Ruined vacation- very poorly maintained property
The WiFi was not working- the antennas had physically been broken off and laid beside the box. The backsplash behind the stove, the stove itself and inside the oven had grease/food splatter on them. the kitchen surfaces like the counters had crumbs all over them. There were cobwebs crawling up the trim around the front door and fireplace, and dust caked on the pictures and trim. I notified the host of the kitchen issue just so she was aware and I did let her know that the lack of wifi was an issue because of my autistic son. Despite mentioning it multiple times, the host never once acknowledged the WiFi issue or that I had even brought it up until I forced her to address it. Instead she kept saying her cleaning crew ‘assured’ her things were clean despite the fact that I had pictures of the current state. She said it must’ve been the maintenance man working on the microwave that left the mess. We started seeing more and more issues that were clearly a danger to not only us, but our 4 year old as well. There was a 1 inch nail, sticking sharp side out of the trim in the hall. Also broken, razor sharp ceramic tile just left laying in the BR. The only open cabinet to put food in had an unmounted exposed electrical outlet that if touched would shock u. The host offered a refund but we had to pack up and come home shortly after arriving bc we cannot stay in hotels and could not find an available cabin rental that night which means we were out much $ for the entire vacay.
