The Rattlesnake neighborhood is the perfect location for a stay in Missoula - and indeed Western Montana. Only ten minutes from Missoula Airport, and nestled in the valley at the base of Mount Jumbo, the home is less than 2 miles to either downtown Missoula and the University, or in the opposite direction to the Rattlesnake Trailhead - the entrance to thousands of acres of untouched National Forest. We're also only walking distance from the awesome Rattlesnake Market - (great lunches and dinners and weekend breakfasts - and the spot to get all your essentials) and only a short stroll to beautiful Greenough Park.
Missoula has so much to offer at any time of the year. Not only does it have great shopping, restaurants, arts, culture, and the University, the opportunity for outdoor activity is boundless. There's hiking and biking on safe and family friendly paths around town, mountain-biking on maintained back-country trails, horseback riding, peaceful tube floating on the river or whitewater rafting, surfing on Brennan's wave in town and, of course, some of the best trout fishing in the world is right on your doorstep. There's four blue ribbon trout waters within immediate access - the Bitterroot, the Clark Fork, Rock Creek and the Blackfoot, made famous by Norman Maclean's 'A River Runs Through It'. If you're looking to spend some time on the water, we can put you in touch with the best guides in Montana - just ask Brian.
In winter, there's Snowbowl ski area only 20 minutes away and a number of other bigger mountains all within an hour or two. Have a soak in one of the regions natural hot springs after a day on the mountain before heading to one of Missoula's restaurants, bars or music venues.
