“What a Retreat” says it all! With over 3,200 sq ft of indoor space, and 2 large covered, screened decks, your family won’t feel cramped. There are plenty of spaces to discover privacy, yet the large Great Room and Kitchen allow everyone to gather in one area when inclined. Decorated with woodsy themed furnishings, the decor embraces the mountain escape feel that we all desire when visiting the Smokies.

Retreat from the hustle and bustle of sightseeing by taking a short climb to the top of a ridge where the cabin is nestled among the trees for privacy. Relax with a cup of coffee on one of the two oversized screened decks and experience the spectacular views of Cove Mountain! With over 3 acres surrounding the cabin (and backing another 90 undeveloped wooded acres), it feels like you're staying on your own private mountain top! During winter months, glimpses of Mt. LeConte and Bluff Mountain can also be seen! Pull up one of our rockers and submerge yourself in the sounds of the mountains in a very sheltered setting.

If stairs present an issue for any of your party, we have a WHEELCHAIR RAMP to provide ease of entrance to the main level of the cabin, as well as two King suites on the main level. The West bathroom has a lower threshold shower and a large open floor space to accommodate a wheelchair or walker for guests with mobility issues. The lower screened deck, with two King suites and Game Room are wheelchair accessible from the driveway.

The Great Room is complete with a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace in the middle of a wall of windows, framing the wooded scenery and Cove Mountain. And there’s no need to struggle building or maintaining a fire – the fireplace is outfitted with gas logs for instant warmth and gratification. There is also a Queen sofa bed available!

The expansive, gourmet kitchen is a delight when preparing meals for a crowd! Cooks can easily work together without getting in each other’s space. Top of the line gas cooktop and oven make preparing meals a breeze. And a warming drawer keeps foods warm until mealtime! The HUGE dining room table seats 10 people comfortably for mealtime and connecting with friends and family!

The two King bedrooms on the main floor are separated by the Great Room and Kitchen, providing additional privacy for guests. Each bedroom has a 43” 4K QLED TV and a door leading directly to the screened deck. The West bedroom (with a King bed) boasts an oversized walk-in closet, and a private bathroom with a 4’ X 6’ shower stall and huge soaking tub.

On the East side of the cabin is a King bedroom, complete with a large, lighted closet, and a bathroom with a tub/shower combo and double vanity. The laundry room, also on this side of the cabin, contains a full-sized front-loading washer and dryer with plenty of room to hang and fold laundered clothes.

The lower level contains 2 King bedrooms with bathrooms, and a Game Room with comfortable seating for viewing the 75" Smart TV. An oversized bathroom contains a tub/shower combo and large double vanity, and dual access to one of the King bedrooms and the Game Room. The other King bedroom has a private full bathroom with a double vanity and tub/ shower combo.

For families that enjoy competing in games of skill, we offer a variety of challenges downstairs in the Game Room. Indoor games include a pool table, foosball, sit-down 2-player multi-arcade game, wall mounted Connect Four, chess/checkers, reversible card/poker table, card games, jigsaw puzzles, and board games galore. Outdoor entertainment includes cornhole, a wood-burning firepit, a walking trail, and more! With over 3 acres, the only limits for exploration are your imagination!

Family gatherings to watch a favorite TV show or movie can be enjoyed in the Great Room, which is outfitted with a 75” 4K QLED Smart TV with soundbar and Blu-ray player. Or enjoy your favorite game or movie on the 75” 4K QLED Smart TV in the Game Room while playing a game of pool or foosball.

For the grill master in the group, a large 6-burner gas grill is conveniently located just steps off the kitchen under the covered carport. The large, upper screened deck provides the perfect setting to avoid the insects and enjoy your culinary endeavors. Or enjoy your meal at the picnic table on the lower screened deck - then soothe your muscles and soak away your cares in the 6-person hot tub!

Last but not least is the fire pit which sets the stage for storytelling and memory making. We supply the wood…you supply the stories and laughter.

