Great views but scrubby pool & house needs serious maintenance
We (4 parents / 6 kids) spent 2 weeks here in August. Location is good and views are great. However, the house and esp. the pool needs serious maintenance. 4 of 6 kids developed ear infections / otitis after swimming in the pool and had to be treated with antibiotics. This spoiled our vacation substantially.
Upon arrival, the saltwater pool was slightly hazy. House keeper said it was okay / normal. So kids started using the pool. Over next 2 days conditioned worsened and eventually pool turned green. Obviously, we had stopped using the pool prior to this, but 4 of 6 kids developed ear infections, had to go on antibiotics and had to refrain from swimming (not ideal for August vacation in the Mediterranean…). Owner sent a pool keeper and after 150kg of salt and lots of chlorine and water, pool was back to normal for week 2 of our stay. But the damage was already done.
The house has grown a bit old and needs makeover investments. Most annoying: kitchen appliances don’t work properly. Dishwasher never fully cleaned the dishes and required prewashing by hand. Hot plates never delivered full heat. So, cooking became a logistical challenge and took too long. House keeper sent technicians, but they only managed to repair the oven door.
To compensate we asked the owner for a small refund (20%). She apologized for the above but only offered a small discount for a future stay and eventually stopped communicating. Needless to say, we have experienced much better customer service elsewher
