Creekside Cottage in the Woods

Welcome to Serenity Creek!

Serenity Creek is a charming and affordable creekside mountain cottage on a large wooded lot on Beech Mtn. The slopes of Ski Beech are less than two (2) miles away. Mountain biking, hiking, walking, fishing, sledding, and more are all around you on Beech Mountain, as is the village with fun shopping, restaurants, putt-putt, weekend concerts, and more. The charming mountain village of Banner Elk is about five (5) miles away and offers a downtown with lots of open-air markets and craft fairs, great shops and restaurants, fun parks, and much more. Boone and Blowing Rock are both about twenty-five (25) miles away. Seven Devils, about fifteen (15) miles away, boasts Otter Falls trails as well as Hawksnest Resort which has snowtubing and zip lines. The village of Valle Crucis features an incredible riverfront community park, as well as the renowned Original Mast General Store which dates back to the mid-1800s. Grandfather Mountain is less than fifteen (15) miles away. Sugar Mountain is about ten (10) miles away. The Elk, New, and Watauga Rivers are all nearby! Also, only a few miles away on the backside of Beech Mtn is the Buckeye Lake and Recreation Center which is open to the public. The lake is there for fishing, canoeing, paddle boating, and more. The recreation center has many fun activities and sporting courts and fields both inside and outside.

The cottage itself self is one level with a level entry, great for those with mobility issues. The parking area gives way to a level walkway onto the front deck and into the front door. The open living, dining, and kitchen area are easy to navigate. The master suite has a queen bed, a full ensuite bathroom with a tub and shower combo, and a door leading to a pleasant rear patio with outdoor seating. The second bedroom also has a queen bed and an HDTV. There is another full bathroom with a tub and shower combo centrally located near the living room and the second bedroom. The living room has a big HDTV, games for the family, and a queen sleeper sofa for extra accommodations.
**Allows pets with an additional fee.**

The front and rear decks are open-air and offer seating, an outdoor dining area, and a grill. Steps lead down to a lower deck set right beside the creek and lead to the big yard, bordered by a swirling creek and boasting a nice wood-burning fire pit with ample seating. The rest of the yard is partially wooded yet fully usable and explorable. In addition to a lower laundry room with a washer and dryer, Serenity Creek offers WiFi Internet, digital TV programming, and a fun gas log buck stove in the living area. A short drive to the slopes of Beech Mountain Ski Resort for skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, snowtubing, sledding, and more during winter. The quad lift also runs during the warmer months for mountain bikers who enjoy riding technical downhill mountain trails cut carefully through the woods. Fun and invigorating, as well as safe for those who are capable. Beech Mountain also offers technical mountain bike rentals and all of the safety equipment you will need.
**Firewood available for purchase after booking. Please contact Carolina Cabin Rentals if interested.**

Pets are permitted, dogs only, two (2) maximum with a 50-pound weight limit per dog. Standard pet fees apply.

Lots of fun at a wonderfully affordable price! Come and enjoy Serenity Creek!

Wonderful; restful; looking forward to returning
I don't own rental property, so I might be out of line here, but the bedroom carpets need to be cleaned and some painted surfaces need to be touched up. On the other hand, this property has everything we were looking for: lots of windows; a creek; a bridge; trees, trees, trees; and decor that doesn't scream "cabin." Plus, our dog could be included. (This trip was by far her very favorite -- she hasn't said so, but you can tell.) The sheets and towels were very nice, and the kitchen was more than adequate for our needs. The furniture was comfortable. If I ever actually retire, I know where I'm headed to treat myself. This property was just right for us.

Cozy home in the woods
This home is very cozy & cute. Loved the brook running close by. We came during a snowstorm and you will need to have a 4 wheel drive or snow chains for your vehicle if you come when it’s snowing and icy. Parkway was fine but as soon as we turned off and onto the neighborhood roads it was very slick. Loved the area and very close to ski resort if you are coming to ski Beech.

Small and dated but pretty location!
Perfect for our family of 3! Check-in was less than smooth/convenient - we were issued a code to get in but the code did not work. It took almost an hour to receive a response from anyone (we checked-in on a Sunday). We eventually received a corrected code and all went smoothly after that... The entire "cabin" was clean (albeit dated and a little musty smelling) and the kitchen was well appointed - we had everything we needed. The living area was cozy and comfy with a decent sized tv. There are lots of floor to ceiling windows so the views are great for watching nature (we had deer right outside our windows everyday)! The beds are comfortable and we all slept well - plenty of bedding. The bathrooms are VERY tiny & dated but clean. One of the medicine cabinets fell off the wall during our stay - thankfully, I was there to catch it and we had an issue with one of the toilets getting clogged. We had to go outside to the lower level to access the washer/dryer (no biggie to us) - everything worked well. The area surrounding the "cabin" is very pretty! We walked over a stream (via a deck) to get from our car to the cabin. There are a couple of decks to sit on and listen to the stream. There was also a fire ring with seating near the stream. The gravel road getting to and from the cabin was fairly steep but we did not need 4X4 to access the area - would definitely be a necessity if arriving during winter weather or expecting winter weather during a stay. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended for another night! There are lots of things to do in the area - just takes a bit to drive to really get anywhere. We had to come off Beech Mountain to have a choice of restaurants (most places had limited hours or were closed due to it being off season) but Banner Elk was pretty close. There is a little general store on Beech that had everything we needed. We would stay again!

Beautiful place with room for improvement
Nice place but we had very brown water. House was hard to get warm. Blinds in living area were a gnarled mess that I spent an hour trying to fix. Linens were delightful. Kitchen was very well appointed!