Even though "What A Retreat" feels secluded and away from it all, it’s approximately 5 minutes from the Parkway and all the action of Pigeon Forge: restaurants, dinner shows, grocery stores, entertainment, shopping, and more! Tanger Outlets is only 10 minutes away, and Dollywood a short 20-minute drive. Enjoy a scenic 30-minute drive to all Gatlinburg has to offer, along with numerous hiking trails in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Planning to celebrate a special occasion during your stay? Let us know! We can accommodate special requests to ensure this is the most memorable celebration ever!

We’re confident you’ll think back on your stay at “What A Retreat” with fondness. If you are looking for a place that offers mountain views with the feeling of seclusion, but offers an abundance of activities, then this is the place.

Perfect Vacation
The house was perfect, we have 3 kids, 2 are married so 4 bedrooms each with a bathroom was perfect. The game room was very nice, and the family room/kitchen was great. The recent updates (i.e. driveway, landscaping) was an extra surprise. Michael and Megan were very easy to communicate with via email or text, we did have their cell phone but didn't need to call. Everything in the house worked and we had zero issues. The location of the house was great, lots of privacy but not more than 10 to 30 minutes away from a lot of fun things to do. If we make it back to Smoky Mountain National Park, we'll be sure book again. Thanks again Michael and Megan. Dave and Mary

Exceptional stay!
I will say first and foremost, this is a beautiful property! They do a phenomenal job with upkeep and providing a great experience as well. Check in check out was a breeze. House was very clean top to bottom! The steep driveway was fun, but can see how it can make some a little nervous. A great daily workout walking up and down. Perfect distance away from town that it's nice and quiet at night, but still only a few minutes away from everything. Really loved how everything was labeled. Really made it ready for putting away things in the kitchen or finding the right light switch. Highly recommend this place!

Relax
The cabin was very nice. We have never stayed that close to town. But the noise didn’t carry like I thought it would. It was clean well stocked and relaxing. I would stay here again.

Perfect cabin getaway!
We loved this cabin! Not too far from town at all, but you feel like you are alone on a mountaintop. Everything was updated and very clean. Easy access as we had someone in a wheelchair. We loved the fire pit and rocking chairs! The owner was very responsive and accommodating when we had to postpone for a week. And he even personally brought a cord to charge a TV remote. We had Walmart deliver groceries with no problem. We would definitely stay here again!

Why they chose this property

During a visit to the Great Smoky Mountains in the summer of 2019, we were captivated by the quiet beauty, the hospitality, and the easy access to all the amenities nearby. At that time, we decided this was the perfect area in which to purchase a second home to make return trips, expand upon the memories of the prior family vacation, and to invite family, friends, and guests to see what our excitement was all about. This wonderful experience needed to be shared, and we knew we needed a vacation home near the Smokies to call our own.

Since that time, we purchased a beautiful lodge in Sevierville. The guest feedback was so wonderfully heartwarming that we knew we needed to grow and provide additional options for returning guests.

But we didn't want just any cabin. It had to speak to us personally. It had to grab us and pull us in from the moment we saw it. But moreover, it had to feel like home.

The moment we saw this cabin, we knew we had to have it!

With many places to hang out and relax, to spread out and enjoy, we knew this would be perfect for our families to host reunions yet provide the privacy we all desire. With over 3 acres of land with a hiking trail, multi-generational families can choose from many indoor and outdoor activities. When it's time to gather, the spacious Great Room and Kitchen allow everyone to congregate for meals, movie watching, or reminiscing.

Our family has been very blessed and thankful to have found another cabin to accommodate many friends and families coming together, while still feeling warm and inviting, as if at home. Only a quick 5-minute drive from our first cabin, guests can have additional sleeping spaces for larger gatherings, or try a different cabin for a change of scenery. Privacy awaits!

And that's what we were looking for....another property perfectly suited for us, family, and friends. We know you will share our enthusiasm for this lovely home and can't wait to have you join the What A Retreat family!

What makes this property unique

Nestled on a mountain ridge line is this beautiful luxury cabin retreat to relax in privacy, and within a few minutes be in all the action the Pigeon Forge area offers. Just a short drive is Sevierville, Douglas Lake, Gatlinburg, and Knoxville. You can also take about an hour scenic drive through the Smoky Mountains to Cherokee, NC and stop to see the large elks grazing along the way!
