About this property

A Mountain Getaway - Stunning Views -Winter Wonderland with Sledding & Nature

The Eagle's Nest is nestled on 10 acres with 360 degree views of Castle Peak, Beaver Creek and Vail. Use the private sledding hill or slip on some snowshoes for a walk in the woods. Sip your morning coffee cozied up - watching the sun peak over the mountains. Spend your evening watching the sunset. View both sunrise & sunset! Deer, fox & elk are frequent guests feeding in the meadows. This two bedroom lockoff with separate entrance provides easy access for all your adventuring in Colorado.

The space
Whether you have a peaceful walk in the snowy woods in mind or a exhilarating run down the private sledding hill... this secluded retreat will fulfill your mountain dreams. We love this space and can’t wait to share it with you! The views are unparalleled and will leave your breathless. You will be able to see Vail, Beaver Creek and Castle Peak from this cozy spot!

Distance to Edwards is 13 miles. We are 4 miles off of 1-70 between Edwards and Eagle.

Guest access
The entire 2 bedroom lockoff is yours. We live on property in the attached house - and are available to help or chat at any time! The back patio is yours for hanging out as well as the lookout.

In the winter:
It’s hard to find a more magical winter wonderland. We get SO much snow! Please use our private sledding hill and sleds- right out your front door on the property! Cuddle up on the overlook to watch the sunset or meander on a quiet walk in the woods... you choose! Up for more adventure... pack some hot cocoa and slip on some snowshoes (complimentary to borrow). There are public trails just 2 miles up the mountain.

In the summer/fall:
We have horseshoes and chairs on the overlook area for you.
Hiking on the top of Bellyache is hard to beat! The views and wildflowers/changing leaves are incredible and the drive is only a few minutes.

Additional notes:
The stairs to enter the lockoff at the back of the house are mountain rustic (natural stones). Please be sure you are able to navigate them! They will be snow covered and icy. It is snowy up here and 4 wheel drive is a must in the winter.

The lockoff is located above the garage. You may hear the garage door during your stay.

A few things to keep in mind about our Mountain Home:
We are rural - wifi is available. We live on the side of a mountain so have pristine mountain spring well water. This water is amazing! We also have water filters. This resource is precious though, so please practice water conservation.

We are on a septic system, so please do not flush anything except toilet paper. We do not have air conditioning, but since the house is at 8400 feet it is very rarely necessary. There are ceiling fans in each room as well as the living room. Additional fans are available upon request.

Please do not bring skis inside the home. Our community is gated and it is safe to leave them inside your car.

We value natural and organic living. Every intentionality was used in building this space.

Simply Spectacular
The whole trip was amazing. The location is pristine and the contact with the hosts was perfect. They provided us with a few hours early check in as our flight was landing early, no questions asked. They left us welcome gifts including a nice card, wine, chips, banana bread, chocolate, hand warmers, coffee creamer, water, and even chocolate milk for the kids. The drive to Vail and Beaver Creek was easy and since it was spring break week we appreciated the off site location. The views from the overlook were incredible, my son did not want to leave. Snow shoes and sleds provided for use. We will definitely be back. Thank you again for the hospitality. Easily one of the best VRBO experiences we have ever had.

Wonderful Escape
We stayed here while skiing and enjoying the Beaver Creek Culinary Weened. It was close enough to get us to events and the slopes quickly, but was a wonderful escape from the crowds. The place was immaculate and the property owner was very responsive to questions and made our stay amazing. We'll be back.

Family of five with three boys that love adventuring with us! We live on site. The lockoff is completely separate, but attached to our home. We LOVE where we live and look foward to sharing it with you. The views are unparalleled and will take your breath away.

Why they chose this property

This property is nestled in the heart of the Vail Valley. The privacy and quiet calm of the mountains captured our souls when we first found this property. We spent 3 years building our dream home. We see wildlife every day. Deer, elk, wild turkeys, fox, grouse, and the occasional bear make us remember we are living in the middle of nature. We hope you can come and enjoy with your kids or grandkids. The triple bunk bed is so fun and the living room is perfect for snuggling up together. We hope you love it here too!
