About this property

Well-appointed cabin with expansive mountain views, nature and tranquility.

Beautiful cabin, peaceful and secluded just 20 minutes from downtown Boone and Appalachian State University. The home is perfect for family vacations, with ample beds/sleeping space (8-10 people comfortably), close to many attractions (ski resorts, Watauga Lake, Elk Knob State Park) and situated on eight acres of land.

Inquire about the concierge service that we offer, which allows you show up with everything you need or may have forgotten and will surely free up some travel space in the car.

The home is comfortable and spacious, with completely updated kitchen (stainless steel appliances; granite countertops), and tastefully decorated. A two-story wrap-around porch offers plenty of seating, a hot tub and amazing views.

We have an easily accessible area that is approximately .5 acres and cleared out, making it great additional space for parking, star gazing or camping out.

Guests have access to the home and all accessible acres. We have a trail that is a short walk from the driveway that cuts through the bulk of our land; we do our best to keep it decently cut back if you should decide to go exploring.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

This is our home and truly is a special place, and we ask that you respect it as if it were your own. Please report anything spilled or broken and use the space responsibly.

****Parties and events are not allowed****

Concierge
I've found that guests find value in arriving with a stocked fridge, alcohol/beverages taken care of or even decor to fit a specific occasion. In an effort to save the hassle of extra trips and space in a packed car, I've started offering a "concierge" service to make your stay most enjoyable.

If there's anything you'd like, let me know and I will have it waiting for you at the house. Some things past guests requested include:
- Grocery list items
- Alcohol/beer
- Firewood
- Mountain Bikes (we have two)
- Certain clothing

Trash
We do not have trash service, so all trash must be taken with you upon departure. There is a waste center on 421 that is a 7-minute drive away. They are not open every day of the week so please take their hours of operation into consideration. There is a $200 fee for not removing trash upon check out.

AC Unit
There is no AC unit at this property. Due to the high elevation mild average temperatures, one was not put into the home when it was built. Each room has a fan, doors and windows open for cross breezes and the temperature tends to drop drastically at night. We will take additional measures in the summer months to have extra fans and lighter bedding.

Hot Tub
For the hot tub, we use Amerse spa products. The tub is set up for chlorine not bromine. And we use a floating chlorinator with 1 inch chlorine tabs. Every service I pull and spray the filter wipe down the entire tub with a Clorox wipe and balance the pH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness. I also use shock oxidizer water clarifier and Spa defoamer.

Guests
You are required to divulge the number of guests that will be in your group during your stay. If the number of guests exceed that amount, you will be asked to vacate immediately and forfeit the total amount of your reservation. There is a $50 charge for each additional guest over 10.

Due to prior issues with guests, we ask that anyone under the age of 21 submit additional information; I will provide more details in our initial communication, prior to pre-approval.

If your group consists of 8 or more people, we ask that you provide the name and birth date for all guests. If there are more guests at the house than initially disclosed, we will ask that you vacate the premises immediately.

Home Security
There is a Nest security camera on the exterior of the property. There are no internal cameras. There is a $200 fee imposed for tampering with security unit.

Zionville cabin
The cabin was exactly how it was described in the listing. Everything was clean and it was well stocked with towels and dishes. The hot water here was great, we never ran out even with 10 of us staying here. The only thing that went wrong was the whole driveway was iced the whole weekend. We could not even get down it with a 4 wheel drive truck, so we had to park at the top of the driveway and walk in and out every time. Then we had to carry all the luggage up the hill when we checked out.
