About this property

The Cottage Getaway on Cranberry Lake

For years, families have vacationed in cramped and expensive city hotel rooms or expensive and busy resorts. More recently, however, savvy vacationers have discovered the convenience and comfort of renting vacation homes and cottages.

We offer our guests an amazing 4-season cottage experience located within minutes of downtown Kingston, Ontario and the world famous 1000 Islands. Our cottage is located on Cranberry Lake, which is one of the many lakes that make up the historic Rideau Canal system - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will love the modern kitchen and the brand new windows throughout the cottage! The cottage is approximately 1200 sq feet with 3 bedrooms and a screened in porch. Our Eastern Ontario cottage sits on 4.5 acres of land and the deck overlooks 600+ feet of waterfront on a point.

Our cottage is less than 10 minutes from a well stocked grocery store, LCBO and convenience store. Our Kingston area vacation home is equipped with almost everything you will need for your vacation, however, we do ask our guests to please bring their own sheets, comforters, pillows, towels, tea towels and dish clothes. Please note that, for the enjoyment of our family and all our guests, we limit the rental to a maximum of four (4) people and we have a very strict no pet and no smoking policy.

BEFORE BOOKING FOR JUNE-SEPTEMBER, PLEASE NOTE: For summer bookings, reservations are booked Friday to Friday for a minimum of 7 days.

When you rent a cottage, what you really get excited about is everything outside the cottage. With 4.5 acres and 600 feet of shoreline, our Cranberry Lake cottage has you covered. For the anglers in the family, Cranberry Lake and the adjoined Dog Lake are known for their excellent bass and pike fishing. Our bay is a paddler's paradise. Take either the canoe or the 2 kayaks and spend the day exploring the lake and shore up onto one of the many crown land islands that dot the bay. After a day of water play, enjoy s'mores around the campfire. The fun doesn't stop at the end of the summer. Come to the cottage to enjoy the amazing autumn colours. And when fall turns to winter, take advantage of the private 2 km trail and bring your snowshoes or cross country skis. If the weather is right, bring your skates and explore the frozen lake. Please keep in mind that, like all outdoor activities, some seasons are better than others and not all activities will be available at all times. Please, never go on a frozen lake without first ensuring it is safe to do so.

Nice change of scenery
We enjoyed our stay very much. The gas indoor fireplace and outdoor fireplace were highlights as was the view on the (frozen) lake. The house was immaculate and well equipped. Neighbours are far and the area is very quiet overall. I would consider returning to canoe on the beautiful lake and enjoy the sunset from the dock. Thank you to the hosts!

This is the opportunity to get away from all and everything. Enjoy nature and the solitude.
We loved it - it is possibly too rugged a landscape for some. All needs were anticipated and provided for. And we were there in late autumn - it would be spectacular in summer.
