great views
The view was relaxing to watch the comings and goings of boats and birds and seals. The Beds and couches very comfortable. Well stocked kitchen. the cons were whoever was in day before us cooked fish and the smell took over the house. It took till next day to air it out. I think the stovetop and wall behind it and vent need deep cleaning to help with smells when cooking. The shower heads were kind of a hard spray and a regular size bathtub to soak in would have been nice. that tub is very small.

This was our second stay at this property. Very well appointed. The only place we’ve stayed over the years that actually has comfortable living room furniture. The view is fabulous. Would highly recommend.

Phenomenal view!
This was a great place to spend time with family. Fairly easy path down to the beach (and a very handy rope), Views were stunning! Minor issues - a load of laundry left in the dryer and coffee maker not cleaned out. It would also have been nice to have some beach towels or blanket and additional outside chair options. But definitly someplace I would return to!

We're so happy we chose this home which has a spectacular view of the ocean, the bay, and the bridge. It feels like a real home and we loved Waldport.

Always Fantastic
We’re return guests and this was another great stay! The view is unbeatable. We saw lots of wildlife right out the windows. The beach is quiet and practically deserted. It’s an oasis. Comfy bed and new furniture in the living room. We consider this “our vacation home” and will be back soon.

Nice ocean view!
We enjoyed seeing harbor seals on the coast and from the windows! We were disappointed that the stair access to the beach did not exist anymore. We were able to access the beach by the state park beach access though.

Welcoming, View, Comfort, and Warmth!
This was our second visit and it did not disappoint!! The location of the house made it easy to go crabbing in the bay, enjoy shopping in Waldport, Seal Rock and Newport. We were able to cook a Turkey dinner and the kitchenware was top quality with a Keurig, the necessary roasting pan, plenty of pots, tableware and a plethera of cooking tools. While we had a small issue using the electric firebox I was able to contact and speak with the host and even though it was Thanksgiving weekend he drove over to help solve our issue and made us feel like part of the family. The neighborhood is a lovely mix of old and new which made it easy to take an after dinner walk with family. If you are looking for an unobstructed view of the Bay this location will not disappoint! We will be back!

Great stay
We have been visiting the Oregon Coast for 40 years, originally camping but now staying in wonderful properties like this one. Incredible view and one of the few properties that actually had comfortable furniture. The bed in the master bedroom could use a good foam pad or new mattress. That said, we would still consider staying here again.

Great view, but house needs a deep clean.
Amazing view, but house needs a deep clean. Linens are nice and new couches which was great. Crumbs in couch and floors not well cleaned :( everything you would need for cooking, would benefit from more Drinking glasses. FYI, nearby beach access is closed and there is a new house being built next door.; Crew worked during the week but not the weekend. Would have been nice to get VA heads up from owners about these two items ahead of time?

Great vacation spot
Lovely place for a week by the sea. Well-appointed and comfortable. Great back deck with views extending from the bridge to the ocean literally at your feet. Need to keep close eye on young children when on the deck or in the backyard - there is a substantial drop edge (more than 50'?) at the extreme beach edge of the property. Many birds visit (a huge crow joined a group of us on the deck for quite a while - seemed friendly for a wild animal!). The sunsets were glorious - really amazing. (One point for the property manager: the cold water knob in the walk in shower was stripped and took some figuring out.) Kitchen was very good - we didn't cook much but everything was there that you would likely need. Altogether it was a really great place to stay and would recommend it strongly. Hope to stay here again someday!

This was the perfect spot for a family getaway during our last baseball tournament of the season! The view is amazing and the house slept the 5 of us comfortably. We will definitely keep this place on our return list if we have more tournaments in the Waldport area!

View spectacular
Very large windows to view the ocean & the bay. In the evening you can watch osprey’s & eagles hunting for their dinner. The only disadvantage is the beach access is no longer safe to use. The state park though has ample parking and is less than a mile away.

Nice place to watch a big storm!
We’ll, we didn’t time our trip well based on the crazy storms, but we felt safe and cozy in the home and enjoyed watching the waves and lightening over the ocean with the beautiful view. We’ve stayed here a few times now, and the place has definitely improved since the first time. Will def stay again, thank you!

Thanksgiving with a stunning view, easy access, and family friendly
The directions to the home were specific and easy to understand. Great start to the vacation!!! Then the icing on the cake is when you enter the home and are greeted by a spectacular view of the bay and the mouth of the ocean. The beds (King, Queen and bunk beds) were super comfortable with plenty of additional blankets and pillows but not necessary because of the warmth put out by the gas fireplace. The kitchen included everything we needed to cook a Thanksgiving meal - gas oven, full sized refrigerator, drip coffee pot, and lovely pots and pans. Access to the beach was a quick walk down the street and while the access path does have a bit of an incline, the rope rail made it a breeze for adults and our 6-year-old grandchild. Even though our stay occurred during a major holiday the homeowners were easy to reach and responded quickly. After our return home we immediately shared the listing with our family and friends as a premiere location that should not be missed. My husband has already started discussing the next opportunity to schedule a visit! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Amazing views
You walk in the door, and across the room is a wall of windows with an incredible view of Alsea Bay and the bridge, and the curve of the bay into the ocean. Very clean and well kept, with plenty of comfy reclining sofas and chairs. The beds were very comfortable, as well. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the gadgets you might need. I was especially pleased with the electric tea kettle -- so often I end up having to heat water in a pan on the stove, as anything that's had coffee in it ruins the taste of tea :) No issues with electricity or wifi (mentioned in a previous review), and the host is very responsive to questions and concerns. I asked about an outlet accessible to charge an electric car -- yes, there is one! Beach access is 4 houses down: a steep graveled path, but with a strong rope "railing" so very easy access. A wonderful place to stay, and we hope to return!

The owners are a couple who own a vineyard and winery in Albany. We are foodies and the kitchen is stocked with great pots and pans, a gas range and gadgets to ease your efforts.

Why they chose this property

This property sits on Jaquina John Point, which juts out at the confluence of the Alsea river bay and the Pacific Ocean. It has full, unobstructed, ocean front, river front and bay front views, including the beautiful Alsea bay bridge. It is minutes to all city amenities.

What makes this property unique

This house's perch is above the Alsea's entry into the Pacific Ocean with the tide coming and going, with Winter and Summer storms and fishermen and crabbers working means a change in view moment to moment, day to day, month to month.
