About this property

Lazy Bear Chalet: 6BR,Theater,Spa,Games,Sleeps 18+

Memories to last a lifetime are made here in the Great Smoky Mountains, in this luxury cabin with floor-to-ceiling windows. Snuggle in front of a cozy fire or in the private hot tub. Relax on one of 3 decks, play pool, or watch a movie on a massive 75" Theater TV

We're only a mile from the Pigeon Forge Parkway, on good roads, set back from the road in the trees for privacy and privately-owned for that personal touch.

The Lazy Bear Chalet is nestled in the foothills of the Smokies, about a mile from the Pigeon Forge parkway. The rustic mountain atmosphere is right in front of you, thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows and beamed cathedral ceilings. The natural wood finishes and a classy warm ambiance welcomes you to your home-away-from-home. Enjoy complementary gourmet Coffee, Tea, and Hot Chocolate in the well-equipped kitchen, with all the comforts of home.

RECENT RENOVATIONS:
- All new flooring - No More Carpet!!!
- All TV's replaced with flat screen TVs with Roku/Netflix/Hulu
- Old theater chairs replaced with beautiful sectional sleeper
- Huge 75" Theater TV
- New kitchen appliances

Step out onto one of the three decks, one of which is completely screened against bugs. Spend your evenings grilling steaks on the gas BBQ, enjoying a favorite cocktail, or soaking in the private hot tub after a long day of exploring Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the Great Smoky Mountains. Keep an eye out for local wildlife! Bears, Raccoons and other critters are common in the area, but won't bother you unless you leave food or trash out.

When you're ready to head inside, gather in front of the stone fireplace to keep nice and toasty warm.

EVERY ROOM in the house has a Smart TV with access to all the popular streaming channels such as Netflix, Hulu, Prime, AppleTV, Disney+ and many more (Note: Some channels require your own login credentials). We provide a PAID subscription to YouTubeTV which includes national networks such as ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CNN as well as many live sports channels such as ESP1/2/3, Fox Sports, CBS Sports and much, much, more. The Living Room and Game Rooms also have DVD/Blu-ray players.

The Game Room boasts a pool table, new sectional sleeper sofa, a game/card table, a massive 75" flat-screen TV, and a booming surround sound audio system. There is also a wet bar with beer refrigerator, and French doors that open onto the deck.

The open-plan Living Room also has a Blu-ray player as well as Netflix & Hulu, including local network channels and sports networks.

In the kitchen, you'll find all the cooking necessities you expect at home plus a toaster, crock-pot, blender, coffee machine, and Keurig gourmet coffee maker. Complementary coffee, tea, cream & sugar, and a spice rack are included. Whip up a feast for your loved ones and gather around the wooden dining table to enjoy your meal. For your convenience, a washer and dryer, iron and ironing board, and a hairdryer are all provided, along with all necessary bed linens, towels, handsoap, dishsoap, laundry & dishwasher detergents, and trashbags.

With Great Smoky Mountain National Park only a short 20-minute drive away, the adventures are endless! Pack your hiking boots and be sure to bring your camera, as some of the country's most remarkable mountain scenery is right at your fingertips. When the snow begins to fall, head over to Ober Gatlinburg Ski Area to spend the day cruising along the slopes, and then end your day at the Smoky Mountain Brewery for a taste of local craft beers before heading home.

Explore everything Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg have to offer. Whether it's a mountain hike, a causal walk, skiing through the Smoky Mountains, or a fun-filled visit to nearby Dollywood!

We are close to everything!
1 mile to Pigeon Forge
2 miles to Dollywood
7 miles to Gatlinburg
10 miles to the Great Smoky Mountains

The cabin is privately owned and managed by a husband-and-wife team for that personal touch -- no Property Managers here! If you have a problem you call and I answer the phone personally, not some call center who-knows-where. If you need something, let us know what we can do to make your stay wonderful!

Notes:
- Parking: There is space for about four cars without blocking each other in. But if you don't mind blocking each other, you could easily fit 6 cars.
- There is a private hot tub on the deck, but no pool
- The ground floor is wheelchair-accessible! (living room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, deck)
- Security: There is a security camera at the front door. The camera does not point toward windows or the hot tub.
- Access: The front door has an electronic lock, you will be provided the code a few days before check-in.
- BBQ: There is a gas BBQ on the deck. Please note that it's just not feasible to clean this after every guest, and so you may have to clean it before use, depending on how the last guest left it.
- WiFi: There is excellent high-speed 100mb WiFi at the property.
- Vrbo refunds incur a small credit card processing fee which will be passed on to the guest.
- No parties allowed

BEDROOMS:
Bedroom 1 is an upstairs Master Bedroom Suite with a King bed and vaulted ceilings, a small futon for 1-2 kids, and a private bathroom.
Bedroom 2 is an open-air loft that overlooks the living room, and includes a twin bed plus a twin trundle bed underneath. It also has an adjacent bathroom, and is a perfect arrangement for a couple who wants their kids nearby -- or teenagers that prefer to sleep alone in a twin bed. (Please note that this room is semi-private with no door, and there are stairs nearby so please take care if you bring toddlers).
Bedroom 3 is on the ground level, with a Queen bed and an adjacent bathroom.
Bedroom 4 is on the ground level, with a Queen bed, a private bathroom, and a door to the back deck.
Bedroom 5 is on the lower level and has a Queen bed and an adjacent bathroom.
Bedroom 6 is on the lower level and has a Queen bed plus a double futon, and a bathroom across the hall.

There is also a sofa bed in the Game Room, and another in the Living Room.

DISABLED ACCESS: While we unfortunately don't have special equipment such as safety rails or custom-widened doorways, we do have a flat entryway for wheelchairs & walkers all the way from the parking area into the entire Ground Floor (Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen, Hallway, Bathroom, two bedrooms, and back deck). There are no steps anywhere on this floor.

Family Vacation
It was close enough to the parkway for easy access to fun but far enough away to enjoy a quiet relaxing night. We had 14 people in our group ranging from infant to adult and we all enjoyed this property. The host was quick to answer all questions.
