About this property

*Private Hot Springs* Ocotillo House

Come to Wonder Valley Hot Springs, only a 15 minute drive from Joshua Tree National Park, for the ultimate peaceful and restorative retreat. This booking is for our Ocotillo House, a one bedroom house with an outdoor patio in front, one queen beds and a twin daybed, kitchen and living room, with private rock soaking tub fed with our mineral rich hot springs water and deck in the back. Explore the park during the day and soak under the stars at night!
Wonder Valley Hot Springs is a 20 acre property with multiple homes, each with their own private stone soaking tub. You may see workers and/or other guests walking around on the land but your house will be completely private.

If you would like to rent the house next door as well which is a one bedroom please see the listing here: airbnb DOT com/rooms/37357012

This house has one bedroom with a queen bed, as well as a daybed in the living room that could sleep one more person each if desired. The house has lots of windows for natural light, heat & A/C.

The house also has its own private stone soaking tub that can be filled with water from our mineral rich hot springs and a deck in the backyard.

The kitchen is equipped with pots, pans & utensils for cooking and serving (no microwave, toaster, blender or spices). We recommend bringing groceries as there are only a few restaurants nearby and limited grocery store options in the vicinity.

We have the best wifi available in the area. Please note that our location is fairly remote and this wifi is slower than what is available in most towns and cities. We do have reliable cell service.

Because we are entirely off the water grid and all of our water comes from the hot springs, there may be the equivalent of “low-tide” for an hour or two when the pressure gets very low before it’s back to normal. This may effect bathroom, shower, kitchen and tubs.

We do not have any TVs or cable.

All linens and decor are organic, sustainably sourced and eco-friendly whenever possible and all decor is vegan and cruelty-free, we use no animal products on the property.
All of our linens are organic or microfiber, and they get stained easily and bleach destroys them. What we do to be environmentally conscious is we wash them and then tie dye with natural indigo dye. So celebrate the imperfections.

Entrance is located on a dirt road less than 1/4 mile from paved road.

We are pet friendly but do require an additional $40 fee per pet, per night and pets must be disclosed in request to book message. Pets are not allowed on the bed or furniture. Please bring a dog bed or blanket. Pets are not allowed to be left unattended except in a crate. As we are a property where guests come for peace and quiet, we ask that you not bring dogs that will bark.

When it’s cold out, it may take up 15-20 minutes for the shower to heat up. The extra water is used for irrigation and contributing to the oasis.

The rock tub is tuned in and get hot pretty fast year round.

Guest have a private house with a dedicated back yard with a private hot springs rock tub and deck.

There are several other houses and soaking tubs and that are not included into this rental.

There will always be someone available, either in person or by phone, to answer any questions or assist with concerns while on the property.

We are set in an incredibly peaceful area, about 30 minutes from the town of Joshua Tree outside of 29 Palms.

Driving is required to access local restaurants, stores or Joshua Tree National Park but Uber is available here should you elect not to have a car during your stay.

This is new listing! We appreciate any feedback on how to make your experience staying with us even better! Also, please note that we are updating some of the furniture so the house may look slightly different than the current photos upon your arrival.

Excellent place to stargaze
Went out for a weekend of stargazing as our stay aligned with a meteor shower. The listing was exactly as advertised and was a great quiet location.

We had an incredible time at the Ocotillo House. The stone tub was truly the highlight. Thanks Doug for being a communicative, kind host.

Why they chose this property

I have been an avid love of hot springs and have visited them around the world. It was a dream of mine to one day live one land with natural hot springs.
A unique set of circumstances revealed this land to me and I decided to move here and develop it.

What makes this property unique

This land is as little as 2.5 hours from Los Angeles and 3 hours from Las Vegas. We are 30 miles from the nearest Interstate with jet black nights that reveal the Milky Way and all the star and planets in the galaxy.
We also have an enormous sky with sunrises and sunsets every day.
The natural, mineral hot springs are divine and the ability to soak in private 24 hours a day is a rare treat.
