8/10 Good

Good but a bit dated
Good: Very CLEAN, no odd smells, decent view, some new-ish living room furniture, den like a 3rd bedroom, new fridge, new microwave, new dishwasher, Keurig coffee machine & pods was a nice touch.
Bad: Keyed lock (electronic locks are best) meant picking up & dropping off keys at the marketplace office and carrying around keys wherever we went and one key sometimes wouldn’t engage the lock all the time - difficult to use (all VERY inconvenient). Cheap new fridge meant no ice maker (used ice trays) and no water dispenser meant buying lotsa bottled water (very inconvenient). 80’s decor, old bathrooms, old kitchen and stove (w/referenced new appliances).
Comment: I rented this unit for $3K. Usually I prefer renting one that has been updated, has nearly a 180 degree view of the beach (this one was about 50-60 degrees) and costs $3400-$3800 per week. I decided late in July to rent so this was one of the only units available. I’d only rent this one again if it was a last minute decision (I’m jaded) but it’s definitely worth it for a family of 4-6 looking for a budget oceanfront unit with a decent beach view.
Replacing the lock with a keyless electronic lock would cost about $400 installed and the owners should do it immediately after reading this review. A better fridge ($2000 installed or less) is needed. Beyond that, updated bathrooms and the kitchen should be done, albeit very costly to do. Bottom line, a lot of nitpicking on my part due to having been spoiled by renting somewhat costlier units.
