About this property

Historic Gem in the Heart of Hilton Village on the James River

Welcome to family friendly, highly sought after, Historic Hilton Village on the James River in Newport News nestled between Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. You can walk to the James River beach & pier & delish restaurants such as Kismet, Circa 1918, & Indulge Bakery & Bistro in under 5 min as well as the Hilton Creamery. (No pets or smoking allowed.)

Located off of I-64 between Williamsburg & Virginia Beach, you can experience all the highlights of Hampton Roads from your centrally located spot.

The space:
Cozy, quaint, comfortable. Amazingly comfortable beds all on 2nd floor. 2 bedrooms have queen beds and the middle bedroom in between them as a twin bed. There is only 1 bathroom on the 2nd floor. The cozy living area makes it feel so homey. A well stocked kitchen with a Keurig, baking, cooking, and serving ware is sure to please. High speed WiFi available for all guests and a smart TV!

Guest access:
The full home and yard is available to guests. Please be courteous of my neighbors. No tents or camping allowed in the yard. No fireworks or parties allowed. The front porch is perfect for a morning cup of tea or coffee or an evening cocktail. This is a family friendly neighborhood and my neighbors' well being is VERY IMPORTANT TO ME!  Please be respectful of this and honor the quiet time of 10pm-6am.
Parking is available on the street in front of and side streets and is first come, first serve.

Other things to note:
Historic Hilton Village was built for shipyard workers during World War I to help build ships. The homes situated within historic Hilton Village were built between 1918 to 1920 and the majority still have many original features including hardwood floors, clawfoot tubs (mine was removed before I bought it), original windows and slate roofs. When opening and closing doors and windows and coming and going please remember the age of the home.

Rules:
Absolutely no smoking of any type on the property. There's a monitor and if smoke is detected there will be up to a $500 fine.
No parties of any type. Only guests registered through VRBO are allowed. Quiet hours are from 10pm-6am.
No pets allowed.

Nice little property in cute area
Hilton Village is one of those places you just have to experience and staying here is a great way to do that. For a small property, it was surprisingly roomy. Hope to come back!

Feels like Home!
Very comfortable stay; we needed an overnight accomodation on a return to the northeast from the far southeast- The house and neighborhood feel like home- very safe- very comfortable. You will have everything you need and if you should need a little more- literally around the corner and a block away are restaurants and shops that will provide! Within driving distance are many local gems- depending on your patate. We always 'Waze' and Google about an hour out, order take away, and enjoy in our VRBO. Walks near the water are near, and even a stroll through the surrounding neighborhood is relaxing. Beds are comfortable, the air conditioning system is easy; simply twist to the right and then to the desired setting to the left and two minutes later cool air will fill the room! As described in the listing, but with an added touch of a good 'feel' when you're actually settled in the house. We would stay again if we were in the area, and would refer this house to anyone in the area. There is plenty of parking off street- we were able to park directly in front of the house with spaces available a few spaces 'down'. An overall A+!

Why they chose this property

I bought this property to help accommodate family and friends traveling to visit me.

What makes this property unique

Short walk to the James River where there's a pier, small beach, and playground behind Hilton Elementary! Walk toward Warwick and there are restaurants, ice creameries, shops, and more! 20-30 minutes to Busch Gardens & Colonial Williamsburg and 45min-1 hour to VA Beach Oceanfront. Soooo much to do in Newport News: VA Living Museum, Mariner's Museum & Noland Trail are both 5 minutes from the house. CNU is 2 miles from the house.
