Whether you are in SB for business or pleasure - experience the convenience of being downtown combined with the comfort of home.

Our 1 bedroom, 1½ bath private retreat offers luxury accommodation with a bright, open floor plan, vaulted ceilings, gourmet kitchen, walk in closet, washer/dryer and hardwood floors throughout. Enjoy the best of California living with huge sliding doors in the living room and bedroom opening to the wrap around deck. Full bath with shower + half bath, C&B linens, Dash & Albert rugs, Raoul Textiles fabrics, mid- century modern vintage furnishings, and original art await you!

Walk a block to State Street and world-class restaurants, shopping, nightlife, cultural attractions and the Funk Zone. Or grab our ‘beach bag to go’ and head to the beach, the pier and Stearns Wharf - just 4 blocks away!

Relax on the wrap around porch with coffee or cocktails while you enjoy the outdoor fireplace or soak in the hot tub after a day of exploring. Our City Stay at Sweet Spot Cottage
This Sweet Spot Cottage was just that; it was a sweet spot within walking distance to so many wonderful places, the cottage was well equipped and beautifully decorated. Off street gated parking appreciated as was access to Debbie. All and all a lovely experience; we hope to return! Karen and Nick Schmit

Lovely house, amazing hosts
The house is perfect, we absolutely loved our time there and there really isn’t any detail about the house or outside areas that we would’ve changed. It’s the perfect size for two people, the kitchen is so well equipped (and bigger than it looks in the photos) and the hot tub and outdoor fireplace add a special touch. The location of the house is great, just a few minutes walk from Lower State St, the funk zone and the beach. There are fantastic restaurants, bars and shops just a short walk away in any direction you choose to head in from the front door. Debbie and Jim are the kindest and most helpful hosts we’ve ever had on our travels, no problem is too big or small for them to fix. For example, I noticed there was no kettle in the house to make tea, so we mentioned it to Debbie and within a day she brought us a brand new kettle - problem solved! We wanted to go to the beach but didn’t have an umbrella for shade, we asked Debbie and again within a few hours we had a beach umbrella. They really do go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. While we were staying there was some construction noise from a project happening opposite the house but that is the only even slightly negative thing we could say (and obviously that’s out of Debbie & Jim’s control). But I think if you’re out enjoying beautiful Santa Barbara and the surrounding areas on your trip, it wouldn’t be a big issue at all.

A Terrific Stay + Exceeded Expectations
In the heart of Santa Barbara and just minutes from the beach, this property really was a hidden gem. Perfect for two people, the home was clean, spacious, and equipped with all of the essentials. The private deck, outdoor fireplace and jacuzzi were terrific pluses too, and the hosts were super accommodating and responsive.

Debbie first came to Santa Barbara in 1974 to attend UCSB. Jim came much earlier when his family owned an avocado ranch in Carpinteria in the 60's. We have a landscape and contracting business and have worked & volunteered for decades with many of our local nonprofits. We consider ourselves 'lucky' because we have been gainfully employed in SB since our early 20's, own our home and have raised our two sons here.

Why they chose this property

We had been looking for 'just the right rental property' to welcome more guests – Sweet Spot is perfect - wonderful location, plenty of charm and a great addition to our other cottages.

What makes this property unique

Sweet Spot Cottage truly is just that! We love the fact that the cottage has been around for 100 years and is part of Santa Barbara history.

And since we enjoy walking and biking, we were especially pleased that our guests can easily 'walk and bike' Santa Barbara. Walk score of ‘96’ and bike score of ‘92’!
