Lakeside cabin on pristine Diamond Lake in the heart of the Chequamegon National Forest just outside of Cable, Wisconsin. This cabin in very close to the world famous American Birkebeiner cross country ski trail and scores of other mountain biking, hiking, and snowmobiling trails. We are located on 10 acres of forest land adjacent to the National Forest for easy access to hunting, hiking, snowshoeing, etc. Several other lakes, including Lake Namekagon and Lake Owen are nearby for your boating and fishing pleasure. The property has over 200 feet of lakefront shoreline and has a dock for swimming, fishing and boating and a boathouse that provides a beautiful place to watch sunsets while sipping beverages with friends and family. The dock area is a great place to swim, the lake bottom is sand and the depth increase is gradual as you head out into the lake, very safe for children and other bathers, but for added safety, please wear a floatation device while swimming in the lake, we have several hanging in the boathouse, feel free to borrow as needed.
Also, we welcome hunters and snowmobilers to stay at the cabin but please be aware we do not allow hunting or snowmobiling on our property. Hunters and snowmobilers should access nearby public lands and/or snowmobile trails via public roads and not across private land, this can be done easily as these lands/trails are close by. If you have trailers for sleds, please contact host for parking instructions. Also, we appreciate that all guests be respectful to our neighbors regarding noise and traffic when using snowmobiles on the neighborhood roads.
Lastly, the Diamond Lake Association is working closely with local town government to pass an ordinance banning the use of wake boats on Diamond lake due to the damage these boats impart to the lake. These boats can transport invasive species into Diamond lake from the large water reservoir they bring from other lakes plus they damage the existing lake structure and plant life from the turbulence they create. As a result, we do not allow guests to bring or use wake boats while staying at the cabin. Thank you!
