s plenty of space and bathrooms just wish they would upgrade a few things like the refrigerator as this is the same refrigerator in this home when we rented it in 2016 that did not close well then!

Exactly as expected
The house smelled fresh (usually lake houses can have a musty smell) and it was very clean (again - not something you usually find with rentals). It has a well stocked kitchen and the outside included two kayaks and many life vests that weren't advertised as included but were available. It was a nice surprise. The access to physically get into the water was very easy and the cove was pretty clear and not too choppy. Very nice. Would stay again. I would highly recommend you bring a LOT of bug spray. It's a very wooded property and the mosquitos are the worse I've ever seen. The house requires a 5 day minimum stay but they only give you 8 towels - one for each person. You'll need to bring more or be prepared to do laundry. Lastly, one of our children left something important at the house and we didn't notice until the next day. We've tried repeatedly to get ahold of someone to grant us access to pick it back up and no one will return our calls. There is ZERO customer service. If you have a problem you're on your own.

Perfect home for every age
The house was perfect for a weekend getaway with friends. It was spacious enough for everyone. There was a dock about 5 mins away where we were able to dock our boat. The house had plenty of life jackets for everyone to use. The screened in porch was perfect to have breakfast and dinner. They also had a selection of classic movies which we were able to use for a movie night. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you may need to cook and there was also a grill on the property that we utilized. Everyone had an amazing time and it was definitely a weekend we would not forget.

Secret hideaway for lake lovers.
Oh my goodness! Great place for family! Lots of room, lots of activities, fun yet quiet. Even the towels were great! Kayak, air hockey, clean, the best. Want to go back tomorrow.
