A nice place to stay!
Very nice and simple place to stay. We are a family at 5, 3 kids (4,7,11) and 2 adults. We really enjoyed our stay. And the kids absolutely love the hot tub. It’s a very beautiful outside space unfortunately the weather didn’t allow us to use it much. The curvy driveway took us by a slight surprise at first, but we had no issues getting up and down in a large SUV. Andrew was super nice and called me immediately when I had a question. I would recommend staying here.

An incredible stay!
We came out to Pittsburgh from Lancaster to attend the Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling State wrestling Tournament. We booked this home last minute when our previous vrbo notified us of a double booking just a few days before our trip. Andrew was super accommodating to our situation, and made sure we were taken care of and had everything we needed for our stay. The home was very clean, and welcoming. Andrew answered all of our questions and was extremely prompt in all of his responses. 10/10 recommend this home, we enjoyed the hot tub and the privateness of the home while loving its central location to all of Pittsburgh’s main attractions. If you need a place to grab dinner while staying here we also highly recommend Alioto’s Sports Bar, only a 2 min drive from the house, they had wonderful food and atmosphere at reasonable prices. Thank you Andrew, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay at any of your properties in the future!

Comfortable home
The home was nice. The restroom on the top floor had not been cleaned. Someone used the restroom prior to us coming and left remnants in and on the toilet. The owner was very pleasant and responsible. We couldn't sit outside as the cushions were left out in the rain and not in the storage bin. Good location. Close to several stores.

Like staying in a treehouse!
My family and I had a wonderful time during our stay in what we felt like was a treehouse. We had everything we needed, comfortable beds, and made great use of the hot tub. There was plenty of room for the 8 of us. The property was beautiful and covered in autumn trees and leaves. We were just minutes from downtown, where we attended a Steelers game, and took in some other sights. We would love to stay again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nice place
Good location and nice property! The house was clean and comfortable. The hot tub and fire pit were nice as well, making for some very pleasant evenings. The driveway was a bit tricky for my friends with larger cars, although I avoided the problem altogether by parking on the street.

About the host

I'm Andrew, and I cannot express to you enough how happy I am to be back in my hometown of Pittsburgh. After growing up in the area's declining steel industry, and moving to New England for about 9 years, I'm finally back to the only city that ever felt like home.

I started Steel River Ventures as a way to embrace the city I love when I moved back home to Pittsburgh in 2017. Now I want to share my homes and my city with our guests! I've been fortunate enough to grow over the years along with Pittsburgh and watch it transform. With every day that passes, I discover something else about this city that I love and would be happy to share that with you.

I am more than happy to be as active a host as you'd like. By default, you as a guest will have your privacy, but I'm always available to meet and share my thoughts on the area with you. Be warned though, I love Pittsburgh and that will come through in our conversations!

My primary income is working in vocational learning technology, but I am a car guy at heart. Whenever my schedule allows, I try to get to local track events at roadcourses, auto-cross or hillclimb venues. I enjoy teaching performance driving, car control and driver safety as well. I also try to read a little (usually non-fiction), visit the gym as often as possible, and spend time with family and friends.

Why they chose this property

It really is such a unique experience to be so close to everything Pittsburgh has to offer, but still feel like you're off deep in the woods.

What makes this property unique

With so many places to work from outside, I wish it was summer all year round. You can head to the lower parts of the property to relax and get some time alone as well.
